I don't know much about Android. But recently I bought a DoCoMo S4. When I upgraded it to lollipop I encountered a problem that soft keys were not functional. I tried to get help from different sites and followed the step. But was unable to get that issue resolved. Then I tried the following method and it worked. I am sharing my experience here.
1. Download odin 3.10 to your computer running ms Windows
2. Download latest stock rom from Sam mobile site.
3. It will be a zip file, extract it in a folder.
4. Open odin on your computer and attached your phone via USB cable.
5. Be sure that USB drivers are installed.
6. In odin click on BL and there access the file you extracted at step 3
7. Once file is loaded. Bring your phone to download mode. To do so. Press volume down key, home key simultaneousl. While holding the two keys press the power button. When phone turn on leave the keys. After that press volume key up.
8. Now press start button on odin.
9. Wait for the process to get finished.
10. Enjoy

I have P3113 (Tab 2 7.0). I installed the leaked JB supposedly for the P3113. I would like to go back to stock 4.0.4. When I try to connect to my PC when in Android system recovery <3e>, the tablet is not seen by ODIN. I see no errors when I look at the device properties. How can I proceed?
I can communicate with the tablet when I am booted in JB. I can place ZIP files on my external SD card.
Is there any firmware that I could install directly from the external SD card that would allow me to get back to a stock 4.0.4?
You need to be in fastboot not recovery... instructions are different - a different key combo on boot... I don't remember what it is right now...

Found the following instructions online:
2.Turn off your Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 GT-P3113.
3.Reboot your Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 GT-P3113 into Download Mode. You can do that by pressing and holding the Volume Up key (right key on the Volume rocker) and Power button. When a warning message appears, press the Volume Down key (left key on the Volume rocker) to continue into Download Mode.◦NOTE: To avoid confusion, the left Volume key refers to the button closest to the Power button. On the other hand, the right Volume key refers to the button farthest from the Power button.
4.Extract Odin3-v1.85_3.zip to a folder on your computer.
5.Click Odin3 v1.85.exe to launch Odin on your computer.
6.Using your USB cable, connect your tablet to the computer. The word “Added” will appear on Odin. If it doesn’t appear, make sure you have installed the necessary drivers on your computer.
Downloaded supposed stock 4.0.4, but it doesn't completely boot. It stops with a flashing SAMSUNG.
Anny suggestions?

Yeah, those instructions are ass backward, the "right volume key" as they call it is the VOLUME DOWN not volume up, volume up is the one closest to the power button.
With the tab turned off press and hold power and volume down (the further from the power button volume key) to access download mode that can be recognized by Odin.
OP, you are in recovery, you DO NOT flash with Odin when in recovery, you do it from download mode.

I understood that, but the instructions are better than others that I found and I was able to get the tablet to work wiht ODIN. What I still can't do is install a stock 4.0.3 or 4.0.4 that works.

Download the ROM zip in the first post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2007876&highlight=restore
open the zip on the computer and extract the file HOME_P3113UEBLH2_999349_REV04_user_low_ship.tar.md5 now REMOVE the .md5 extension off the end of the file as Odin doesn't recognize that extension, file name should end with the .tar extension
after flashing the ROM, if you bootloop do the volume up and power button combo to boot into recovery and wipe data/factory reset then reboot and give it a few minutes to boot up the first time.

try to find a tar.md5 package with a .pit file specifically for your device..,
alternately try flashing a stock Honeycomb ROM.. and booting into recovery and factory reset.
Most importantly research and read, If you can get into Download mode you're 90%+ will be OK
Get ClockworkMod recovery from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2112667
Use odin to flash it
boot to recovery
wipe system and cache
use odin to install your stock rom again
boot
I was unhappy with the ICS, kept crashing my phone. So I decided to flash to stock with these instructions:
---------------------------------
Extract the contents of SGH-T769-UVLB7-k0nane.7z to your computer. You’ll get a file named SGH-T769-UVLB7-hitsquad.tar.
Extract Odin-185.zip to your computer. You’ll get two files: Odin3.ini and Odin 1.85.exe.
Double-click on Odin 1.85.exe to launch Odin3.
Turn off your phone completely.
Put your phone in Download Mode by pressing the Volume Up, Volume Down, and the Power buttons at the same time.
In Odin3, make sure that all the options are unchecked except for “Auto Reboot”.
Click on the PDA tab and select SGH-T769-UVLB7-hitsquad.tar.
Click on the PIT tab and choose the blaze.pit file which you downloaded earlier.
Connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable. Odin3 should recognize it when it displays “Added!” on the message box at the bottom.
Hit the Start button in Odin3 to start the procedure.
Once the procedure is done, your phone will reboot.
Close Odin3 and disconnect your phone to your computer.
Congratulations! You’ve successfully reverted to stock factory firmware and unbricked your Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G SGH-T769.
-----------------------------------------
So it said it was a success in Odin, then when restarted I was stuck in the setup wizard. It would always pop up errors:
"the application google services framework has stopped unexpectedly, please try again."
What can I do - PLEASE HELP!
Thanks
Mirc
Hey guys, my friend just gave me his phone model Gt-i5800 to fix, and it stuck in boot (startup). First, I though that just a simple flash will be enough, but it didn't work, I tried to flash it with Odin, but doesn't download all files it stuck there too, can't access recovery as well.
you will be able to tell from this picture.
any ideas?
and thanks.
Plug the device in and charge to 100% on wall outlet.
Download and install Kies 2.6 onto you Windows PC. (While the device charges.)
Open Kies and update if necessary.
When Charged, Plug the device into the PC using OEM cord. Press the "Home" button and make sure battery reads 100%.
Place device into ODIN Download mode. (Press and "HOLD" the Volume Down, and Home buttons. Then "Press and Release" the Power button for 1 second. KEEP holding the two buttons until the warning message or Android appear.)
Inside the Kies Software, select "Tools", then "Update and Initialize Device" follow instructions on the screen.
Note: Once Kies is showing that it is downloading, it would be good to browse to your TEMP folder (Located in Windows 7 @ C:\Users\*Your User Name on Computer*\Local\Temp) and COPY the "Tmp.***.zip" file that will appear to you "Desktop" while the device is reprogrammed. This is the complete factory image of your device, and may be needed later to ODIN Flash if Kies fails!
Hey guys, I know that most have doubts on rooting Samsung f41 . let's go step by step
This method does not brick your phone [Fully Tested] the only thing is you have to follow all steps properly
1. go to developer settings ( to enable it go to About phone software information tap the build number 5 to 7 times ) activate "allow oem unlock", and turn off the device, connect it to the computer with a cable, and, as soon as you plug in the cable, press volume + and volume - at the same time, then, press and hold volume +, after this, just press one time the volume up button to confirm, the bootloader will be unlocked and the device reset, as soon as the screen "erasing" disappears.
2. Now go to download mode for that power of your phone and press vol up and vol down at the same time and plugin your charger wire which is connected to your pc and that's all
3. make sure your computer recognized your device in download mode, go to odin, go to "AP", and select the root file according to your android version, press "start", and it's done! just install magisk apk and let the app do the additional configuration
NOTE - every time when you turn on your device, a black screen will appear saying that the software is not official from samsung, just press power, it's normal.
on oneui 2/2.5, the root is a little bit unstable, but on oneui 3 it's solved, I recommend OneUi 3 for being more stable and updated.
