Hello!
I currently am running Jelly Beans ROM Build 8 on my phone and I have come across a strange problem. What I love about this phone is that, unlike my previous phone, when I would answer phone calls and put the phone to my face, the screen would black out/go to sleep so I don't accidentally end the calls with my cheek (with my previous phone I was constantly doing that). However, for some odd reason, if I answer/ignore a call, the sensitivity of the light sensor (or whatever it is called that would it on the top right corner of my phone that would help black out my screen once I put my face to it) is still on like I am in a phone call mode. For example, I go to text and my thumb gets too close to the sensor and the screen blanks out. I have to unlock it and in the process the screen blanks out. If I keep my fingers away from the sensor, it works fine, but I am so confused on why this screen sleep sensitivity continues. If I reboot my phone, it's fine and back to normal, but I don't want to keep doing that every time I answer a call or ignore it. Has anyone come across this problem or can aid me in finding out how to fix it?
Thank you! Any help would be appreciated!
Bump - anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
hi all,
my butterfly's screen just turned black. the phone is still functional because i'm receiving calls, making calls (my lock screen has a shortcut to a contact), receiving notification sounds, and i WAS able to feel the vibration feedback of unlocking my phone.
so basically the screen just lights up black, any ideas on how to reset it?
I tried to guesstimate on the screen where the reset option is, but i can't seem to get the right area after trying like 10 times...
i'm thinking, while i wait for htc to reply, to just let the battery run out?
Does anyone know of a way to stop the Mate 9 screen from coming on during a call.
When on a call, if I move the phone even a little, the screen comes on, dials someone else and puts the call I'm on on hold.
Very annoying.
The screen on my J7 is going blank every time I place a call or answer one. The phone becomes totally unresponsive; I have to wait until the other side ends the call (or pull the battery). It does not do this if I answer in the Lollipop heads-up popup window, only in the full calling/phone screen. I have tested the proximity sensor, and it is working fine. No case or screen protector on the phone. Like I said, it only goes blank with the full calling screen.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Hello,
On my OnePlus 9, when I receive a call, I take my phone answer to it without any issue and put it close to my hear. So the screen get black and the screen stay locked.
Unfortunately, at the end of the call, when I want to hang up, I take the phone away from my head. The phone displayed the home screen with the unlock finger method.
So if I want to hang up, I need to unlock the screen, then click the conversation bubble and finally click on hang up.
It's, for me, a too long process only to hang up. Does anyone have a solution to display to google phone app screen when I move away the phone from my head ? In order to easily hang up, or also mute, put on the speaker, ...
