I have a LG octane that I have had for years. I transferred a lot of pictures, text messages and contacts to it for safe keeping. Well just so happens that my lovely little girl(8yrs old) got a hold of my phone and erased everything.... It does not have a u.s. debugging mode on it and it is not rooted. Any help to get all of this stuff back would be greatly appreciated. Can anyone help me or is all of this stuff gone for good?

Hey guys I was messing around with my Zio m6000 which I got recently but was unable to find software recovery mode even though I tried all possible button combos. (FYI I have up down volume rockers a send key a camera key and an on off /cancel button) my home button is screen/software touch Dependant.
I recently rooted it and decided I would make a backup image. I used clockworks free app to try to create a backup image. I selected a phone model close to my phone specs because my phone model is new it didn't have it as a choice. the phone rebooted.
That is it. There is no recovery image yet and I am unable to get passed the kyocera boot screen.
I can access 2 things:
1. is a blue screen which says "Modem download mode !!" when I plug that in via usb it says on my pc "kyocera Diagnostics interface (COM9)"
2. fastboot mode.
I have done a couple google searches but to no avail. I am wondering if there is some way to load recovery mode or to perform a factory reset Via USB or SD card or using some SDK commands?...
help me out here guys

Are you kidding? I sure hope you're kidding. You're not supposed to Flash a ClockWork Recovery Image to your phone if it isn't meant for your phone... come on. That's basic. But on the good side, I'm sure if you FastBoot Flash something you should be able to get it to load. You gots the uhm, BootLoader working?
BTW - How is that phone? I was considering it, but it looks kinda crappy (no offense?)
I cant seem to get to a boot loader. The last time I tried it via some software it factory reset my phone. The only thing I can think of is that they have tried to make it hard for modders. not to say its impossible but just hard.
in my defence about the backup, First off I was just trying to back up my phone.. I had good intentions. 2ndly I didn't think the profile mattered because I thought I was just going to make an image of MY phone by doing it.
This good news you speak of, I hope we can get to it without a boot loader :I
The phone is decent however it can be a bit sluggish at times and the CDMA network only works in the carrier browser and not for apps ect. The GPS works well and is solid. Battery life is decent when im not using it otherwise I can use the web on the phone via Wifi for about 3 hours before it goes dead Disappointing.
Thanks for the reply and please if anyone has any ideas let me know.

Hmm, care to share the details on how you can root the Zio?
Sure anyone who can help me fix my phone will find out.
::Bump:: Im still needing some help on this guys. Help me out please?

Well guys at the end of my rope here with my phone so I gave it to my gf to play with the buttons for a bit.... she actually figured out how to get it to boot! up button and power button loaded a blue screen that flickered and and went to the carrier screen and booted... all my settings are saved phone is still rooted Woot!
I have actually been looking how to get into recovery mode JUST because I didn't have anything to do and was searching for Zio stuff, and it brought me here lol.
Power + Up...
At least you posted this on the forum.
I'm really hoping that more people pick up the Zio.
I would hate to be the only one interested in tinkering with the phone.
Just a case of being a little too late lol.
Glad you found the fix though.
Good Luck
If you don't mind me asking, what did you use to backup your phone?
I am pretty new to the Android scene (Not new to phone hacking but I'm new to Android) and I know that some applications will work and some wont.
I want to make a proper backup before I start messing around with things I know nothing about.
Okay a little clarification / interesting news...
1. Power + up button worked 1 time to let me boot my phone... I tried to restart my phone to test and see if I could still use my phone and it will not get past the Kyocera screen again.
2. Power + up does not boot the phone to any type of menu or recovery mode it only downloads modem data over the air,
so guess what?
3. After using power + up I apparently switched my phone to some type of Verizon pre paid phone which could not call out or receive calls. Wifi still worked and all my apps / data was still there.
4. I am going to have to replace my phone and not make the same mistake again.
5. I have documented this whole process and will be releasing a guide after I can get my new phone going. A guide to rooting and backing it up after I successfully back it up.
6. The program that I used was clockworks recovery free but the problem is they do not have the Kyocera Zio m6000 phone model! DO NOT USE CLOCKWORKS RECOVERY UNTILL HE HAS YOUR PHONE MODEL! You will be right where I am.
I’m going to try a couple more things before I break down and get a new phone...
I will keep you all posted.

Yeah man, those recovery images are phone specific apparently so I would imagine it could do some bad things to let one rip. Maybe shoot [email protected] an email?
I did the same thing, I figured out the way to boot it up but now I am on a verizon network, like the op. I am going to call Cricket customer support and see what they can do.
EDIT: Here is the fix
Go to Settings>Wireless Controls>Mobile Networks and choose home only. Now exit and open the Dialer and press*228 send and let the phone program.
EDIT 2 : Ok well this gets the phone working but does not restore Mobile Web/Data services. Returned phone to cricket and had it replaced free of charge
I am facing the EXACT same issue. I cant get it to boot for the life of me. Its stuck with Kyocera/Modem mode/ or fast boot and thats it. It's just driving me insane. Clockworks free did this to me too
This phone is OVER!
so after having many problems with this phone and the many replacements I just got the HUAWEI Ascend! Its tons better! many of the problems i had with Zio are totally solved by swapping it to the Ascend. I recommend to anyone thinking about Zio, Save your money and buy an Ascend!
Dont even buy the replacement phone for the zio if you have the chance! A replacement costs 80 bucks if you upgrade to the Ascend its $120. Well worth the money in my case.

How do I get my android back? Or, Can I?
This will become obvious, so here it is... I/Me = Noob. Thanks for the patience in advance.
I did a good month of research & playing around before, then finally installed ClockWorkMod & rooted my S2. Was up late trying to get something done on it & had just installed cwm. I choose the option within cwm to "backup" and let it run it's course, assumed (never, I know) this was done correctly & I was free to do what I love, customize - optimize - edit - etc. Well, apparently is was not done. I realized this last night and immediately scrambled (panicked) & may have made my matters so bad that I will be walking into the Sprint store with my tail, & ego, between my legs forking over some hard earned cash.
I formatted all files within "Mounts and Storage," cleared all "caches" and did a "wipe data/factory reset" - Basically did every option I could at least 2x's.
I did look for the back up - but it was not there (prior to all wipes)
I feel like I can get my phone back witch is stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S2 screen when on, and the battery pic when on charger. But, I need access to the external SD drive so I can install the files that I have on my CPU. I have researched this all day! Took off work today, and tomorrow seemingly. If this is a hopeless task, for the love of all things righteous, someone please put me out of my misery!
BTW - First post ever on any site. I am smart enough to know that when it comes to this stuff I cannot keep being hard headed and not asking for help. I just hope its not to late.
Thanks. Apparently l only the cool people are allowed to post and actually get a response. I am so glad I paid for this bull$hit. Middle finger at ya
If you can only access cwm them you should be able to download a ROM for your phone and flash it within CWM.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
Seriously? That's definitely a good attitude to hold when you don't receive help. Just get hostile with the people you are requesting help from! But I digress. Well, if you did indeed botch a backup somehow, it sounds like all you need to do is just flash another ROM or something and you should be golden. The backups are stored in your external SDcard for future reference though, under CWM -> Backup.
In response to the attitude... what else would you have me do when I need help, I ask, and I am ignored? Plus, my tactic worked, but, I digress.
In the days of emptiness with no help, I list cwm and now have real problem. I can still access default recovery mode, and a screen that says got to kies and do recovery mode. My main issue after several hours troubleshooting, is, I cannot get my phone to be recognized by any drive on my laptop. It will also not respond to being charged.
I have already replaced the dam phone, but I am not giving up on the seemingly fubarred one.
Without sarcasm, thank you for your response and attempted assistance. I do appreciate it, despite what you feel about any prior comments.
I have a HTC M7 which won't connect to Moborobo. I have two other phones that do. The M7 keeps coming up with a screen that tells me to put it into usb debug mode but it already is. The phone is rooted and unlocked. I thought this maybe the problem so I was going to relock the phone but read that I can clear everything and possibly even brick the phone, hence why I am now running it past the people here. I just want to transfer all my contacts, sms, data, photos etc to my new phone as well as perform backups, and I have found this program to be awsome in doing that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Wayne
Surely someone has thoughts on why I can't communicate with my phone. I don't believe this is an issue with connecting to mobo. I believe it is something to do with the phone being rooted and not having the right setup.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Hello there,
My dad uses a LG L90 D410. He is 70+ and he has no technical info on how to use the phone except to make calls, sms and watch movies on SD card and he doesn't have gprs/3g activated as well. He wanted to upgrade the firmware phone which he purchased in 2015 and he is did it when i was not at home. And that resulted in a boot cert verify loop.
Every time he boots up the phone it ends up as
Boot certification verify
Secure booting Error!
Cause: boot certification verify
This phone is not important but the data is. It has all the photo of mom who happen to pass away 2 years back.
I can hard reset the phone.
But is there any way to recover the photos, sms and also back up the phone numbers without doing a hard reset?
I can get an decent money phone for my dad, but my mom's photo and memories who is dead? i cant.
one plus 5 8 gb/128 gb - 38,000
dual sim - airtel 600/month/card
loosing mom's photo who is dead and never going to come back? - PRICELESS.
there are some things which money cant buy for everything else there are other many things.
So can someone or anyone tell me how to recover the photos and sms and phonebook will be literally the biggest help of my life.
thanks in advance.
-----
I repeat i am not looking for how to hard reset, i am looking for a method to extract mom's photos and sms back. She sent those to dad when she was alive. So kindly only let me know how to recover those if possible at all. Just the photos of mom and smses she sent to dad. phone book optional.
-----
hoping against hope.
forgot to mention its not rooted.
and also it has stock firmware and stock bootloader as well.
because dad never cared if its rooted or not. it my mistake that i should have rooted it. sigh. just hints and pointers on how to get it done will do really. thanks to those who read this post and thanks in advance to those who is/are willing to help me recover the data.
its 3 am now india time and what a bad day, i tried to fix it since 2 pm.
Hi all! Apologies if this is a repeat. I was up until nearly 5am last night, trying to fix this, and I sifted through the 125 pages of the help thread AND the other threads on this site, but nothing seemed to help me out. Right now I've got a phone that I had to factory wipe, and I'm devastated by the loss of almost a year of memories. I'm really hoping someone can help me!
I have a SM-G903V through Verizon (who were not at all helpful when their cloud failed me so miserably) and it was upgraded last week with the standard update. Prior to this it was stock and had never been rooted (although I dabbled in rooting several years ago with a Nook Tablet).
Yesterday, while transferring pics to my computer, I accidentally deleted an entire file with the most recent pictures (basically my whole 'camera' folder ever since we upgraded to S7 last October). I attempted to use a recovery program (FoneLab) to retrieve the files, but found that the root portion failed everytime. Through research, I learned what we all obviously know now -- that the bootloader is locked. I used a tutorial I found that was dedicated to my phone specifically, to try and unlock the bootloader so that I could recover the lost stuff.... and ended up in the dreaded boot loop. Every single method of getting out of the loop failed -- including the factory wipe!! I ultimately had to use Odin to completely reinstall the firmware and now everything (EVERYTHING!!!) is gone. All my settings, my music, my pictures and videos (including my snarky gif folder for Twitter use!!! )... the only thing the cloud restored was my contacts (anything older than about a month ago) and texts. Some of it is still on my PC from the original recovery attempt with FoneLab, but the good stuff is completely gone.
HELP! Am I screwed? Is there no hope of getting any of it back? I feel like it has to still be buried in the phone somewhere, because nothing ever really goes away..... but I don't know how to get it back. I've cried many tears and lost a whole lot of sleep in the last 18 hours. We lost stuff from a whole vacation, a wedding, countless family events, all of the videos/stuff we were compiling for my son who is hoping to enter the national development program for USA Hockey.... I feel like the worst mom ever.
:crying: Can someone help me?
I'm not completely a noob, and my husband is actually an IT tech, but he doesn't do a lot with Android. His coding background is in credit union software. But a lot of the coding lingo on this site goes a bit over my head.
Sounds like a complete nightmare! I made a mistake with an app (Package Disabler) which resulted in a factory reset and I lost so many photos etc too!
If you root your phone there might a chance to recover the files (warranty might be void). I doubt it though since you have done a factory reset which probably means the data is overwritten.

Because of Oding flash and/or the factory reset (in Recovery I think) your data is lost. the key to encrypt the interal space would be deleted. I don´t think that there is any way to recover the data.
