[Completed] Asus zenfone 2 laser ze550kl (2gb ram) suddenly blacks out(screen dead) - XDA Assist

1)The day had been quite nice. All was going well.Suddenly, while testing the one-handed mode in my ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser(ZE550KL),the screen adjusted itself in landscape mode, the it blacked out.But still, the three touch buttons(Back,Home,Overview) give haptic feedback and appear to be working. The LED notification light is also working. In the locked mode, when I draw the 'C' gesture for camera, the camera app opens ,proof is that I heard the sound of taking a pic with the volume rocker. But when I unlock the screen, only a faint backlight is seen. When I long press the power button ,the phone automatically reboots itself. Please provide urgent help. This is my father's phone actually, and he has to attend a extremely important conference in Dubai, consisting of high profile delegates.
2)Second thing, twice I received OTA updates from ASUS.Both times they failed.
I was thinking of de-bricking the phone(kinda) by applying the update via adb.I have also downloaded the latest firmware file(zip) from asus.com/support.
What do I do now?

[Completed] Black screen on samsung galaxy tab 4 problem

Ok so i have my sisters samsung galaxy tab4 ( sm-t230nu ) which she brought to me today.
Her screen went black, lights up and all but it stays black in color. Up down volume buttons work and u can hear them working, power button works, turns screen on and off, TOUCH SCREEN WORKS, on certain areas u can hear the noise it makes when u tap on the screen and apps. I pressed the power button alone for it to restart, it restarts but does not show samsung tab logo or anything at all just lit up black screen. I even went on YouTube to memorize the hard reset sequence of buttons u have to press in order to complete the reset and i did manage to hard reset. But screen is still booting up on a lit black screen. I removed the back cover, unplugged the battery and tried booting it up and still nothing. BTW its full factory, no root roms or anything of the sort. I need help on what could be the problem. Only thing i believe might have caused this was a recent update on the system. My sister sais a few days ago it gave her a notification about it and she clicked on yes. I dont know what version of android it had nor which it had updated to. Please help. Tablet is not that old. Thanks. If anything email me directly at [email protected] thanks

[Completed] Disabling screen-on/wake-up reaction to change in power status?

I've noticed that my rooted XT1527 2nd Gen MotoE will automatically "wake up"/turn it's screen on whenever it recognizes that it has been given a power source (or the power source has been taken away).
Basically, every time I plug in, or unplug the power cord, the phone's screen flicks on in recognition of the change in power status. I want to disable this and have the phone screen only turn on if I physically press the power button.
The reason I'm asking is because I am experimenting with charging my phones with solar panels. Things work great when it's very sunny out, but when it's cloudy, even though the phone stays plugged to the solar panel, the charging source flickers in and out with the clouds (which seems to be the equivalent of plugging and unplugging the phone from the commercial charger in rapid succession). When this happens, the phone's screen turns on in recognition of either gaining or losing the power source, and on cloudy or rainy days, this process happens so frequently that the phone screen essentially stays on all day and slowly drains itself of battery much more quickly than it would have if it didn't feel the need to turn on the screen every time the power source came back or went away.
Any suggestions for how to disable this "screen on to recognize change in power status" feature?
My phones are rooted and I've made some simple firmware modifications to them, but I'm definitely a n00b.
I won't go into the details, but I'm using the phones for scientific research, which is the reason for the solar panels. I want my phones to be able to stay on and collect data, but I don't want that screen waking up and flicking on every time there's a change in power status! I'd love to be able to get rid of this feature! Any ideas? Maybe there are apps that would allow me to do this? I'm not even sure what to search for.
(I posted this question in the MotoE-specific forum as well, before I realized XDA Assist was an option, and I'm not sure how to delete that post. Apologies for this double-posting)

[Completed] bright bar on top of my screen - android 5.1.1

Hello together
I have kind of a strange problem. Yesterday I got my new tablet (IRULU X1S) and it's a pretty neat thing, runs fast and everthing was working fine.
Then I have been using the chrome browser and let the tablet lie around. When the screen was darkening (because of idle) I turned the tablet and the screen tilted. Since then there is a bright bar on top of my screen (if I hold the phone upright).
When I tilt the Phone the bright bar stays at the same place, meaning the bar is now on the side.
Its almost as thick as the status bar and it's way brighter than the rest of the screen.
One could say the rest of the screen still seems "darkened".
What is really really weird is, the bright bar is even visible if I enter the phone "root" menu (pressing vol down und power). The top pixels seem brighter than the rest.
Is this a known Android poblem? It can't be a burn in, because it happened after tilting the screen and is there since then.
I tried to remove all apps that I installed and even factory reset the tablet. The bright bar is there in every screen, on the bootscreen and also in the "root" menu. Is there maybe a way to reset the phone to all defaults, e.g. putting a new OS on the phone? Because it has to be a software bug...
Thanks for reading and I hope you have some ideas how to fix this!

[Completed] Teclast X10 not turn on display

Hallo I have a Teclast X10 and I have a problem, strange problem. Since a time the power button does not work properly: it turns on the tablet, it turns off the display but it does not turn on the display again. It is not always like this, sometimes it works (less and less times) but when I am not able to turn on the display if y press the volume button I can hear the sound of the volume, but the only solution is to reste the tablet but the micro-button.
I think it is a software problem but this tablet is only used to youtube and videos.
Could anybody help me?
