No LTE connectivity :( - Xiaomi Mi 4C

AFAIK the Mi4C has band 7 support, but I have been unable to get LTE signal on Canadian carriers Fido or Bell.
I have tried to force "LTE only" through the service menu but that just causes 3G to disconnect.
A manual search under network shows Rogers 4G and Telus 4G networks but will not allow me to connect. Any ideas? :/

I was only able to get LTE on cyanogen mod ROM. When I got back to stock MiUI rom I never got LTE.

[Q] Disable 4g on samsung galaxy s2 i727r?

Hi there,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE (signed with Rogers) and I'm trying to figure out how to disable 4G on my phone and only use 3G. I've looked through some threads talking about changing the "Network mode" in the "Mobile network settings," but I haven't had any luck with that.
GSM/HSPA/LTE (Auto Mode)
GSM/HSPA (Auto Mode)
GSM Only
HSPA Only
Right now, I'm using GSM/HSPA (Auto Mode) but it still says I'm connected to 4G in the status bar. In GSM Only, it connects to the edge network (E) and in HSPA only, it will connect to 4G network. Anyone have any ideas of how to connect using 3G?
Also, I've noticed in my APN settings, I'm using the "ltemobile.apn" (the only APN setting I have listed). I don't have a LTE plan, so should this be the APN that I should be using? Since I'm not on a LTE plan, would I be charged more for using the "ltemobile.apn" APN?
Thanks
4g is 3g/HSPA. If you were able to get LTE, the 4g icon would change (as long as you aren't on a ROM that doesn't have LTE icons)
Is there any way to turn off 4G/LTE completely and just use 3G to conserve battery life? I don't own a Skyrocket but my friend does and has horrible batt life.
On home screen press menu button and go to phone settings
Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Network Mode
Here you can tell it to use edge/3g/lte or edge/3g or just edge or just 3g
Hopfully that is not my ROM that allows me to choose that. Using Sky Ice Cream Sandwich rom
It depends on the ROM. Stock won't do it and a number of custom roms I've used don't do it either, but I have seen some that appear to allow for that functionality. Do some research and find one you like.
"4G" is 3g (well hspa+) which is twice as fast as what 3g speeds were originally at (see 4, iphone) its more of a marketing thing. There won't be a 3g icon showing up with these roms. best bet is to choose gsm/hspa then it won't be looking for LTE.

HSPA is actually 3G. AT&T and Tmobile were calling it 4G because they had to come up with some marketing scheme to compete with WiMaxx and LTE. SO in short, AUTO HSPA... is effectively disabling your 4G.

Connect Rooted Jelly Bean S3 to 3G HSPDA data

I have my wifes Verizon S3 that I updated to jellybean to get global capabilities, then I rooted the phone and was able to set a custom APN.
Im in Costa Rica and using the phone for voice and data. I have both working, however I am not connecting to the 3G network here, only the 2G edge network with slow speeds. My RAZR MAXX is connecting to the 3G HSPDA network just fine and the speeds are actually quite impressive. The APN settings in my RAZR are identical to those in the S3.
Is there a setting somewhere or something that I can do to force the S3 to connect to 3G data and not 2G? Ive check every setting I can find and I see nothing.
Thank you all so much here at xda , you have been an amazing help so far.
Perhaps a custom ROM? Or is there an app that will let me manage the radios/frequencies?
The phone only has one 3G UMTS/HSPA/+ band, and that is 2100 MHz.
It's possible that the network you are using in Costa Rica doesn't support the above band, and your other phone has additional bands that the network does support!

Canadian N5 users on Rogers question

Hey fellow canuks (and all other knowledgeable) parties,
Been using my N5 for a few weeks now, and noticed that my Network icon never switches from H (im assuming that HSP+) to LTE.
Ive seen it switch from H to 3G but never to LTE.
I purchased my N5 through the Play store, and NOT rogers.
Are there any APN settings that i need to add for the rogers LTE band? Or is this normal behavior?
Please advise.
thanks
I assume you have an LTE enabled SIM card?
My N5 is from the play store and I'm on Rogers... LTE works out of the box.
I had the same issue as you did, and did the following:
Settings --> More... --> Mobile Networks --> Network Mode --> Access Point Names
Under Access Point Names, I have 4:
Rogers (rogers-core-appl1.apn)
Rogers LTE (ltemobile.apn)
Rogers Tethering (isp.apn)
Rogers WAP (internet.com)
It was selected on the first one (ROGERS - rogers-core-appl1.apn), and I manually changed it to ROGERS LTE.
Since then, I get E, H and LTE by my signal.
Be sure to do some speedtests with both Rogers and Rogers LTE.
Hope that helps.

Enable 3G UMTS HSDPA

Is there anyway to enable UMTS 3G on this version of phone. I have used the hidden LG app and selected auto select GSM/WCMDA/LTE but I cannot get any 3G service. All I get is 4G/4GLTE or EDGE and nothing else.
2G service will be stopping soon here and I won't be able to use the phone when in EDGE mode when that happens.
I am on Vodafone in AU and live in poor service 4G area but good service 3G when I used my old Note3. I have also tried a Telstra 4G SIM and the same happens.
Looking at spec for this phone it is radio supported for 2G/3G and 4G but I suspect AT&T may have locked out 3G service.
I cannot find a non AT&T ROM anywhere so I suspect I am stuck with AT&T for the moment which I suspect this may fix the issue. But any help would be appreciated.

Strange, because using the same app I'm able to change the network mode from 2G to 3G with ease. And it works well.
Phone is OK
OK the AT&T V10 has no 900Mhz support but has 850Mhz support and 2100Mhz support
After many contacts with Vodafone AU, I found someone that knows their stuff. They tell me coastal areas have 2100Mhz and inland where I am is 900Mhz, so problem not solved but understood. But if I have a Telstra AU SIM they support 850Mhz which this model has.

Help ! My Verizon One M8 won't connect to GSM Networks.

I bought an M8 last month and with a luck like mine I got a Verizon variant.
The problem is it won't connect to 2g networks ( connects to 3g and 4g networks fine. )
First I thought Verizon variant won't be supporting GSM or 2g networks but I did my research and found that it supports GSM networks. My network gives excellent coverage for 2g in my area . My network's 3g and 4g coverage is really poor in my area so I am left with 2g only. If I set it to global mode, it will connect as long as 3g or 4g signals are available but will go on limited service once there are no 3g or 4g signals.
In network settings if I select GSM only it does not work. The network mode remains unchanged . All other network modes can be selected but not GSM only.
Even by dialling *#*#4636#*#* I can't select GSM only.
If I set it to GSM/UMTS/LTE it will connect to only 3g or 4g but will show limited service once there are no 3g or 4g signals .
I have tried a patch for Verizon phones with no 2g options but still no use.
It would be nice if I could any help what could be the problem.
It can't be hardware related because if the modem is damaged then 3g and 4g should also not work.
