Question How to easily hang up with Google phone app ? - OnePlus 9

Hello,
On my OnePlus 9, when I receive a call, I take my phone answer to it without any issue and put it close to my hear. So the screen get black and the screen stay locked.
Unfortunately, at the end of the call, when I want to hang up, I take the phone away from my head. The phone displayed the home screen with the unlock finger method.
So if I want to hang up, I need to unlock the screen, then click the conversation bubble and finally click on hang up.
It's, for me, a too long process only to hang up. Does anyone have a solution to display to google phone app screen when I move away the phone from my head ? In order to easily hang up, or also mute, put on the speaker, ...

Screen goes crazy during call?

Got a new tp2 from sprint. whenever i make a call it flips to home screen then off then back over and over. Also when I call voicemail, the keypad never comes up until i press keypad and while i am listening it goes back to home screen then turns off. whats going on? dam its annoying!
I'm having a similar issue. When ever I remove the phone from my ear while I'm still on a call it goes to the home screen. Very annoying. It will work as it's suppose to some of the time but I'd say 95% of the time I have this issue. Hopefully someone comes out with a fix for this.
Me too (I'm on TMobile). Also, at the end of the call when it asks if you want to add to contacts, it flips back to home if you don't respond fast enough. But the worst is when I'm dialing in for voice mail and need the touchpad; it flips to home and I have to hit the bottom left hard button to get back to the phone.
I assume it's something to do with the way it turns off the touch screen based on the proximity sensor when it's up by your ear, then turns it back on again as you move away from your ear, so no doubt there's a setting somewhere to adjust that.
same here... during a call the screen goes on and off several times. may be light sensor.... who knows
anything that prompts you to make choices by picking numbers becomes a pain unless you use speakerphone. really hoping for a fix
I have no clue if this will last but I changed the setting to lock the phone if it's unused from 30min to 1hr and that seemed to work for now. Changed it back to 30min to double check, it happened first try during the call but worked properly after.
the way its supposed to work is, when you put the phone to your ear the screen goes out when you pull it away it will come on to the call status screen(not the keypad, unless you push keypad then it should stay on keypad, but if you put it to your ear it will go off, when you pull it away it will come back on to the keypad.)this feature is so you do not push buttons with your face.
Same issue...
Orginally seemed to keep on the call status screnn, but now moves to the home screnn when pulled from head.
Any fix would be apprecaited...

TP2 locks for no apparent reason??

I do not have auto lock turned on. I did load the VZW "clean up" cab. I can't figure out why sometime when I pick up the phone the lock is on, and other times the screen is simply turned off. I never hit lock, simply turn off screen or let it go off automatically.
Anyone have an idea?
Thanks.
Are you sure you are not hitting the top button accidentally. That button will turn off the screen.
I do use the top button. It only turns off the screen though, not locks the device. I can use it, then hit it again minutes later and the device is fine. But sometimes I'll put the phone down or aside for a while, and when I pick it up to answer a call or something I'll find it has locked itself and I have to press the soft keys.
hmm... sounds strange, I gotta go with what the 2nd guy said, I will sometimes lock the device myself (the soft key for it is on the home screen after all and it's VERY sensitive). About the screen turning off, you sure it's not just going into it's timed sleep/standby mode?
hopefully this will be of some help...i too had this problem and then i realized what the cause of MY problem was...whenever i would receive a phone call and would let it go to voicemail, when i would wake the phone back up it would be locked...i cant remember if the same thing happened when i answered the call but i know for sure it would do it when i pressed ignore call or mute ringer and let it go to voicemail...SOLUTION:i downloaded a cab called disable auto lock (or sumthing like that) and it fixed the problem...hopefully that helps..

I've been trying to figure this out as well and came to the same conclusion. My screen is off, I answer a call, and when I hangup my screen is locked. I did a quick google search for disable auto lock and didn't have much luck. Can you post the name of the file and where you got it? Thanks
Not sure where I found it, I think PCGeeks, but it was called Disable_Auto_device_lock.cab
HOWEVER...it did not work for me. I may have to cold reboot (from scratch) as I've tried so many different cabs, things are getting messed up. I'm trying to hold off for the ROM update.
The phone will automatically lock if you miss a call. Sometimes if you pick up on the last ring the phone will consider it a missed call and still lock the phone. That has happened on my 6700, my 6800 and now my TP2, but this is the first phone that locks after a missed call. I actually like it becuase since I dont have a S2U2 or 6.5 on the phone it prevents butt dialing if I leave my phone in my pocket or soemthing.
I have noticed the same issue. I also noticed that it did not happen before I had installed the clean up cab. I had thought that the lock button was being hit while the phone was in my pocket.
Although the "Disable auto..." didn't work for me, I down loaded and am trying S2U2. So far, and if I'm not mistake, It did not lock me after a missed call, or answering a call.
I'm going to play with it for a while. Had something similar before on my old Q9c so if it works, great!
I just hope all these friggin cabs work when I update to 6.5, or I may not! The only real pet peeve I have about the TP2 is earpiece volume. If the cab volume booster doesn't work, I won't upgdate!
I have this issue as well. It seems to lock if the person that calls me hangs up before I do. It also locks if I ignore a call. I have had it lock in the middle of a call as well. Really annoying if I need to use the onscreen keyboard to enter information during the call.
I hope someone can find a solution for this. So far, it's my only complaint about this phone.
Well, I've been using S2U2 now for a couple of days. Getting to like it! My screen no longer locks, and I kind of like the Iphone type unlock. When a call comes in 2 nice large buttons for either answer, or end (ignore).
You may want to try it.
Mine does the occasional random lock also and when it does, it wants a password that does not exist. IF anyone knows what the standard password is, please let me know. I don't have one set and need to reboot when this happens. Really my only beef with the phone which hopefully gets fixed in 6.5
I have found that if I receive an SMS the screen will come on on its own. In those circumstances I have seen it lock the screen afterwards.
I am thinking it is a failsafe put into the phone for accidental button hits after the phone wakes up from certain activity but could be in a pocket.

screen not really locked HD2 TMO and ...

HI,
Is there a way to really lock the phone from dialing last number? I mean,if I forgot to lock the phone and put the phone in my pocket. It dials my last number. Is there a way to prevent that besides remembering to lock the phone first.
Also, if its locked in my pocket, can the screen or buttons have a slighter delay from coming on to slide and unlock. I am trying to keep a longer battery life
Lastly, when I am on a call, and I press OK on the call and end up on the main menu while putting the phone back to my face, my face seems like it clicking on stuff. Is there a cab or tool to fix that so when you put the phone back to your face it does not start to engaged stuff.
Thanks

hi, is my question not valid? or am i not explaining it correctly?
1. I think it's easier to just remembering press the "hang up red button" before you put it in your pocket. It is that simple which you do not need an app for that.
2. By doing that will probably not save you much battery power imo.
3. There is a distance detector built-in right next to the battery charging indicator. Your screen is supposed to lock when you picked up a call and put the phone close to your face.
You can do a simple test just to cover the sensor or detector while you are on the phone with others. If your screen does not lock and goes completely blank, there is probably a problem with the sensor.
Hope these help.

[Q] Phone Sleep Too Sensitive

Hello!
I currently am running Jelly Beans ROM Build 8 on my phone and I have come across a strange problem. What I love about this phone is that, unlike my previous phone, when I would answer phone calls and put the phone to my face, the screen would black out/go to sleep so I don't accidentally end the calls with my cheek (with my previous phone I was constantly doing that). However, for some odd reason, if I answer/ignore a call, the sensitivity of the light sensor (or whatever it is called that would it on the top right corner of my phone that would help black out my screen once I put my face to it) is still on like I am in a phone call mode. For example, I go to text and my thumb gets too close to the sensor and the screen blanks out. I have to unlock it and in the process the screen blanks out. If I keep my fingers away from the sensor, it works fine, but I am so confused on why this screen sleep sensitivity continues. If I reboot my phone, it's fine and back to normal, but I don't want to keep doing that every time I answer a call or ignore it. Has anyone come across this problem or can aid me in finding out how to fix it?
Thank you! Any help would be appreciated!
Bump - anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Answer screen goes away--phone continues to ring--how to recover and answer?

When phone rings--not during a locked screen (mainly during listening to a recorded book...) if the screen is touched just off the decline/answer, they go away, the phone keeps ringing, and there's no way to get it back. Any ideas--besides improving dexterity?
