Hey guys.....sorry if im posting to the wrong area, im brand new to the site. I rooted my phone successfully..... but then i tried to mess with the bootloader. thats where my mistake begins and ends. I spent alot of time researching stuff. however, missed that the 4.3 android firmware was pretty much locked up tighter than fort knox. now i am hard bricked.....pretty sure from the bootloader. i have read everything from jig to jtag to a class 10 16 gb micro sd card..... im just wondering which of these things are verified to work.... obviously jtagging from what i have read says its the best or only....
anyways, phone i believe is hardbricked. (and yes i saw other hardbricked threads, but as a noob to the site would like my own thread specific to my own situation) phone will not power on in any mode. red light only while plugged into computer with battery out. i have not tried jigs. i have not tried jtag. i have only tried a debrick image with class 10 16 gb micro sd. plus odin and plus win32 diskimager..... i may not have a 4.3 debrick image but cannot find a definitive 4.3 image.....
any help is appreciated and as always, i have read nothing but amazing articles on this site......i have read alot, but never needed to post my own thread because everything has always helped me before.
hope you guys can give me a clear view on my problem and help me with my situation,
thank you to all with feedback, good or bad.....atleast ill know the path to take.

Sd card trick works for a lot of people. So if that doesn't work JTAG will most certainly work.

After you flash the sd with the debrick image you should be able to pop it in and boot right up. I never had to do it so I'm the wrong person to ask.
Has anyone made a new images for 4.3 (with the new boot loader)? I'm assuming the old one would fail, else you could just use it to get around the new locks.
I didn't update, so I can't help.

+1 this is the link you need. Sorry I didn't post it in one of my first comments. For some reason after I read the op I thought you already seen it.
my phone wont boot no matter what? i cant get to recovery download. will this still work.....am i missing something here???
sorry if there is something simple that im missing, ive been doing nothing but research on this......my brain is gooping out of my ears at this point......
Some people say you need to flash the Derrick bin multiple times before it works properly.
---------- Post added at 11:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:24 PM ----------
You need to take the SD card out of your phone and connect it to a computer with a adapter.
ok, i will try charging it overnight.....even if the battery isnt in it and the red light comes on you think that might work? let me just make sure i have said this correctly before.....the ONLY time i see a red light is when the battery is NOT in the phone and the phone is connected to the COMPUTER.
(new users have to wait 5 minutes between posts.....good idea, but man that slows things down......)

Darn you saw that before I deleted it. A full charge on top of the flashed SD card is a good idea. Just in case you are confused with how to flash look at my last post. Good night and good luck.
i have a class 10 16 gb micro sd ..... idk if i need to keep trying.
Im using a debrick image and win32diskimager. i have written the image to the sd six or so times.......
g'nite to you too and thank you

Make sure you're using the 4.3 debrick image, and keep trying to burn it into the SD card. It may help to format it before you try, then you're starting on a clean slate.
It should work eventually.

No, the debrick.bin file contains an alternate bootloader. It tricks your phone into booting from that by making it think it's the internal card.
The thread I linked to you has links for both debrick images. Just make sure you re-download the correct one, the one after you already had 4.3

Hey guys,
A few months ago I successfully rooted my Nexus 5 using the first youtube video you see after youtubing "root nexus 5" (sorry, new members cant post links).
unfortunately i had to remove root access for a short period of time. now that i try to reroot the phone using the above method (as well as a few others) It doesnt work.
when I put the phone in fastboot mode it says SECURITY BOOT: enabled and LOCK STATE: unlocked. Im assuming that means the bootloader remains unlocked. when i run the program and my nexus 5 flashes all the magic voodoo rooting screens, the phone boots back up but i still dont have root access.
what in the world can i do here?
You shouldn't be using programs. Just follow the guide we have here, linked in my signature

appreciate the thought but that doesnt really help where im at right now. im probably using the term "programs" incorrectly. i just installed hammerhead and ran it using this n that. Ive taken a look at several guides as well giving me the same operations (download this hammerhead thing. run the thing which then roots the phone with its usb debugging on). I would think that the majority of guides on youtube are derived directly from the guide found on xda anyway (especially the one i used, considering it was a relatively light and easy process).
No most guides use Toolkits. Our guide is proper. We cannot vouch for others.
Our guide involves flashing a recovery and then flashing root from recovery. Do that and let us know where you get stuck, otherwise we can't help

Rootsu is correct. If you want things done properly you're best using no shortcuts like Toolkits. Different OSes and drivers and cables may change how the toolkit works.

Hello
My XT925 on Fido somehow soft bricked and all I see on the screen is "encryption unsuccessful". The phone is stock recovery and Jellybean right now and I have tried all the resets possible. Fastboot doesn't seem to work and stops after 2/20 steps. I have tried editing the XML file to no avail. Can someone help me figure out how to create an update.zip and flash through the stock recovery? It looks like it can detect the SD card in stock recovery. I would like to go straight to the kit Kat release that just came out. Thanks in advance.

Currently you will not be able to go to KK directly. You will likely need to use RSD Light to go back to 4.1.2 but will need to remove 3-4 lines from the XML before it will flash. It's been covered lots here - just do some reading.
I've tried removing many lines mentioned in other posts but the flash keeps failing after 2-3 steps. Are the lines you are referring to the gpt and getvars lines?

Can you provide more information about what RSDLite says and what lines from the XML you removed?
i was playing around with my galaxy s6 and saw that you could edit the builds.prop file, in hopes that i could fix the ram issue.
unfortunately that didnt work out and now my phone is stuck in the stock bootloader without adb enabled.. any chance you guys can help? pls? <3
Flash your stock ROM via Odin
You won't lose any data or photos etc
It will restore file system and fix your problem

by any chance could you give me a quick tutorial? it doesnt connect in bootloader? sorry for the nuisance...
My M8 died in the middle of the doing the update, and the it would boot to the verizon screen and stay stuck there. I tried wiping data and doing the factory reset. I did a rampdump. Nothing seems to be working. I feel like I have to download to the sd card and can flash a stock rom or something. Can anyone help? Anyone have any ideas? This phone is not rooted, everything is OTA. Please help if you can, I'll make you cookies
