Thank you Google translate lol.
Get a hairdryer or heat gun and begin warming the glue up holding the battery door, easy from there, all screws holding frame and motherboard together and not many connectors to remove.
Soon as my screen has arrived and depending on my work schedule I'll make a guide :thumbup:

Where did you buy new screen replacemen? Is that OEM lcd screen? Can i get the link for infor because i need it also for replacement? Thanks.:good:

Could you please take a few close ups of the battery and it's connection with the board? I've soldered wireless charging coils (palm pre type) to a few devices and was considered doing it to this phone as well. I didn't realize how much I'd miss wireless charging until I got this phone. Trying to plug in, in the dark, isn't fun. Thanks

Battery front (faces m/board) unsure what the connector attached at the top but its not removable so I didn't push my luck trying
Battery rear (faces battery boor)
Battery & battery door, the battery door is a flimsy plastic very bendable which shouldn't have a problem with passing an inductive charging current passed through
Battery & m/board static
Battery & m/board detached, note the connector is fairly thick sturdy a slide on and not the thin type which is common in other phones

@iamsloany
The connector at the top on the battery is for the NFC antenna, and is removable. Check this video for more info: https://youtu.be/SEaO9CRJxAo

Had a nightmare putting the new digitiser on, the old one including the glass had to be separated from a very thin plastic frame which I managed to do over time.
Unfortunately I didn't take any pics when putting back together, sorry guys.
But I'm back to using with my moto style as of 20mins ago, I can feel a Trupure Marshmallow update being installed within the hour woohoo
Totally pure, modified but pure...

I'm not meant to have this phone, I'm destined to start looking at it with deep sadness and fond memories that I temporarily tasted Marshmallow on my Moto Style.
It is with deep regret and sadness that I have to announce that I have once again broken my screen after 5 hours maybe, this time I dropped a hammer on it :screwy::screwy:

Yes the screen came with 2sided tape for the too and bottom of the screen, but where the sides of the frame attach to the LCD you would need a specialist glue and a steady hand.
Went to put my hammer down not looking and it landed heavily on the top right of the screen, instant crack

I feel for you. Had similar experience when I changed digitizer and lcd of nexus 4 which did not last more than 3-4 days.

Cracked Screen - Bad

No idea how it even happened, pull the phone out of my pocket to check things on Saturday night and the screen is toast. Spiderweb cracks all the way around.....Guess I could have bumped the corner of a table?? ..... Anyways, it's being taken care of, so I'm all good............3 days in, I was pretty bummed. New phone on the way though!
How did you get a new phone? Insurance?

Really, it happened while the screen was facing in against your body? That's bizarre. I learned the same lesson, luckily on my old Samusng Blackjack, and it only cracked the screen cover, not the screen itself--I leaned against a table corner and heard the "pop" when it happened.
I also find it weird that it cracked while the screen was against your leg...If it was facing outwards then I could understand. I dented the side of my Macbook Pro by accidentally hitting it against a railing while it was in a padded carry bag. You'd be surprised at how much force you exert even with just a tap.
Though, I guess hitting the back of the case really hard may crack the screen. My friend had one of those indestructable Nokia flip phones and it took a shot from a competition air rifle (.1775) at 10m to crack the screen...and we shot the outer casing (which only left a dent)
I think I bumped into a table and it "bent" the phone enough to crack the glass?? I don't know............anyways, I'll get a new one soon (I hope).......

It may have broke from just your pants pocket. Normally, when you stick the phone in your pocket it will be in portrait mode, but occasionally it will fall into landscape. When this happens and you sit down your pants pocket will push the phone against your leg very tightly and bend it, possibly to the breaking point if you don't notice it right away and shift your weight right. Try it.
Of course, this largely depends on the type of clothing you wear... It should be noted that this can happen with any phone. I've never had it happen but I've come close to it with my HTC Aria.

Lol the aria is tiny. Get an otterbox on it and it will never change orientation in a pants pocket unless you're a hipster wearing trip pants with giant pockets.

I wonder if that video on YouTube where this guy hammers a nail into a board using a One X is real or some form of trick movie magic.

my One X just went through the wash......

Ok, so my wife just sent my new One X through the washing machine, and I think I'm completely [email protected]#ked. From past experience, they don't usually recover fully, and the first thing you're supposed to do is remove the battery.....good trick with this phone.
So, she's now buying me a new one, but my question is, any ideas what a water damaged One X, in very good condition is worth these days?? I tired ebay, nothing listing for damaged ones yet, but past I have seen damaged SGS2's selling on ebay before. I'm just wondering if it's worth the bother, or just send it to be recycled?
Not very happy right now, I'll tell you that :crying:

you could probably salvage some parts like the digitizer if thats not broken or something. im sure you could sell or use the digitizer in the future
Put it in a bowl of white rice immediately. That trick has revived multiple phones for me, my original iPh... went swimming in byron bay, a swimming pool, the rain, and a mai tai and all 4 times the rice brought it back.

Yes I agree with the white rice. Also, never try to turn the phone on after it drops in water. Put it quickly in the rice.

I think hox doesn't hav removable battery
Copied signature
it doesnt, but you can take it apart and disconnect it. and yes bag of rice, more rice the better. if your anal about reviving it you could disassemble it in pieces, put in rice for 2 days, then soak it in 99% alcohol then air dry, and put back in rice for 2 more days.
the first 2 days will draw most of the water out, the alcohol will then clean most of the corrosion if any, and draw away more water, then the final 2 days will completely dry it. so long as nothing fried...itll work.
- Use a tab of some sort (plastic, not metal) and pop off the body (its held in place w tabs along the sides
- lift the bottom, and slide it out of the top end.
- disconnect the battery lead (since it's now accessible)
- put a section of paper towel down on half the bowl of rice.
- place the digitizer/circutry portion of the phone on the piece of paper towel on the rice
- add another layer of paper towel on top
- cover with rice.
the back cover (that contains the speaker and mic section) can be dried manually and out in the air.
after a day, pull the digitizer/circutry out of the rice/paper-towel-sandwhich and press the copper power button at the top after reconnecting the battery lead.
It should power up now (if it didnt blow any resistors while in the wash)

Sorry for OPs phone. But this picture looks too familiar. I broke my arias screen twice & replaced it twice.lol. That phone was pretty easy 2 fix. I dont know if the One X is as easy though, but I guess that problem is not about screen. The only problem I have with fixing screens is that the screen never wants to stay down tight. Over time it pushes back up.

DIY Charging dock for TF700

I've owned my TF700 for about two months now, and as I am coming from the Mortorola Xoom the one accessory I've really been missing is the standard charging dock. Not a fan of having to fumble around with the cable and connector every time I want to charge my tablet.
So being on Christmas break I sat down today to make my own charging dock; total cost for this project ran about $14 (Cdn). Here is a list of materials used;
1mm Plasticard stock;
Spare 40cm Asus charging cable;
10x hex bolts;
Spray paint;
Hot glue gun; and
Hobby knife.
Onto the build... I only starting taking pics after I had already gotten the basic frame together;

Here is the first test fit of the tablet in the dock;
The charging connector test fit into the dock;
Then a close up of the frame I built around the connector to hold it in place;
Next the connector was secured to the internal dock frame with a large quantity of hot glue to ensure it could withstand repeatedly attaching and detaching from the tablet;
And then the rest of the shell was completed for the dock;
The dock is now in working order, but tomorrow will bring final sanding, filling a few small imperfections and then painting. I'll update this thread with finished photos.
nice job!
Finished dock;
very nice!!!!
Wow!
Very sweet.
You are definitely a Do It Yourselfer to the max :highfive:

No, I used a liquid cement that is made for use with plasticard, it's the kind you brush on and dries within about 15 seconds. The hot glue was used to secure the charging cable connector and the steel nuts i used to add weight to the dock.
Looks good.. nice job.
Very professional looking job!:good: Where do I place my order?
I'd definitely buy one.

Best thing to scratch your screen - a credit card

Credit cards can collect very tiny deposits of quartz and other hard substances from being swiped in card readers and used in atm card trays.
This makes it not only relativley dirty... but dirty with very hard materials that can scratch GG.
Always wipe your credit cards clean before you pocket them with your phone... or... dont store anything at all in the same pocket.
Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk 2
I learned my lesson when GG2 first came out. I never saw any real scratches but when looked at under a light at an angle there were a ton of micro scratches. Here's the protector I use; they're on sale BOGO right now. They are wet apply, easy to put on, and dry so tight you really can't tell they are there. They also don't yellow or pull up over time. I'm still using the original set I put on my N2 last November.

Here's one on a One X...
Its not the credit card... its the sand (quartz) and dust that constantly rubbed against your screen while you were perhaps walking. Check a few videos in you tube where they tried sand paper on gorilla glass, it still got scratched.
GG is not scratchproof... its scratch resistant.

if you buy a $600+ phone it might be a good idea to get a screen protector for less than $.99. going back to the hd2 days when GG was said to be scratch proof which later we found out it wasn't. this is now 3rd gen GG and it still scratches. if you like to take care of your expensive "toys/work instruments" it doesn't hurt to protect. the value of your phone does go down after a few scratches but again its preference just like you said.

Should you get a case for the LG Nexus 4?
Advantages of having a nexus 4 case
-(obviously) Protection for your phone
-Can include a stand so you wont need to hold it all the time
-Extra grip
-Can make your phone unique
-Sturdy hardware buttons to prevent accidental pressing(Varies throughout designs)
-Prevents it from getting dirty
Advantages of not having a case
-Glitter Glass shows(Shows alot better than transparent cases)
-Easier to swipe from the edge of the screen (Cases pop up at screen edges)
-Logos are more noticeable
-Looks better
-The smooth texture(Unless you want grip instead)
Cases give you grip/protection/.(recommended just in case something happens)
If your careful with your phone and like the special design then you probably wont be needing one covering your nexus.So in the end, its just protection VS looks.Press thanks if you made a decision on whether or not you want to use a case!
I think you missed the fact where THE WHOLE PHONE IS MADE OF GLASS

I would go with case. My phone took a dive off my car after I set it there for literally 3 seconds (vehicle was not in motion at all). It made one small crack on the right hand side. Not a big deal right? Wrong. The digitizer failed on about 25% of the surface area right in the middle of the screen. In plain english that means no touch response on the screen, originating from the crack and extending the full width of the screen. This makes it difficult to text as it knocks out the T key in portrait keyboards and the message send button. In landscape it's also difficult. While a cracked screen may not seem like a big deal, it does suck when you have to drop ~$80 for a new digitizer/LCD.
The phone looks beautiful without the case, but it's not enough to justify the risk.
I've done both ways. Mine is currently naked... But it makes me a little nervous. Just can't find a case that I'm really happy with.

It's a no brainer!
OMG. This is all so dreary.
Look at your last phone. If its a mess and you're a clumsy git... get a case. If your old phone shows few signs of use then forgo the case.
Simples.
I cracked the back of my phone the first week I got it. A pallet jack just bumped my leg a cracked it by the speaker. This phones as fragile as the soft spot on a newborns head.

I always have front and back protectors for the glass but the only times I use a thick sturdy case is when I'm at the gym or know there is a risk of breaking for example when I went hiking

Some time ago I got one of these cases from eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLACK-CLEAR...G-GOOGLE-NEXUS-4-E960-ACCESSORY-/350692488954
I've been really happy with it. It's decently slim, seems like it provides pretty good protection, and with the translucent back, you can still see the original back of the phone (or dbrand skin in my case). It's very inexpensive, and the only downside I've found is that it makes the power button a bit stiff. Hasn't at all been a deal killer for me, though.
I use the OEM bumper case. Just yesterday I dropped my phone from waist height (about 3 feet) onto a tile floor and except for a few faint marks on the silver trim along the top of the bumper (that side hit the tile head on) no issues. Everyone who saw it was amazed I wasn't left with a cracked screen.
