hello iam from maalysia and new here. i just got my MI4i last year and it had hardbrick around this year April when i try to update mobile phone OS (sorry i didnot remember the OS version). During update, the phone shutdown and the update crash. since that my phone being hardbrick. because i am living in island and there is no xiaomi center near by so i decide to repair it by myself. i had change the charging motherboard in the phone with the new one because in the early stage i suspect there is something wrong with the charging post. in the process to open the case i had damage the volume and power button. i had try to replace it with 2 spare but still didn't work
my phone current condition is cannot turn on or enter recover mode using volume down+ on button. cannot be detect by PC even after install qualcomm USB driver even being use with MiFlash and MiPCSuit. after iam install the driver and connect the phone, the device manager only show unknown device. i had try to update the driver using internet but still fail to install the snapdragon driver. right now the good news is the phone still blinks it red LED near speaker when i charging it using power plug or connect it to PC. but it will blinks for short of time around 2 minutes and not all time it will blink.
after research in forum i had done softbrick level one and level 2 method. and i suspect it in hardbrick 1 level and still didn't enter hardbrick level 2 because the LED still blink in certain time. is there anyone that experience this type of problem?plz help me

my Nexus S one day decide to not power on at all!
SYMPTOMS:
- black screen
- power button doesn't do anything (also phone not vibrate)
- no button combination boots to download mode
- no charghing indication when connected to charger or USB
- no detection in the computer when connected to the USB
After some days without battery, the problem persists:
NEW SYMPTOMS:
- when plugged on computer usb port, Windows 7 start to find Sec S5pc110 Test B/D driver
In a formum of Bada (I now is not my phone) Samsung support tells that can be the bootloader broken!!
Someone can help me to solve my problem!

Well, did you do anything to it before this started? Anything like flash some new rom, or the OTA or similar?
There was another dude a few days ago who reported his phone was bricked and described similar symptoms to yours, but it turned out his issue was just a totally discharged battery that wouldn't start taking a charge until he forced it with some homemade 9-volt battery thing. You might try a different battery if you can obtain one.
The only other thing, besides warranty repair, might be to get the 301k resistor jig and use Odin to flash a new bootloader image to the phone, per this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=947950

have you had any progress in unbricking your phone. I too am in the sam state with my Nexus S... unfortunately I can get this phone back to USA & when I spoke to the Samsung helpline the crooks simply refused to help since the instrument is outside of USA.

Does your pc detect anything when you plug usb cable ?
Yes, it detects, but then disconnects, can it be a problem in the battery?
Chances are you have received a refurbished device or defective battery.
Try and find another Mi4 user for trial of the battery or let's see you need to contact the vendor soon.

Hii bro..sometimes battery goes below critical level,phone doesnt start.this situation is called sleep of death. U need to keep ur mobile in charging for 12 hours.hope this will solve ur problem.

Charge via wall adapter. Leave it for some time.
PS: When your battery reaches 9-10%, it is advisable to charge it back to 100%.

I just got this issue 10min ago. Havn't depleted the battery on the phone for a very long time, my guess is that it hasn't calibrated the battery in a while or something like that. Will keep it in the fast charger during the night and then i'll reply here.
EDIT: Normally the red LED is constantly on when the battery is low and it's in the charger, now it's flashing which makes it look a bit more scary.
EDIT2: Works fine now after a night of charging
Charger could be not pushing enough voltage to charge battery. Try another one to see if it remedies the issue.

When I connect my phone with my computer it is recognized and all the partitions are mounted. And with all I mean all. There are about 7 partitions mounted (Linux and Windows) and they keep being mounted until I disconnect the phone. I let my Mi4 on the wall charger for 24 hours (2A Samsung one which charges all my other devices without any problems) but I still have the blinking red light after connecting it to the charger. Any other things I can do to get it running again?

I solved this problem on my own. Even though the phone doesn't show up on the fastboot devices list you can use the Mi Flash Tool to flash the fastboot update (http://xiaomiadvices.com/miui-7-flash-fastboot-rom-on-xiaomi-phones-using-mi-flash-tool/). The drivers installed with the Mi Flash Tool for the Windows 10 Mobile Release (http://en.miui.com/thread-189369-1-1.html) recognize all the partitions as one device and show it with a cryptical name in the flash list.
Hi ! I fully charged the phone and after it shuted down. It doesn't starts. PC doesn't see it. When I'm plugin the wire just half way into the phone the red light stays on for a few seconds and than nothing at all. Can anyone help me?

Tried to change charger. No luck. The phone won't even boot by pushing Vol down+ Power
Solution: I simply connected the phone to a portable external charger, and tadaaaa !!! it was brought back to life !

There is no action after power on, any vol and power. Only reaction is after connecting usb a red light lights up.
I tried tricks with connecting this to PC with and w/o battery with no success.
About two days ago i think (or it is just my imagination) i found a method of resurrecting this device with USB Jig used in Samsung devices but i cannot find it now (history is clear...hm.). Author was writing about connecting USB Jig And leaving phone for about 8 hours and than after connecting to USB it just woke up.
Does any of XDA members knows the post i am looking for or knows method of ressurecting this device?

Well human breathren, I see thou hath some problem with thy phone. Hast thou consulted a service center?
From my inspection, your phone is resurrectable and (maybe) will work using JTAG method, but before you do that, A red LED light means that your phone can still recover from brick, via software I mean. I do not sure how, but there is.
When i connected JTag pin to ground the device woke up, i installed MTK drivers but after few seconds it just disconnected. I dont know how can i keep device online.

If You have DL error after flash (on Lenovo spashscreen) You need to:
1. Download preloader (and only preloader) from Stock 1231
2. Download all except preloader from Lenovo_A850i.
If you only need to refresh device, download complete Lenovo_A850i.
Be sure to check DA/DL All With Checksum.
Here is what happened. I was playing Crashlands when I noticed that my battery is at 3%. So ran to get my Quick charger to get some power fast. After connecting it, I tried to unlock the screen and it went black after a second. So I was thinking that it just shutdown because of low battery. I pressed the power button and noting happens, just the red light showing it was charging. Then I tried soft restart (power + volume up) and it vibrated 3 time and probably shutdown. From that point noting I did started the phone. Even using the off button next to the Sim tray. When I connected it to my PC is ether recognized as Unknown USB device or SOMC Flash Device. I should probably mention that the phone was hot from the game before connected it the charger.
I had the phone for one year and a bit. It is not rooted and i just recently installed the lattes update from Sony. Currently I have it put to charge, at least it looks like it is charging (gets little hot).
Is my phone bricked or something else? What should I do?

QHSUSB_DLOAD device will show when Connected PC.You can use Flashtool to install the driver.
Unknown divices : because you should complete shut down the power (Disconnect the buttery ).
flash tool will find the phone ,but can't flash.
seems Z1 have a way that find the test point to recovery boot file.hope z5 have the same way.

can you check with pc if it is connected as qualcomm mode ie qhusb_bulk if no driver is present.
If it was in this case, i can tell you how to solve it
