i have a z1, which was working perfect one second and refdused to respond to my touch later. Neither is it the issue of water damage nor did i drop the phone. The lockscreen is visible, but i cant make my unlock pattern to open it. If i press the power button, the power off feauture is there but doesnt respond to my touch. i tried switching it off by taking my sim card out and also by using the power button and Volume UP button simultaneously. I switched the phone on but there has been no effect. Its been around five hours, please help me out. Pleaseeee. Thank you so much.

Did? you spill anything on your device or drop it. When you press a key does it light up?
1. reset your device. if that does not work pull the battery reinsert it and try again
2. try to access the boot loader or power on the device. if it powers on that means your end works.
3. You may need to hard reset your device but back up your files first.

I appreciate your kind consideration to my problem, Yes device dropped from hand from almost 4feet height but it was working perfect at that time but a day after its front buttons were not working properly.
I did factory reset many times and hard reset as well. but doesn't work.
touch screen & front buttons both doesn't work together, if front buttons works then touch doesn't at the same time. and mostly touch works & at the same time front buttons doesn't work.
Please help me, because i don't want any shopkeeper to handle my device.

How do I hard-reset my sony xperia mini st15i? There back and menu buttons are both touch buttons. I tried the power+back+menu button combo... no use.

To hard-reset your phone, hold down the power and lock button keys for five seconds and the phone will automatically restart.

Actually my touch screen has stopped working so I was trying to hard reset it. There is a power button on the top, a home button and two volume buttons on the side.
Tried out various combos with them. Still not working.

That was the first thing I did. Removed and reinserted the battery couple of times.. everytime the screen goes un-responsive.

I think the best solution is, to send the phone back to Sony to repair it...
I don't think if that's possible in your country, but in germany there is a law called "warranty". Call Sony for further information.

I have been running ICS 4.0.4 v28b on my P925g for a couple months now. A couple days ago my touchscreen started being extremely picky.
When I factory reset the phone, touchscreen works perfectly until the screen turns off. the only inputs it will register are sometimes an unlock swipe and always the power down menu.
I have successfully tried a few resurrection guides but to no avail. I have done a few complete wipes with TWRP as well,
I have no idea what's going on. a little help or advice would be greatly appreciated
Check your power button. Could give permanent inputs. Try to click from time to time only the home button and see uf it mskes screenshots.

I apologize P-vlad, I'm a bit of a noob. How do you mean check the power button?
The screen takes input very sporadically. For example, when i have an incoming call, i can use the screen to accept or decline. After that I then have the use of my screen but no front keys. This goes on again until I hit the power button to lock it, then I have no use again.
It may be a hardware issue, i was looking through old help threads in this section where a user was talking about short circuiting the battery for the clock, i have no idea how, but that may be it?
Ok so i have my sisters samsung galaxy tab4 ( sm-t230nu ) which she brought to me today.
Her screen went black, lights up and all but it stays black in color. Up down volume buttons work and u can hear them working, power button works, turns screen on and off, TOUCH SCREEN WORKS, on certain areas u can hear the noise it makes when u tap on the screen and apps. I pressed the power button alone for it to restart, it restarts but does not show samsung tab logo or anything at all just lit up black screen. I even went on YouTube to memorize the hard reset sequence of buttons u have to press in order to complete the reset and i did manage to hard reset. But screen is still booting up on a lit black screen. I removed the back cover, unplugged the battery and tried booting it up and still nothing. BTW its full factory, no root roms or anything of the sort. I need help on what could be the problem. Only thing i believe might have caused this was a recent update on the system. My sister sais a few days ago it gave her a notification about it and she clicked on yes. I dont know what version of android it had nor which it had updated to. Please help. Tablet is not that old. Hey, this happened to me randomly today. Reflashed stock rom and CM but both seem to have this problem. Vibration for random stuff stopped. Not all vibration. Touch vibration works fine when enabled. Phone vibrates normally. But for some reason holding the power button or the home button no longer cause vibration. Also holding icons in the launcher. It used to do it before. It doesn't seem to be either software or hardware related. I am really confused.
