My M8 died in the middle of the doing the update, and the it would boot to the verizon screen and stay stuck there. I tried wiping data and doing the factory reset. I did a rampdump. Nothing seems to be working. I feel like I have to download to the sd card and can flash a stock rom or something. Can anyone help? Anyone have any ideas? This phone is not rooted, everything is OTA. Please help if you can, I'll make you cookies

I need to take my phone back to Sprint but I'm unable to unroot via the RUU zip that's been posted because my display is completely dead. I would guess there's probably a way to flash back to stock using ADB but I'm not exactly an expert. If anyone can help with this, your assistance would be very much appreciated.
You could try running this ruu http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=909554. It's ran from your pc rather than loading a zip in hboot.

Do you have Exchange email set up? That can interfere with the process. You'll need to kill that.

no i dont have exchange set up i factory restore my phone
I am having the same problem. I confirmed my HTC drivers are installed and functioning correctly with adb. No exchange account. I get no backup confirmation on the screen of the device. How long does the backup restore process take?
Same here, the question to restore a backup doesn't come up on my phone either. Tried a factory reset and everything, someone please figure this out and help!

A factory reset from bootloader resolved it for me. After that, the prompt appeared on my phone and root was fairly straightforward after that.
I wouldn't factory reset from bootloader, it can corrupt your sd card.

How would I know if it is corrupted? I saw someone recommend doing it this way and it seemed to work fine for me. After rooting I flashed a few roms before settling on ViperXL. Both you and the one recommending a reset from bootloader are much smarter than me at this so any info is much appreciated.

I guess your device wouldn't recognise the SD card. I've seen on a few threads people resetting in bootloader and this happening. If your sd card is fine I suppose you got lucky.

if TWRP cries and yells at you saying "E: cannot mount sdcard" or something to that extent, then it is corrupted. You got lucky, or maybe everyone else was unlucky.
Just don't factory reset from the bootloader next time. Better safe than sorry.
Guys, I really need help. My phone won't turn on after I installed Blackbean. Initially I was running Blackbean then I tried Jellybam then I decided to go back to Blackbean. After I reloaded the software, I've selected to go back to bootloader and then it won't turn on anymore. I am not sure if I bricked the phone coz I didn't do anything wrong. My phone is the unlocked T-Mobile Germany version. If anyone has suggestion please post it here. I will appreciate all the help. Thank you.

thanks for the reply. to answer your question no sir. it wont turn on anymore.
So you can't even go into the bootloader? Maybe your battery has run flat, this happened to me once. I just plugged it in for a few minutes and it started up again normally.

dude you have to flash the kernel ( boot.img)! otherwise it won't boot!

But it must boot to bootloader to push the boot file right. How can he do that without getting the phone to turn on?

Plus if he already flashed those roms, would assume he is flashing boot, has low hboot, or using Flash Image GUI--may be wrong--
use the All in one tool kit and get the stock boot.img from kiln, assuming you're able to get into fastboot.
After using all-in-one toolkit to have my Telus phone bootloader unlocked and installed TWRP, i flashed the wrong ROM and boot.img(the one for HOX International, instead of the one for AT&T / Rogers). now i'm stuck with only bootloader and TWRP. and in Recovery mode it always shows the error "unable to mount /sdcard"
after a few hours, i've tried a few things and nothing worked so far. totally in lost now...
i've tried re-locked and flash factory RUU, ADB sideload a customized ROM, nothing worked.
currenlty when in fastboot, fastboot can see the device, but adb can't see the device at all.
Any help and thoughts will be greatly appreciated!
when running the following RUU,
RUU_Evita_UL_TELUS_WWE_1.91.661.4_Radio_0.18a.32.09.01_2_10.94.32.20L_release_266645_signed.exe
it's checking current image version, and shows 3.17.661.2...

Hey everyone,
So I think I may have done something strange and i'm not sure how to fix it. Long story short, screen cracked, so I bought a new one and I used TWRP to backup my original phone. So now, i'm just trying to unlock and root, you know, the usual. BTW, I tried using ABD/Fastboot, which I never typically do, but I heard it was more efficient and whatnot so I thought I try. I think the unlocking of the bootloader went well. And I even think I flashed recovery properly. But when I tried to access recovery, it prompted me for a password.
I read on the TWRP site I was supposed to let the phone boot as normal before accessing recovery. Oops. So I tried formatting all the data on the phone and no I have no OS or any files to recover from and adb push keeps giving me "Device not found" and now I don't know what to do.
Help?
EDIT: In case anyone has this issue searching threads, I just used Wug Toolkit to flash everything back to stock and then used the same Toolkit to unlock and root. TWRP isn't going to recognize a backup from a different phone. To my understanding, there is a way around that, but I didn't look into it. Oh, and apparently, don't flash the EFS partition lol

Oh, that reminds me, TWRP wasn't able to mount any of the directories, it seems. I think it can, now, but I remember seeing those errors in the log before I wiped everything. Thanks for that suggestion, i'll give it a shot.

I can't seem to find on the internets which odin version is compatible with the Nexus 5. I'm not finding any hits to directly correlate and I don't want to damage further. Which one would you recommend?

Odin is a Samsung thing. Not LG.
What you'll need to do is flash the 4.4.2 factory image. Follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513701

OK!
So, I used the Wug toolkit to basically flash everything to stock, and then root it. I installed TWRP using the app and I tried using the app to restore from my earlier back up. So, it boots into recovery but nothing happened. Looking at the log, it says the TWRP isn't able to locate the files. Trying to just restore from recovery isn't helpful because when I hit "Restore" nothing pops up. As if the SDCard partition isn't being accessed. I can't see any of the files in any directory. Anyone have any ideas?
You need to let the phone boot into android before flashing a custom recovery.

Flashing the factory image erases everything. Such as backups stored on your phone.

Did you put the backup on the root of the sdcard? I think it needs to be in the TWRP folder. You should first make a backup of your current rom even if it's stock rooted.

Someone explained to me TWRP won't recognize a backup with a serial number from a different phone. So essentially, I will just have to forego it. I used Wug Toolkit to fix this issue and just flashed everything to stock and had the same toolkit unlock and root. Using ADB was a fail and cost me a whole afternoon lol
