I created this new thread for those on Sprint Sero Plan only. How are we getting the new replacement phone since we can't activate the phones at Sprint stores. Are we suppose to call employee telesales again?
Thanks
I just added a Poll on top so that you guys can vote.
Interesting question but I wasn't thinking about replacing the phone... There is nothing wrong with the phone that I currently have.

No you go to the store and get a replacement.
Any update for Sero Users? Is it time to call telesales now?

Why would you call telesales?
i am a sero customer and got my note 7 thru my local store thru the upgrade and 2 year new contract, i contacted my local store other day and was told they would contact me when the replacements are in. I will double check this tomorrow and i just received notification that my phone wants to UPDATE and i assume thats the RUMORED 60% charge max, not happy about it! And via the link my IME is apparently compromised!

Well all note 7's except chinese models are included. Are you sure the update is not the one from a couple of weeks ago.
Whats the big deal, new note 7's will be in stock by the 21st.

Yes all Note 7 sold before 9/15/16 will show up bad when you check the imei.
Also the latest update is ph9 and it doesn't have the 60% charge rate.
Just went to three stores. None of them could or would process return for Sero.
Two of the stores had replacements that they brought out but when they tried to process the return they couldn't do it.
Finally called telesales, transferred multiple times, over a hour and a half on the phone and they are shipping mine.
I went to a corp. store with my sero Note 7. Sales person asked me if I worked for Sprint at some point, and I said I was really close friends with an employee. She said "oh", and mentioned my plan and exchanged my phone. They did ask where I bought it, and said online. But, no issues, no fuss, no muss.

Did they need manager override? Both stores said they couldn't do it until the manager was in. I called customer service from the store and was told the same.

They did need the manage to enter in his code, but I wasn't sure if it was because I made an appointment/reservation online (which flags it as a new device activation).

did you show them your original receipt or did they process your return with your account number only? Im not sure what to bring to the store. that's why.
They asked me where I bought it (online), and I told them corporate is telling people to go to stores where she issued a "that figures" sort of look. No receipt or paperwork... my phone number and email was all that I had to provide (other than the phone). I wish I held onto all the accessories, though.
I'm a Sero500 customer and went to a corporate store, they exchanged and activated it no problems. The manager was on a phone the whole time I was there....so the manager wasn't needed for mine.

i would watch out. I went yesterday to a sprint store here in Van Nuys, CA after i got out of work and about 30 minutes before that i was told that they had the silver one in stock after making me wait for an hour i was asked if i had the box and i replied for what? No i don't they then told me i had to pay a 35 dollar restocking fee if i didn't cause they needed the serial number off if the box. I then told him that all the number that are in that box are in the phone and that was a bunch of b.s. Mind you this that was a sprint corporate store not some kiosk in the middle of the mall owned by habib. Well after some arguing and i told them just get the phone ill just call sprint later and have then refund me these 35 dollars they come back and said they only had the blue one. I was pissed then he said they would waive the 35 dollars i yelled some f u at him and proceed to call sprint about the issue they are now sending me my phone and some added $$$$$ of my bill for the trouble.
Anymore updates? .. im planing to call telesales next week to get my replacement..

I was a sero 500 customer and then I changed over to the sero 1600 family plan. Anyway, the corporate sprint store gave me my replacement. I don't see why they wouldn't. Telesales told me to go to a corporate store.

If you bought it at a corporate store then the date you purchased is in AT&T's system. You SHOULD be able to walk in and swap it out without any problems.

shouldn't matter. The phone has been out for less than 30 days and it's on YOUR account (I assume) so you should be able to get a new one.
gunny's right, shouldn't make a difference, unless your friend bought it at a retail store (best buy, costco, etc). If he bought it at an AT&T corporate store, you can exchange it at any store. My wife ordered an Aria online from AT&T last year, couldn't get a connection to a cell tower, customer service said she could take to any AT&T (corp) store and exchange it. They did, new one worked fine.
Anyone know where we can reliably get the UICC Sim card to activate on the Nexus 5. I called a local store and they said they don't have them. Don't seem to see it on Sprint store anywhere either. Apparently this is required to activate for Nexus 5 Sprint and get 4G working.

They just think they don't have them, but they do. The Nexus uses a mini (not nano) UICC card - same as the Galaxy S4 and perhaps some other models.

For the record, this is a solution only if you already have a Sprint account. If you are planning to use the phone on a Sprint MVNO, you will need to resort to other methods to get the "SIM".

Ive tried all routes, and i couldn't get one over the phone or online. If you are lucky, and hopefully i will be tomorrow, you can go to a sprint store, and request a sim for HTC one or SGS4 and those sim cards will work for us on the n5.
you can go here and read some stories of how people did this. http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/nexus/pWGKq9bZfB4[126-150-false]

This worked for me. The person on the chat didn't even act as if it was an uncommon question. Though I have a regular plan and not a SERO or anything else. He didn't ask about my plan at all though but he could see my info I am sure. I did not have any luck whatsoever calling 4 sprint stores around me. ALl of them had no clue what I was even talking about or tried telling me Sprint is CDMA... I think actually going into a store would work better because then you would most likely be able to speak to the actual repair techs who know that Sprint phones do in fact use SIM or UICC cards. The sales people who answer phones seem clueless as far as the tech. One thing is that multiple customer services reps online have stated you should go to a Sprint store that is a repair center and is owned by sprint and not one of the stores that say "Sprint by ASW" or whatever.

Did my replacement order over the phone with Sprint customer support last Sunday 9/11. All I continue to get is emails stating my order is processing. I know others have handled their recall this way as well. Any updates for anyone? Hopefully we don't have to wait weeks when stores are getting them in. Only reason I did it this way is because my note 7 wasn't purchased directly from a sprint store.
Good Morning Dude!! I called a local Sprint Corp store yesterday as I wanted to swap out sooner than later. The Sprint Corp store told me they are only swapping devices that were purchased at a Corporate Store location. Hmmm.....I called the Sprint Telesales 800 line and talked to them. Sprint told me the same thing. Corporate stores are only swapping out devices that were purchased at a corporate location.
I contacted my local Sams club and they told me they would have replacement devices on Wednesday and I could swap at the Sams location I bought the phone from...which I plan on doing Wednesday.
Sprint said that I could refuse shipment on the device they send me and when they get the device back, they would cancel the telesales order.
Kind of a long drawn out process...but that's my plan. If I get the Telesales device prior to tomorrow late afternoon, obviously I'll keep the telesales device. But I don't see that happening.

Well the note 7 i got was a gift from my grandparents. They live out of state and got it at a third party sprint store so the two different sprint corp stores I went to to exchange wouldn't do it because they couldn't pull the order up. I don't know what else to do other then wait for my advance exchange order to ship from sprint themselves.

It is all BS. If my Note 7 did not work good i would be having a fit with them over this. Mine works good so i look at it as a loaner till a New one comes to swap for free. My 2 local sprint Corp stores both said they have none that they got a few in last week but swapped them out. And of course some sold them as new to new people when they're not supposed to. But anyway mine works but the point is it has been awhile now and if the phone gets a scratch or a crack then so be it since they're the ones forcing me to keep it since there is no way for me to give it back to them. Sure i could take it to the store and just wait but then i have to go back to a old phone till it comes out so screw that.

My exact sentiments, I tried stores and of course I could go back to best buy since that's where I bought it but I have a order for a replacement through sprint that they will mail me, so I will wait for that instead of this hit and miss nonsense other people are going through
Same here. My time bomb has performed flawlessly so far. I'll just keep using it until they send my replacement. Or it goes boom.

Looking back through my emails, it looks like it was placed on the Sept 10th
I've already swapped my device. I'm having Bluetooth problems and am going to contact Sprint and ask them if I can swap my already swapped device for the one that is being delivered. They are expecting a specific serial number to be returned. Who know how that conversation will go....but it's worth a shot.
Got a text this morning with a tracking number and when I checked it, it says to be delivered today so I will be getting mine this afternoon.
I was in T-Mobile today pre-ordering the V20. The rep let me know about the "free" LG tablet promo and I declined. He then told me if I have an old working paid off smartphone from any carrier in good working condition LG would write a $200 check/credit toward the LG V20. I went home and grabbed an AT&T HTC Inspire 4G and factory reset it. No cracks and phone is in good to great condition. The associate took down the IMEI and verified it and gave the phone back to me. When my V20 comes in there is going to be another box with paid postage to send the old phone back to LG and between 6 to 8 weeks they will send me a check for $200 toward the V20. I'm not sure if it's a cashable check or just a phone credit.
Yeap, i am turning in an old Droid Razr MAXX. I already got my email from T-Mobile that my promotion application for it was accepted. I just need to send it back and they will do a 3 point inspection on it. Hopefully it all goes through ok.

They said when the V20 comes in it will have a box and return shipping label. LG should be cutting the check, not T-Mobile this time. The quote t-mobile gave me was $0 but they said LG would cut the full amount. 6-8 weeks. We will see how it plays out.

For me this phone is a stop gap until the S8 comes out. If it wasn't for the whole Note 7 crap I wouldn't even be getting the V20. I am going to miss Samsung Pay though - I used it everywhere. I have a replacement for it but it won't ship until 1Q next year https://plastc.com/
I used to root/rom and do all that but with Samsungs latest a lot of the stuff I wanted to root for I could do without root. I could install ad blockers into stock browser. I'm on a Google Music family plan so no youtube ads.
Not sure if I'll root/TWRP/Xposed the V20 or not. I never did the Samsungs because you would lose either Samsung Pay or Fingerprint sensor and I wanted both.

What the hell? T mobile keeps telling me this promo cant be used with a JOD. I have a Note 7 and I want to return for the V20 and give in my Moto E phone for the 200 check. I was told on the phone, by t-force, and by Jophn when I tweeted him cant use JOD. How did you go about doing it?

I went Into the store, pre ordered my V20 and brought a old HTC in. I paid $120 in taxes and down payment for the V20 and he took down the IMEI and verified it on his computer. I'm not sure if JOD is the same as the regular Jump! program, but I had no problem doing it at all. The check comes in 8 weeks after you send your phone back to LG and it's only good toward the V20

It makes sense you could not do this with the JOD device you are returning. I have the original Jump program and did not use my current phone that I would have jumped from but rather an old Droid Razr MAXX that I had laying in my draw. The device you are turning in needs to be paid off in full. Like others have mentioned, if you do not have an old phone laying around, you can buy the cheapest 4g smartphone you can find and use it to get the $200.

Reread my post. The phone I want to use is paid off and mine. I was told that if you are on jod you can't use this promo even if you have a 4g phone that's paid off.

Is your phone going to Ascurion?
I'm on JOD & followed the trade-in link on my Order Status page, used a $30 Straight Talk Alcatel phone for the trade-in,had to get assistance/approval from CustomerCare since the actual item wasn't in the drop-down menu when going thrugh the process.
My pre-paid mailing label pdf shows it going to Ascurion, not LG.
I have a feeling this entire process is half-baked,since I too had other reps stating JOD wasn't eligible.
( My entire process/Ttransaction was documented by Customer Care,as I completed the process while they were still on the phone & they sent texts confirming as much)
Worse case scenario,if it's deemed a no-go after the dust has settled,I'll just hit 'em up for a $30 bill credit to cover the cost of the trade-in phone...........................
he said he made a down payment, that's not JOD that's Jump! 1.0 or 2.0

I just ordered 2 Alcatel 4g phones, $17.95 each with same day shipping from Amazon to process this promotion with the 2 LG V20's I ordered, both are with Jump1.
Here's the trade in link if anyone needs it.

You need your order number and the IMEI of the 4g trade in device.

Lucky you. I went to the store last night and they were clueless. I had to tell them about the promotion etc. . It was a nightmare. I ended up just walking out and calling instead. Wish I just did that from the start was super easy.

THX,that's exactly what I did (JOD) immediately after taking delivery of my V20 on 10/19,grabbed the cheapest 4G LTE phone available @ my local WalMart & followed the same link via my Order Status page.
Sending it out today 1st chance I get.
So,we just sit back & wait,or,is there anything extra we/T-Mobile/LG need to do to get the $200 (less trade-in allowance) ?

This is where things get a little confusing, since the value of the phones are $0 (I bought a old prepaid phone as well for $18) How does LG know to send us the $200 E-Check?
I am assuming once T-Mobile receives the device, they forward this information to LG via order # etc...I will just go in the store to make sure this is done right.
I decided to reach out to T-mobile and LG regarding my $200 rebate trade-in status. T-mobile gave me an lg email address to inquire about it. After 2 days of no response I called lg. lg informed me there is a problem with their rebate system. basically they do not have anyone's information and can not send out the rebate unless we call in and give them our information. it has been 2 days since i gave them my information and still no response. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up.
that doesn't sound good at all. now we will wont get rebate or what.
I wonder what happens when we won't get rebate from promotion. Many of us bought the phone just because of the promotion
No problem with sprint received mine two weeks after purchase.

Just got off the phone with Tmobile They now said it is up to lg to send it out .After telling them the situation they agreed to credit my account. my advice is to all tmobile and make them aware of the situation and have them credit your account since they are the ones in possession of our trade in devices.

That was the point of my post. People are waiting on something that LG knows noting about. 1 LG rep admitted they messed up on their end and they have no record of anyone's trade in because the system they set up to handle the rebate functioned. Sprint is the only company that seems to have realized LG made a mistake and started handling it on their own.
No issues whatsoever here with Sprint. I upgraded in a Sprint store on 10/24/2016, and received the $200.00 credit on my account on 11/05/2016 (12 days later).

It may just be a tmobile issue. Our promo states an electronic check not a credit.
flexte said:
My last post stated people from sprint are getting the problem resolved through a credit. The original promotion was no supposed to be a credit on either carrier. So that is proof LG dropped the ball and the carriers will have to accept responsibility.

That's just patently false. The promotion was announced as a credit when Sprint officially announced they'd be carrying the phone on 10/07/2016 (see the 3rd paragraph and footnote 1). The promotion was then confirmed as a credit when Sprint officially announced the launch date of the phone on 10/21/2016 (see the 3rd paragraph and footnote 2).
EDIT: Footnote correction on second link.

That's a lie on that rep's part(maybe just misinformed), as it was even up on LG's own website prior to the V20's official launch date.
So ive been on the phone, LG says it At&ts deal, so now im on the att for like 40 minutes plus and i think it gonna be figured out. Ill edit if its not handled after the call.
I got to get on this I haven't received anything
Same here. T-Mobile I called weeks ago. They said 1-2 billing cycles for the credit to show up. Problem here is that I was never able to access the promotions page. It always said there were no promotions for my line. I had to do the trade in over the phone with a label the rep emailed to me.
They received that phone probably a month ago now and still nothing. I don't even have anything that shows I traded in a phone.
I would so rather have gotten a check than a credit. I had intended to use it towards my monthly lease payments. Now it will probably end up just coming off my bill and only after I call and "make" them do it.
I just signed up with Tmobile after being with Verizon for almost 16 years. I'd like to keep my Note 4 instead of trading it in. Is it possible to purchase a cheap verizon phone to trade in to tmobile get the $200 rebate?

Doesn't matter what carrier as long as it's a 4g capable phone. I turned in a sprint evo 4g and was approved. I'm on T-Mobile as well.
