Oneplus One Overheating While Playing Games. - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Using my OPO from more than a year it is fluent and works like charm. But I am recently started facing some problems while playing games and while the phone is in charging. It gets extremely overheated hard to talk on incoming calls because the display is burning like fire. Firstly it was only while gaming and charging but now it happens anytime. When i restart the device in this conditions it always got stuck at boot logo then i have to wait untill it gets cool down after sometimes it works like magic again. I think its a problem of hardware. Any help is appreciated. FYI i am learing mobile repairing but i am not that much experienced in this field so please help me out.

[Completed] Having response problems in the morning/pandora

I just switched from a iPhone 4s and am getting used to Android and the Turbo. I have had it for about a week, and on two of the mornings when I woke up it seems to stall and be unresponsive. I am not the most technology aware person so I am not sure of the cause. When it happens, I reboot the phone and it seems to work okay. Should I take it into the store and get a new one or is this a normal problem with Androids. I am not saying iPhone doesn't do it, but I just want to make sure it's not my phone that is defective before the window passes where I can exchange it.
Note: I do charge it all night, could it have something to do with being on the charger for too long?
Another issue, and it may just be the Pandora App. Pandora seems to be very slow and unresponsive and many times it asks me to send in a report. I am not familiar with this issue and again, do not know if it is the app or the phone.
Any suggestions?
There are cases and reasons when your phone might be slow to act in the morning. It happens some times. Pandora might be more of a symptom in that direction. Can you please specify your device details so we can get more accurate help ?

[Q] Stuttering audio with bluetooth

Hey!
My English are not the best but after allot of searching and testing I really need help and turning me to you!
I have a problem with audio stuttering when using any kind of speakers/headset (SBH50 and a Sony wirelesses speaker) with bluetooth. It works great if I have the mobile on the table right beside me, but if I then lets say puts the mobile in my pocket the stuttering appears instantly. If I then put my hand over my pocket the audio stops and if I then remove my hand the audio comes back stuttering.
I have tried turning off the Wifi, 3G, updating the mobile and the headset, restore both the headset and mobile.
I have the latest update, android 4.4.4 but I got my mobile back yesterday after sending it in on warranty and they changed the motherboard of the mobile to a new one. Before I turned it in the audio was clear and working but it wasn't updated to the latest update from Sony, i am not sure if that could cause this problem?
If you have any information on this that could help me I would be very happy!
This has always happened to me. I can set my phone aside and bluetooth will be perfectly clear, but as soon as it goes in my pocket and I start moving, it will stutter a lot. I always thought it was just how Bluetooth worked, something about static electricity or the warmth of your leg. It seems normal to me, but mine could be malfunctioning as well, who knows?

That is the exact problem I am having! The warmth or static electricity should not affect this, you should definitely have it check out! I am going back to the retailer today and turning it in for the fourth time... But the last repair was there last try so I am getting a new phone and I am sorry to say that my confidence with Sony Z3 is gone with the wind and I will take a Samsung S5 this time instead..
Honestly it doesn't matter to me, I've found many ways around it. I either deal with the slight stuttering having it in my pocket, or put it in my jacket front pocket (which solves the issue), or just set it down somewhere. I love the phone too much to have it traded in for anything that small.
Got the same thing, has anyone tried buying some phone pouch? did it work?

[Q] Screen lag

I've noticed a lot of people complaining about screen lag recently, where everythings just dull and slow (not so much touch issues)- and unfortunately im one off them people!
My phone is the newer branch (november) and im starting to have a slow screen ever since oxygen! i've gone stock 11s n its seem to followed me!
but i really think its heat related, it will be fine for the most part, once it starts getting warm (recently its been getting hotter then normal) the screen goes dull.
THIS IS NOT GHOST TOUCH.
my screen doesnt press random things, the phone is just dull to type on and stuff but only when its hot/warm, and when i say hot, i mean hot..
but im not doing anything different to what i used to and it used to be okay, but then again........weathers getting hotter....
my nexus 4 was horrible when warm also......
currently on cm12 nightly, 06.04.15
tried stock 11s too but only lasted a few hours
If anybodys noticed this PLEASE say something, also if this issue is because my phone is 'defective', will i be able to send it to oneplus for a repair? wil it be worth it? will it be free? how long will it take (*roughly*)
sorry for all the questions and blabber, it's just i've been wondering A LOT and ive not been getting straight answers.
Ps. NEVER had issues BEFORE oxygen. oxygen was NOT on my phone for longer than a day due to the horrible keyboard issues, but the phone was really hot during oxygen......... thanks anyway, :good:
I have the same problem. It seems to happen when my phone has been warm-hot for 15-20 minutes. No ghost touches, but scrolling is really laggy, and sometimes it doesn't register a tap on a link or app. It seems to go away if I let my phone cool down. I've looked everywhere online, and I've seen a few people mention similar problems, but most of the time it's about the ghost touch thing. I really hope it's not a hardware issue. I can't go without a phone for a month and a half for the RMA. People seem to have a lot of issues with RMAs. I'm surprised there aren't more people having this issue.
Also, I'm not on oxygen. I'm having the issue on Euphoria 5.0.2.
I started having the exact same issue two weeks ago, and I did not even try oxygen os. I also bought the phone in november. I tried opening the phone and cleaning the connector but it didn't help at all... now I'm having the issue all the time, not only when the phone is hot and it feels like I have a $30 phone
I really don't know what to do since I opened the phone,so no RMA possible. I bought a Moto E and I'm gonna have to use it until I fix the issue. I dont even know if it's software or hardware, that's a really strange issue.
Edit : the touch screen just worked fine for 2 minutes, then became laggy again

Xperia 5 ii running hot

Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone has had the experience of their 5 mark ii getting hot while using it.
Phone is only a week old , started to do it so try a factory reset to see if that was it still getting hot under use.
Even just browsing it getting hot anywhere up to and over 50.
It this a common problems? Or maybe it's just a bad unit.
Thanks for any help given
A faulty unit. That's for sure. Sony "quality" control in full display! Perhaps, you're not the only one who is getting faulty Xperias, mate.
Mine occasionally is warm to hold when it's charging but not "hot". When not charging I've never had heat but I don't play games on the phone.

Question Overheating and drop to 60Hz

Hi,
I have been using my Xperia 5 III for a week now. Everything is well but the phone overheats when going about completely normal day to day tasks. Just the use of a slightly more intensive application like Uber heats the phone up.
When this happens, the screen automatically drops to 60Hz. I cannot seem to disable this 'feature'. While charging, needless to say, the phone pretty much stays in 60Hz for the first half of charging time due to overheating.
Is the above normal? I don't seem to see any background updates. I would not mind the overheating if the display would just remain at 120Hz. Will rooting or modding be able to overcome this?
Cheers!
not at my dayly use of the X5 III
just went hot at first day of many installations but after than not anymore.
Found a good solution to the overheating: rooted (Magisk) and used Franco Kernel Manager to disable the big core and a couple of the middle ones, thing still absolutely flies, and now never gets hot.

Wow great! Any side effects on incompatible apps, instability issues or bugs? And did you benchmark before and after?

Nothing intensive. Just Uber, Teamviewer and Google Maps. Surprisingly, games do not get the phone hot. I have tried both the German and Hong Kong Xperia 5 IIIs. Same for both.

Can say the same. Many reboots, fastboot, flashmode and back and my Phone is "cold".
Had never a Problem with hot or warm device
And still, having to root and disable a core or something isn't a solution I'm content with. Especially because the 5 II didn't have those problems. I understand they do this to preserve the battery but honestly it didn't really matter with my old phone and I used it a lot when it was hot.
I recently upgraded my 5 II to a 5 III and although I still don't wanna believe it, it's getting pretty obvious that the phone throttles the FPS from 120 to 60 Hz. The Xperia 5 II only did this sometimes when you were charging and gaming simulatenously.
However with the 5 III it sometimes tends to throttle just when you are surfing through the net or using some apps. During gaming without charging it also throttles often.
mine got super hot in like 5 min of instagram or youtube vids. It also tends to get hot and throttle a bit on music playback, i'm starting to assume that is not normal
I haven't noticed any of those with my 5III. It has behaved like my 5II for the last 6 months. Only issue I've had with heat is if I'm shooting a lot of 4k video with the CinePro app in the direct sunlight in the Texas summer.
Only gets hot when streaming.
Besides that, Ive never seen the hot temps message pop up.
