Hi
I am having a problem that just cropped up on a Xoom 3g running unrooted, Motorola Jelly Bean 4.2.1. I am using it on wi-fi only, no Verizon account. The unit will get past the M screen and then ususally hangs up when it gets to the screen with the expanding colored rectangles. Sometimes the home screen will flash up for a split second, sometimes with enough time to log in. In either case it is back to the colored rectangles shortly, even if I get it to log in. I can get to the factory reset screen during the boot and do a full factory reset reload the apps and settings. I have done this twice. It works for about 20 or 30 boots and then colored rectangles show up in the middle of a session and its back to the boot problem.
Questions:
Does anyone have a quick answer?
Will rooting and reloading Android help or it is a hardware issue?
Thanks for any help
John
Have tried a full factory reset without restoring your apps and settings to see if the issue persist?
Strange boot

It seemed to work ok with the apps installed for a while. There were a couple which were suspect and I did not reinstall after the factor reset. It could be a problem though. Maybe I will try the reset again with only a couple of apps. I am still undescided on the root and updating the OS.

Hi again.
I did some thinking and now I suspect the Bluetooth connection. I had enabled an app that required BT (Logitech Harmony Hub). I also enabled the BT but not the app after the second factory reset. I did another factory reset and did not enable Bluethooth. The unit has been running flawless as before. I did a little searching on the web and found a guy with an identicle problem but it was not clear if it was resolved.. Does anyone know know if this is a common problem and if there is a solution. I could not find anything elso on the web or in the formum that helped. If this is a persistant problem, I am wondering if a custom rom would help.
Thanks
John
I can't find a solution to the issue I am having. It happens with all Gaming apps and if I click on a link in Facebook it will close out. The app will close out with no error message. Not sure how to fix it. If traced it down to the initial Google updates after activating phone. If you factory reset the device and stop the auto updates. It will work just fine. If you install the 30 something random google / bloatware apps. The issue comes back. ive also tried flashing the factory firmware a couple times and that didnt work. The S8+ is an ATT phone if that helps.
If anyone can enlighten me, with a fix for this issue that would be grand.
I've search google up and down and cannot find even a mention of this issue.
Hi all, any of you experiencing random freezes and reboots on your one plus 6 8gb? I have tried hard reset and reflash of oxygen is rom via local update but it's still the same. It doesn't happen while opening specific apps. It's just happens randomly while using the phone. I have also tried reinstalling all the apps and it's the same. I am on oxygen os 5.1.11.
Advice appreciated. Thanks!
Seems to be plaguing several people, it happens to me and other users on XDA if you look around. I need the phone for work had have no spare, otherwise I would send it back for a replacement, if that even fixes it...
I had that too before sending back mine, I went back on 5.1.9 and the freezing stopped.
Try that, if you haven't already.

i have the same problem
is there any fix?
So, whenever im seeting up facebook messenger on my VIvo Nex S. It reboots itself before I can complete the setup. No matter what I do, it always happens. I thought it may have been something that I uninstalled using ADB but, I just did a factory wipe tonight, set my my phone back up, and without fail, it did it again. Anyone else expercing this or did experience this and have a solution for it? After I setup it up it never happens again, its just that initial time. It really bothers me.

Did you do a factory reset with Erase All Data and selecting Format Phone Storage? If so, then perhaps contacting VIVO via Facebook might have a solution.
I had a problem with a VIVO update where my Android Message app would not open. I contacted them via Facebook. They had me perform some tasks and send it to them, and now I don't have that problem with their latest update. But I have to say I fixed my problem before they had a fix by Formatting Phone Storage in Erase and Backup setting.
My point is, if this is phone specific, they can fix the problem and add the solution to their future updates if you make them aware of it.
TL;DR: Audio/video freeze on my phone even after factory reset. Flashing new ROM solves the issue except when I start certain apps which causes it to reoccur until I restart the phone.
I have a Poco X3 NFC and shortly after requesting to unlock bootloader I stared having a bug where whenever I played media (spotify, youtube, netflix, etc), the audio and video would stop/stutter every few seconds. The issue occurred both on speakers and bluetooth. After trying unsuccessfully to solve the issue I factory reset the phone and thought that would be it. However even after a factory reset I was still unable to play videos or music. I then tried the next best thing. I flashed the stock fastboot ROM from my computer using the Mi Flash Tool but the issue still continued.
Thinking it could be a problem with MIUI itself I then flashed TWRP and installed ArrowOS with the Optimus Drunk Kernel which greatly helped performance and battery life. For a little while the issue seemed gone but after opening facebook messenger I started having the same issue. A bit of experimenting revealed that some messaging apps like facebook messenger and the dialer caused the issue to reoccur until I restarted the phone and it worked again.
My only theory is that somehow a low level program like the bootloader somehow got corrupted and causes this issue when my messaging apps are running something in the background (although the issue continues after force stopping those apps). Does anyone have any thoughts on this issue or ideas how I can fix it?
