[Completed] ZTE nubia Z5s stuck in recovery. - XDA Assist

I humbly implore the help of the android gods, for I am at my wits end!
For some background, I love this ZTE Z5s it's fast and snappy and well made. Recently I started playing around with google cardboard, got a VR box and I was very impressed. Especially with the cedar point roller coaster VR ride! Some of the other VR apps didnt work correctly, seemingly because I was on android 4.2 (On my Huawei P8 with android 4.4.2 it worked fine)
And so, I was on a mission to upgrade firmware to 4.4.2. seemingly a trivial task, since the 4.4.2 firmware was an official factory release.
When booting into recovery mode CWM 6.0.4.5 (which was in chinese btw. Yeah, a lot of fun to decipher. used English version as guide) I located the 'install from zip' option and pointed it to the new firmware. To my dismay, the update failed. The translation saying something like CWM 6.0.4.5 cant upgrade to 4.4.2 and i need a newer recovery manager.
And then... the recovery loop started. It doesnt boot into anything, shows the nubia symbol and goes straight to recovery.
I have since tried a factory reset, but to no avail. Same recovery loop.
Is anyone able to assist on this? Or have I just gained myself a shiny doorstop? lol
Is this the correct space to post this? Apologies if not.
Also, I have installed android SDK and device is not listed when I run the 'adb_devices' command. Was thinking I could put a 4.2 firmware back on the device, and run CWM again using this.

[Completed] Help with Kyocera Hydro Icon C6730 Softbrick Recovery

I softbricked my Kyocera while updating to new firmware in which the phone died and started to flash the "powered by android" screen. It can't boot beyond that point and I have used the revovery tool to wipe all data and clear the cache partition but it did not fix it. In new to android and I was only using the phone as a music player and did not root it or even attempt to.

[Completed] ZTE Blade Q Maxi

I've had a lot of problems with this phone, FIrst off most rooting methods just simply don't work(SuperOneClick, Framaroot etc), so in the end i used iRoot which i luckily stumbled upon and it thankfully rooted my phone...or so i thought.
Turns out my "su binary" needs to be reinstalled so that i can finally use something other than Kingroot(I wanted SuperSU), and i've found F*ck all about how to do that,so skip a few months later and want to try a new rooting application, so i download SuperSU (again) and unroot without a hitch, use "Kingoroot" and the problem still persists, although Kingo says that my bootloader is locked, and so i 've been trying to unlock the bootloader for a while now to no avail, even after i downloaded http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/android-one-general/tool-master-tool-unlock-bootloader-t2997696 it reboots my device and just puts it into recharge mode, and BTW did i tell you that CWM doesn't work on my phone?
So, yeah in short, all i want is to install SuperSU and make it work (unlock the bootloader), and install a custom rom, thanks.

[Completed] Porting LP rom to MTK6582 Lenovo a588t

hi guys, ive got myself a most unusual phone, its a lenovo A588t flip phone running android 4.4 with kernel 3.4.67 and MTK6582 quad core 1.3GHz chipset, its a phone that seems to have no support whatsoever, not even a stock rom on the internet or lenovo's website.
now, im trying to port lollipop to it as the current rom has crap forged in the rom like Clean master and DU speed booster etc, i delete the system apps using Titanium backup and they all return after rebooting
ive never done a rom port before so i tried a few tutorials on google on the subject and they all seem way too complex, dont make sense or is telling me to copy a file that doesnt exist & i get something wrong, ive tried pre-made roms from mtkroms.com and not one of them actually installed, never mind booted up, giving an error: (status 7), the phone has a seemingly old version of clockworkmod recovery installed similar to the one used on a Google Nexus One
i tried to setup "cygwin" but a week later its still installing so gave up on that.......
im in need of expert help, what Lollipop ROM do i use as the base rom, what files do i edit/replace with the stock rom, what is the easiest method of doing such thing?
also, is android kitchen any use?
any help greatly appreciated
