Ok so i have my sisters samsung galaxy tab4 ( sm-t230nu ) which she brought to me today.
Her screen went black, lights up and all but it stays black in color. Up down volume buttons work and u can hear them working, power button works, turns screen on and off, TOUCH SCREEN WORKS, on certain areas u can hear the noise it makes when u tap on the screen and apps. I pressed the power button alone for it to restart, it restarts but does not show samsung tab logo or anything at all just lit up black screen. I even went on YouTube to memorize the hard reset sequence of buttons u have to press in order to complete the reset and i did manage to hard reset. But screen is still booting up on a lit black screen. I removed the back cover, unplugged the battery and tried booting it up and still nothing. BTW its full factory, no root roms or anything of the sort. I need help on what could be the problem. Only thing i believe might have caused this was a recent update on the system. My sister sais a few days ago it gave her a notification about it and she clicked on yes. I dont know what version of android it had nor which it had updated to. Please help. Tablet is not that old. Hey everyone, i downloaded a kernal on ryans lag fix and then it made my phone get stuck on the VIBRANT SAMSUNG screen so i tried to fix it by using odin, but all it did was make it go to the Galaxy s sign now, any suggestions on how i can fix this? I need urgent help. My S7562 G S Duos has downloaded official update through wifi and asked me to confirm installation. I confirmed. It asked for reboot. I confirmed. After reboot I can feel short vibration, then can hear the samsung start melody and that's it. Black screen. When I press Power button bottom two soft buttons starts on, but screen is black. I can change the volume and can hear that. When I connect to Kies it can see the phone, I can back up data etc. But screen is black. Sent message to support and they sent me to the service centre.
And yes, here in Central Africa there are lots of them, over every single corner:crying:
So any advice would be really appreciated!

Just received call to this mobile. So it can receive the call as well. But screen is still black...

Hi, I am a beginner at all this. I recently rooted my Samsung Galaxy Note2 (GT-N7100).
It was working fine, everything was all right.
Then I saw that I could change my boot animation, so I saw some YouTube videos about how to do it.
I downloaded an Iron Man boot animation, and tried to do the steps as told in the video.
But I could not Overwrite the existing files nor can I copy the new files.
Then the actual problem started.
Now my Phone only shows Galaxy Note2 and thenot the screen goes blank, the sound of Samsung comes but no image, Also the bigger problemy is
That my power button is not switching off the screen, the screen never shuts off at all.
I have to use app (screen lock) to do that. Even then I come to my locks creep and it does
P.S. The other functions of the button is working like, when I long press it it shows me the options of Power off, reboot, Airplane Mode etc.
If you could just help me fix my power button I would be grateful. Thank you.

Yesterday my xperia Z1 compact's screen turned black for several hours during the day. It died about 4 times. I managed to restart it by the small red button at the simslot.
But today all I see is a black screen, and I cant open anything, cant recover anything. Nothing I do seems to work. I tried everything, restarting with the red button, homebutton + volume... nothing!!
I'm so desperate and about to cry because I have pictures of me and my wife on my phone who passed away 4 months ago. I really need those pictures but cant see or do anything because of the black/dead screen.
Please, someone, please help me, what can I do??

Greetings and welcome to assist. Does your pc still recognise your phone ? if it does you should be able to get them that way. You should be able to use adb if nothing else.

Good morning, the tablet in question for a few days stuck due to some application, I do not know exactly what or facebook or some online games, .... in practice the screen shuts off and even pushing the power button anything, then He restarted alone !! The last time, however, did not restart but still seemed to be still lit as I felt very hot on the battery side.
Then I tried to get into recovery mode, I can do a WIPE DATA FACTORY RESET with a positive result, then I do WIPE CACHE but the latter goes wrong and the tablet restarts running the initial black screen with the samsung and tab model , Then switch back on then vibrating and rebooting always with that screen and so on in repetition.
I can not do it again. The tablet has the original firmware. An early thank you to all those who will help me
