The Path app is practically useless for me on the A9. Loading it the first time takes almost one minute, and then it updates the latest 'moments' for another minute until the page finally done loading (if I'm lucky). Sometimes it never completely loads and just stays there on what seems like forever in the loading/spinning wheel mode. If the home page loads, scrolling down is super slow, loading each image takes a very long time.
I have tried clearing app cache/data and even uninstalling/reinstalling the app, and always the same result. Totally scratching my head here since the app runs smoothly on my M7 and even my almost 3-year old Samsung tablet. I thought maybe it's a Marshmallow compatibility problem but a friend with Marshmallow on a Nexus said he doesn't experience any problem.
I thought I'd post an update:
As I said in the OP, I found that the Path app was unusable. In the following days I also discovered one other app that acted almost exactly the same, Facebook Messenger. Just like Path, I tried uninstalling/reinstalling and clearing cache/data and obviously rebooted, but nothing worked. Luckily I don't regularly use any of these two apps so I simply uninstalled them without much thought and moved on.
Last night I received the 6.0.1 update, and right afterwards I thought I'd install the two apps again and check if there's any change, and what do you know, they're both fixed! No more slowness, lags, or any crash whatsoever. These apps are now functioning normally and as snappy as they should be.
So my monologue continues...
The slowness with Path comes back. It is not as completely useless as it was prior to 6.0.1, but it is still crazy slow to the point of ridiculousness. The slowness in Facebook Messenger app, as I mentioned above, did not come back, and the Messenger app is now normally snappy and completely usable, as it should.
Is there really nobody here using Path and can confirm the experience? This is the only app this phone is having trouble with, and the app does not show similar problem on any other phones, even much older phones. I have submitted this problem to Path, although I'm not sure if they will ever respond.

Hi,
Relatively new the android, I have been using Nokia for the most time.
Lately on my captivate I found out that when I press the google voice app it takes substantially longer to open. I mean much longer than other apps - maps, gmail etc. I am on WIFI, so it shouldb't be a connection problem.
Has anyone seen this problem?
Thanks!
Occasionally, when I do open the app, it takes a while. This is usually after a reboot, however. After the first open, the app backgrounds and opens up very quickly.
Thanks.
But this happens to me all the time, it takes like 3 seconds to open.
I to have the same issue. A good 3-5 sec delay. I am using LauncherPro, have no idea if that has anything to do with it.
yea, i am using launcherpro too..
I noticed this too. I just made a habit of hitting home to get out of the app rather than back-ing out and closing it. If it's cached/running it opens instantly.
Also, I applied RyanZA's ext2 lagfix and it fixed this completely so it's probably an I/O "issue".
that sounds like a good idea.
I haven't used any fix yet. I think i am going to wait for froyo or custom roms to come out and see the difference.
now my phone is completely stock not rooted or anything.
Ok so my Infuse was running OK. Then I downloaded a file manager app that can send/receive over wifi. I played around with it but then discovered that my phone got laggy as hell. The home screen was laggy and stuttery as i swiped through pages, and the live wallpaper that used to be smooth as glass turned into a choppy slide show.
I promptly nixed that app I downloaded. I then killed all running apps, force closed things I knew I didn't need, closed of services I didn't need, made sure all wifi and BT was off, and flushed RAM. I then rebooted. It got a little better but it is still laggy compared to what it was. I don't know what that crApp did to my phone! It is ruined! I really don't want to do a factory reset and lose all of my settings/apps and have to re-install, what a pain.
Is there something else to try? Maybe freeze apps (although not sure which ones I can freeze).
I am not sure how most people can use their devices if simply trying an app can slow it down so much. There has to be a way to fix.
I am on a stock ROM and rooted.
Did the OTA update for 5.0 lollipop yesterday. all the issues with the factory image flash have dissapeard. It all work great now, except one thing:
When my phone gets warm, the performance really goes down, except for some games. Animations get choppy etc. Remember , I said warm, not hot, and it occurred to me from just browsing facebook or chatting.
Any one ran into this problem aswell?
no one with the same problem? my friend seems to share the exact same issue
Kindda had the same issue after adb sideloading the OTA update to my N5. It was easily getting warm which caused constant lagging. Therefore it was closing my music player app while i was listening to music and surfing the web or FB, couldn't handle several apps at the same time and Google search app kept crashing from time to time. So i just went to the recovery mode and wiped cash. It took about 10 - 15 minutes, but when i turned the phone again everything worked fine. No lagging, no crashing. Everything is flying now, it's fast and smooth as never before. I don't now if it helps you, but i think you should give it a shot.
Define "warm".
Hello everyone!
Let me start off by saying that i'm actually using an unrooted, officially update nexus 5, updated to the latest 5.0.1
I have no problem whatsoever, battery really seem to have improved, but lately i've been getting a strange behavior
After a period of use (it goes from a couple of days to a whole week) the phone oddly slows down when i press the middle button, to return back to the homescreen.
For example, if I'm using the facebook app, and watch a couple of videos along with opening a few external links, when i press the home button, the whole home "loads" from start. I mean, i literally see nothing for a second, then it slowly loads widgets and icons. After it's been loaded, everything works flawlessly again, but if i open facebook again, use it for a while and press the home screen, it loads again.
Mind that i have no custom drawer (i tried Themer, it gives me the same error, it says "loading homescreen" when the problem appears) but the problem is still there with the stock homescreen. I tried force-closing the apps i used, thinking about a memory issue, but to no avail. I have to turn off and turn on the device, and everything works wonders again.
Is there any app that could help me with this issue? I'd like to understand why it's doing this and which app is slowing down my phone.

I am not Sure whether this is 100% sure, But have heard that there is a memory leak issue in lollipop. Which might be the reason of ur problem. And the oly way get enough memory is to restart. But again, I am not Sure whether the above information is correct though.

I've heard that too, but it's strange that it has appeared only now. I haven't had this kind of issue ever since i updated it.
The FB app is just real buggy. My personal theory is whatever that app does exposes the Lollipop memory leak.

Yep i know about that, the FB app is just horrible script-wise. Nevertheless, i've never had THIS problem. And even if i forceclose it, it doesn't solve the problem anyway.
Hello. I have a problem with my new Mate 7.
It seems it doesn't matter what program is running, but sometimes they just crash without any warning or explanation.
For example, if I recieve a snap from someone and I open snapchat, it feels like a 50/50 chance if the program turns it self off and I come back to the start screen and every icon and stuff has to load all over again.
This happens way too often. It doesn't matter if it's a game or just the web browser. It's all the same.
Sometimes I have to open them and let them crash several time before I can use them. When they first work, they work properly and feels fast and smooth.
Anybody have similiar problems or knows a fix?
no ? no one?

So no one has an explanation?
wow what an amazing site this is! I have been waiting almost a month now.
well no one can see the logs or crash reports, wheter you rooted/use xposed/use a not supported sd card or nothing at all. Only thing most peaople coud tell you is to reset your phone but that's probably not the solution you're looking for. There are almost none experienced developers for the mate 7 here on xda but not even they could help you as there are so many factors which could cause the app to crash, it's just an Android thing :|

I haven't done anything to the phone. It worked perfect the first 2 days I got it but then everything crashes.
I don't have an SD card yet.
I switched to Nova Luancher and it worked fine for a couple of days before everything crashes at random again.
There is no crash report when it happens but everything has to reload after it crashes. It doesn't matter what kind of app it is. Everything is just screwed up.
well I'm really sorry for you then..
just get a sd card and back up everything, then reset the phone. as long as there aren't that many apps n stuff to recover I would do it asap, I managed to softbrick my previous devices quite a few times and believe me, reinstalling all your apps after months of usage without an backup sucks even more..
