Google Voice lag? - Captivate General

Hi,
Relatively new the android, I have been using Nokia for the most time.
Lately on my captivate I found out that when I press the google voice app it takes substantially longer to open. I mean much longer than other apps - maps, gmail etc. I am on WIFI, so it shouldb't be a connection problem.
Has anyone seen this problem?
Thanks!

Occasionally, when I do open the app, it takes a while. This is usually after a reboot, however. After the first open, the app backgrounds and opens up very quickly.

Thanks.
But this happens to me all the time, it takes like 3 seconds to open.

I to have the same issue. A good 3-5 sec delay. I am using LauncherPro, have no idea if that has anything to do with it.

yea, i am using launcherpro too..

I noticed this too. I just made a habit of hitting home to get out of the app rather than back-ing out and closing it. If it's cached/running it opens instantly.
Also, I applied RyanZA's ext2 lagfix and it fixed this completely so it's probably an I/O "issue".

that sounds like a good idea.
I haven't used any fix yet. I think i am going to wait for froyo or custom roms to come out and see the difference.
now my phone is completely stock not rooted or anything.

[Q] Slow Home Behavior

Hello everyone!
Let me start off by saying that i'm actually using an unrooted, officially update nexus 5, updated to the latest 5.0.1
I have no problem whatsoever, battery really seem to have improved, but lately i've been getting a strange behavior
After a period of use (it goes from a couple of days to a whole week) the phone oddly slows down when i press the middle button, to return back to the homescreen.
For example, if I'm using the facebook app, and watch a couple of videos along with opening a few external links, when i press the home button, the whole home "loads" from start. I mean, i literally see nothing for a second, then it slowly loads widgets and icons. After it's been loaded, everything works flawlessly again, but if i open facebook again, use it for a while and press the home screen, it loads again.
Mind that i have no custom drawer (i tried Themer, it gives me the same error, it says "loading homescreen" when the problem appears) but the problem is still there with the stock homescreen. I tried force-closing the apps i used, thinking about a memory issue, but to no avail. I have to turn off and turn on the device, and everything works wonders again.
Is there any app that could help me with this issue? I'd like to understand why it's doing this and which app is slowing down my phone.

I am not Sure whether this is 100% sure, But have heard that there is a memory leak issue in lollipop. Which might be the reason of ur problem. And the oly way get enough memory is to restart. But again, I am not Sure whether the above information is correct though.

I've heard that too, but it's strange that it has appeared only now. I haven't had this kind of issue ever since i updated it.
The FB app is just real buggy. My personal theory is whatever that app does exposes the Lollipop memory leak.

Yep i know about that, the FB app is just horrible script-wise. Nevertheless, i've never had THIS problem. And even if i forceclose it, it doesn't solve the problem anyway.

Pressing the back button to exit an app sometimes takes me to other random apps

I've been having this problem for a long time, accross different devices and OS's.
The thing is that, sometimes, if I exit an app using the back button, instead of going to the homescreen I'm sent to other apps that had been previously open (but also closed). Pressing the back button again in whatever app it opened, would often take me to other apps until I finally get the homescreen.
This doesn't happen all the time, but it is quite often and annoying.
Any Idea what can this be about and how to fix it?
I'm using Nova Launcher (prime), which I suspect may have something to do with it.
Thanks in advance.

This happens to me, too, on occasion. It seems that it always happens if I launch an app directly from the app I'm currently using, and with certain apps, every once in a while, I get what you're getting. My solution has been to use the app ATK, or Advanced Task Killer. It's simple to use - just kill apps when you're done using them - and it also drastically lengthens my battery life. I'd highly recomend it.

Samsung Stock Messaging App Extremely Slow

So I've been using my S6 now for about a month I would say, and the problem I'm having is the stock messaging app seems to have slowed down tremendously. I used to be able to use it smoothly transitioning between SMS & MMS, but now scrolling lags quite a bit.
The main problem I am having though is viewing pictures. Whenever I get sent a Picture Message and I tap to enlarge it, it takes anywhere between 8 - 15 seconds to enlarge. At first I thought my phone wasn't registering my touch so I tapped the screen a few more times. That didn't help, it still takes a long time to open the picture. The problem for some reason seems to be worse when in a group message.
Any one else experience this issue? Is there something I can do to remedy it?
I guess a simple solution would be downloading a different messaging app, but I just wanted to keep it simple and use Samsung apps.
Thanks for the help.
No, I'm not having this issue at all. I've had my phone for a month.

Anyone else having problem with the 'Path' app?

The Path app is practically useless for me on the A9. Loading it the first time takes almost one minute, and then it updates the latest 'moments' for another minute until the page finally done loading (if I'm lucky). Sometimes it never completely loads and just stays there on what seems like forever in the loading/spinning wheel mode. If the home page loads, scrolling down is super slow, loading each image takes a very long time.
I have tried clearing app cache/data and even uninstalling/reinstalling the app, and always the same result. Totally scratching my head here since the app runs smoothly on my M7 and even my almost 3-year old Samsung tablet. I thought maybe it's a Marshmallow compatibility problem but a friend with Marshmallow on a Nexus said he doesn't experience any problem.
I thought I'd post an update:
As I said in the OP, I found that the Path app was unusable. In the following days I also discovered one other app that acted almost exactly the same, Facebook Messenger. Just like Path, I tried uninstalling/reinstalling and clearing cache/data and obviously rebooted, but nothing worked. Luckily I don't regularly use any of these two apps so I simply uninstalled them without much thought and moved on.
Last night I received the 6.0.1 update, and right afterwards I thought I'd install the two apps again and check if there's any change, and what do you know, they're both fixed! No more slowness, lags, or any crash whatsoever. These apps are now functioning normally and as snappy as they should be.
So my monologue continues...
The slowness with Path comes back. It is not as completely useless as it was prior to 6.0.1, but it is still crazy slow to the point of ridiculousness. The slowness in Facebook Messenger app, as I mentioned above, did not come back, and the Messenger app is now normally snappy and completely usable, as it should.
Is there really nobody here using Path and can confirm the experience? This is the only app this phone is having trouble with, and the app does not show similar problem on any other phones, even much older phones. I have submitted this problem to Path, although I'm not sure if they will ever respond.

App launch speed

OMG! Kim K posted another selfie with tons of cleavage! Rate this thread to express how quickly apps launch on the OnePlus 6T. A higher rating indicates that even the most intensive apps launch quickly and without hesitation, even if they are no longer in RAM.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Apps typically launch very quickly. However, every so often (at least once or twice a day), an app can take about 2 seconds to begin loading. Meaning, the phone will hang and be unresponsive for those two seconds while I wait for the app to launch. But, that only happens a period of time without using the phone.
Still odd, though.
Only app i've noticed that has issues launching quickly sometimes is hangouts. I'll tap it and nothing will happen and then i'll tap it again and it opens up the camera option inside hangouts. Anyone else experience sluggishness in hangouts?

Come to think of it, it is Hangouts. I will report if I see this behavior with another app.
The other one is tune in radio. After not using it for awhile and then opening it, it will never connect to the stations. I'll have to go play Google music for a little while and then come back to tune in and then it'll start working. It's as if tune in can't pick up the connection.
