[Completed] bright bar on top of my screen - android 5.1.1 - XDA Assist

Hello together
I have kind of a strange problem. Yesterday I got my new tablet (IRULU X1S) and it's a pretty neat thing, runs fast and everthing was working fine.
Then I have been using the chrome browser and let the tablet lie around. When the screen was darkening (because of idle) I turned the tablet and the screen tilted. Since then there is a bright bar on top of my screen (if I hold the phone upright).
When I tilt the Phone the bright bar stays at the same place, meaning the bar is now on the side.
Its almost as thick as the status bar and it's way brighter than the rest of the screen.
One could say the rest of the screen still seems "darkened".
What is really really weird is, the bright bar is even visible if I enter the phone "root" menu (pressing vol down und power). The top pixels seem brighter than the rest.
Is this a known Android poblem? It can't be a burn in, because it happened after tilting the screen and is there since then.
I tried to remove all apps that I installed and even factory reset the tablet. The bright bar is there in every screen, on the bootscreen and also in the "root" menu. Is there maybe a way to reset the phone to all defaults, e.g. putting a new OS on the phone? Because it has to be a software bug...
Thanks for reading and I hope you have some ideas how to fix this!

screen problems... help please!

i have XDA trion and apart of the problem i have with teh alignment of the screen which i find out that is practically unsolvable, i have another problem which is as much annoying as the alignment one:
when i tap on an area somewhere in the center of the screen it closes my window in portrait mode and opens start menu in landscape mode (obviously when i tap there it actually taps on the upper right corner where the X button is when in portrait and the start menu when in landscape )
that does happen only when i tap in a little area right at the center of the screen and seems to be different from the usual misallignment that i have (and many others )
can anyone help me please
thanks
welcome to the forum,
I recommend using the hardware buttons to go to start/settings/system/screen/align
and if that doesn't help, hard reset

i already installed a new ROM but still doesnt fix it ...
mabe i will have to end up spending 100 EU for new screen
any otehr suggestions?
sorry, I assumed you were new due to join date and first post, hence my first reply.
give us a couple more details when you post please, such as did you buy it brand new/second hand? if it's not new how long have you had it? has it just started doing this recently after behaving like a good pda for ages? or has it always done this? which rom are you running? and is it the official one?
anyway, you could try removing the casing and clean around the edges of the screen, I've read of dirt/grime getting built up and stuck, which can cause this problem. if you don't know how to remove the case (I don't either)-Google
good luck

[Q] [X10] Motherboard with water damage - repair ?

Hi there,
sorry for starting a new thread, but there are some special circumstances which are making me to think that the device can be brought back to life again
a got a broken x10 from a friend of mine. it had a water damage, but can still be powered on (vibrates on press of power button). MTP also works, so i think android boots up completely. the problem: the display does not work. first, i thought of a damaged display, so i switched the motherboard only in my old x10, which works. but, the same problem here, the display stays black. The notification LED works, and the left LED at the Hardware Buttons (Home, Back, Drawer), too.
Touch is working, too. If i press the Home Key (usually the lockscreen would appear) and touch the display, where the unlock slider should be, the phone vibrates.
So i concluded, that the malfunction of the display must be caused by the motherboard.
And here is the question - if all except the display is working, is there any chance to bring the device completely back to life ? Any advices ?
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

[Q] Galaxy I9003, weird touch screen malfunction... please help

Hi guys, i got this used I9003 yesterday and pretty much everything works as expected. its running 2.2.1 (yes, i need to update it), speed is ok... everything but this weird screen malfunction. i read every thread i could find and in almost every case people ended up "deciding" there was a hardware problem.
so, here's what's happening with the screen:
mostly, when i try to start an app it does fine. typing in landscape, fine. swiping through the gallery, browsing... everything fine. the weird part is sometimes the upper part of the screen seems at least partly unresponsive (i mean i need to tap like crazy and it just might respond). it doesn't matter if the screen is in portrait or landscape mode (left or right side up, still the same). it's always the upper part of the screen. the only exception is when typing in portrait mode: then the T, G, and V don't work (when i try to press them, it types either of the keys next to those). i would think it has something to do with that part of the screen (those keys are pretty much alligned), but when i switch to landscape that same part of the screen works just fine... plugging the usb cable makes no difference, neither does the charger: it behaves just the same be it plugged or unplugged. i bet it's just some software issue (i sure hope it is), but i'd still like to hear what you might come up with.
thanks for reading and for your help!

Did you try to calibrate the screen from the settings?
Ok, so i've got some news regarding this.
First: i'm sorry, but i don'know how to report the thread... i'm quite a noob
Now regarding the screen thing... I updated to 2.3.6, and the problem changed: now the part of the screen that's bugging is the middle, both in portrait and landscape mode (from the home hardware key to the top; when i press any point following that line, the input is on either side of it). i found that if i set swipe for writing the keypad works perfectly, even when typing instead of swiping (in landscape, portrait is still messed up), but if i set it to Samsung Keypad it's just as i described in the first comment.
Help please
Also, if you tell me how to report the thread so they can change it, i'll do so happily

[Completed] Black screen on samsung galaxy tab 4 problem

Ok so i have my sisters samsung galaxy tab4 ( sm-t230nu ) which she brought to me today.
Her screen went black, lights up and all but it stays black in color. Up down volume buttons work and u can hear them working, power button works, turns screen on and off, TOUCH SCREEN WORKS, on certain areas u can hear the noise it makes when u tap on the screen and apps. I pressed the power button alone for it to restart, it restarts but does not show samsung tab logo or anything at all just lit up black screen. I even went on YouTube to memorize the hard reset sequence of buttons u have to press in order to complete the reset and i did manage to hard reset. But screen is still booting up on a lit black screen. I removed the back cover, unplugged the battery and tried booting it up and still nothing. BTW its full factory, no root roms or anything of the sort. I need help on what could be the problem. Only thing i believe might have caused this was a recent update on the system. My sister sais a few days ago it gave her a notification about it and she clicked on yes. I dont know what version of android it had nor which it had updated to. Please help. Tablet is not that old. Thanks. If anything email me directly at [email protected] thanks
Hello, and welcome to XDA Assist! The best thing to do would be to register and ask your question here: Galaxy Tab 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting. There will be experts there who can give you advice. You may have to reflash stock firmware to get the tab working again...
Good luck!

Black screen except for camera? J7 Crown. no USB debugging. Recovery mode access

Situation: Samsung Galaxy J7 Crown. Never messed with. USB Debugging not enabled No special permissions (no ADB). I am able to access the Android Recovery screen. Obviously wipe cache partition didn't help, nor Lacking storage booting. Other than the Recovery and download screen: I get the Power/Restart icons when booted normally. Reset works, but power doesn't turn the phone off. No phone calls, Yes notifications. Camera from lock screen comes on (triple click on home button) and touch screen works.
I've tried to trace out the lock pattern in the hopes its still working outside this specific situation. No indication that it is.
All i want is a few sentimental pictures. Although after an entire day of frustration, finding out that the only thing that works is the camera is kinda funny and ironic.
Ive looked on XDA forums, but I'm having no luck w/ exact situation, although I'm sure someone has been in the same situation or similar enough.
Spent all day looking at options (Odin?) and nothing looks like it would work out for me.
Knowing the camera works, makes me hopeful that a mirror would work? No reaction to lock screen pattern makes me think not.
Additional (maybe irrelevant) info. Shows up on home WiFi while Find My Mobile said it was offline (makes sense with Notifications/no calls)
Any advice? Just point me in the right direction if there is one.
If not i hope you appreciate the Irony here. Thanks
(I used to be not so bad tech support, but haven't been keeping up as of late, and today was a painful reminder. Take pity on me.)
Black Screen Except Camera - Galaxy J7 Crown
Hey there anick22! I was so glad to see a search result with something referencing the camera working, on an otherwise completely black screen! I was super bummed to see that noone had replied to your plea for help with this insane problem!! I hope you found a solution by now!!
My 2 month old Galaxy J7 Crown suddenly went black on me one day, and it didn't happen as a result of a drop, or spill, or any other damage. I don't recall having put any new or different apps on it, recently, either.
The triple click of the Home button does open the camera, and the screen lights right up, perfectly. It takes it's usual beautiful pics, and I'm able to use all of the camera functions. I'm even able to view any photos I took during that particular session, buy not any prior pics, because I'm unable to unlock the phone.
"Hey Google!!" also reacts, and will display the result of any question that I may ask it, but I'm unable to go into the answers, without the ability to unlock my phone.
I have been able to get the phone into safe mode, while attempting to power it off, by pressing the power button, and then tapping on "power off" (although this hasn't worked every time I've tried). While in safe mode, "safe mode" is displayed in the bottom left hand corner, but nothing else appears on the screen.
Upon powering up the phone, all of the normal things happen. It shows "Samsung" and goes on to the blue screen to show the "Trac Fone" logo, but once the phone is booted up, the screen is black!!
PLEASE tell me that you were able to find a solution to this!!! I went and purchased a new Moto G7, (since I had a Droid Turbo 2 in the past, and it was amazing!!), and I'm beyond ready to get back to my J7 Crown!! PLEASE HELP!!
Thanks so much!!!
By the way, I'm a newbie here, as If you couldn't tell!!
