Hello everyone,
Today I hereby announce the initiation of The Flamingo OS project.
Anybody who wants to join this project can join. Following are the qualifications:
*Should have little knowledge of source building.
*Should be knowing about custom roms.
*Should have knowledge of linux commands(This is optional).
Purely CyanogenMod based rom.
Flamingo OS will be actually initiated in May.
Anybody who wants to join must qualify the above. Anyone who has good knowledge of developing websites and has money can also apply.

can also make it for a110 as we need upgradation to flash kitkat based roms..
also the recovery should have selinux..

We can make it ourselves, with selinux, but it requires work. Are you going to help @WalkerBales. Also we can flash it through bond bro's CTR recovery or by varunchitre15's twrp 2.5.0.0.

Miui V5 on N900 (Let's start working on it!)

So Miui V5 released kitkat version of it's rom. I think there is nothing much left for us to not to try porting it. I'll give it a shot tomorrow =)

it is possible to use tw as base but i dont know if it will boot without modifying the kernel

I tried porting this all night. I followed MIUIs porting instructions by the letter but I do not get further than the bootlogo. Sadly I have no idea how to get a meaningful error message out of this. Any suggestions? (Or anyone wanting to team up on this?)

I'm going to try the instructions I just saw that they release kitkat version of miui for mi3 and I'll try it like I did on my old One X, try to port it on the samsung rom

Yes. When you try following their instructions you will get their bootlogo animation but then the device will be stuck there. As far as I understand it is not possible to get a logcat at this stage so I am out of ideas how to meaningfully debug this?

I'm trying to set the environment at the moment I'll give it a shot and what'd be the worst anyways? I'll get a boot loop

There is one guy I saw posted on a rooting thread that he has developed a ROM for this device but, does not know how to write the updater-script so he is looking for help with that. Perhaps you can help.

i wish! i know nothing about development. :crying: i would love to learn. but that doesnt help anyone here. i started a step by step to port CM but got stuck because i couldnt find kernel source. PLEASE someone, we got root, now get us off touchwiz!

I have ported roms in the past to Kindle Fire HD from the Nexus tabs. It's way easier to port than to build a rom from scratch. The tricky part is finding the easiest roms to work with.

Well I can't do either.
Wouldn't we want to get something on here other than stock?

Well I would think that you would need a working custom recovery with external SD card support first. Though the big feature I am looking forward to is a kernel that supports Roehsoft Ram Expander (swap) which while it works fine on my S3 does not work at all on the Tab 4 7.0.

There is a fully working recovery with SDcard read/write support as mentioned in THIS post.
What I did was downloaded the TWRP 2.8.0.1 .img for t230 then flashed it over the older non-working TWRP using #Rashr. It works for me on SM-T230NU and wipe works. Dalvik/Cache, everything.

Yep I know nothing happens. But just open it in internet explorer (assuming you used chrome, just like I did).

i did this and phone stuck on boot screen. now it wont power on or charge. wonderful!

I already have root (by using vroot and then replacing the chinese app with supersu). Can I just flash TWRP with Rashr or do I need to redo the whole thing from scratch?

I resstored the device in odin to the latest factory firmware then flashed the twrp in odin, rebooted directly to recovery and flashed supersu. Rebooted to system, set up all my stuff and flashed the new twrp over the old twrp using rashr. I had to reboot once to set up rashr before i could flash but, it all worked perfectly for me

cant start over if it wont turn on at all and i believe the battery is dead and it wont charge.
ive read about this issue with other galaxy tabs (2,3) and i need to open up and disconnect battery, i will try this when i get home. i hope it does something after. i just got this thing.
i cant just flash the good twrp instead of one over the other?

This is a CyanogenMod port for Doogee F5. Please keep in mind that it is deep in testing phase and probably contains lots of bugs.

Collect logcat, dmesg, and other log data. Very nice guide can be found HERE
Create a bug report ticket on the github repository with the log data and description of the issue occuring. You can report the bug here, but it is easier for me to track the progress of fixing the bug, and I'll notice it quicker if you post it on github
Install guide
Download the latest image from the Downloads section
Download and install CR recovery (Release 0.3 or later!) HERE
Wipe data, cache and dalvik cache (factory reset)
Flash the downloaded zip package
Flash latest GAPPS package for Android 5.1 (if you want to)
Reboot (First boot takes a while)

I cant fix it as noone bothers to actually send me the logs so I could know why this happens and fix it.

Hi, I have this device, but its my daily driver and I had several occurrences where Chinese devices break down, so I'd like to preserve warranty. After it expires I'll start developing for it full time. Now I need someone who could test it.

Oh I get it, I have a galaxy s6 as my daily driver too and, since I'm from Italy, I dont care about chinese phones warranty (it would cost me more the delivery and time waiting lol).
Btw sticking back to topic, I've tried to flash through twrp the latest 0119 build but it gives back error (during flashing in twrp) saying "wrong model, this is for f5 and device model is m2" o.0

Flash using my recovery. Twrp doesn't come from a trusted source (the dev didn't even supply the source code), so I cant tell anything about it. But this error is because I changed the device id from some very strange retarded one (something like this: x59_dg) to a more user readable f5. You could remove the lines that check for the device id (should be the first ones) from the updater-script inside the flashable zip.

well twrp is a port from a friend of mine, I dont think he published any sources but I can tell he can be trusted btw I'll try what you adviced and report back ASAP

No, I havent had time to adb-it, have just tried to install adb drivers and see if it was recognized but it wasn't and having no time to test didnt try more.

Downloaded 20170908 and tried to install but ran into the same issue. I'm using TWRP 3.1.0-r1.

I edited the update-script to allow a null device name ie. "" and was able to install. Looking forward to the next build.

I tried it although it installed after showing the bootloader warning it just went to the fast boot screen without showing any boot logo whatsoever. Guess there is a reason why this isn't public yet.
