Google store device order refunds - General Topics

Hiya,
Anyone had any experience with refunds and google store? I recently returned a nexus 6p for a refund. It arrived with them yesterday (says UPS tracking number) and today I have a credit for £348.99 which is from an order for a Nexus 5 from 2 years ago!? This was confirmed by a google support person on chat support. She assured me though, that the (£499) refund can take 8-10 days and It will definitely be refunded back to my account soon and to keep the £348.99 refund for a christmas party .
I'm all for the extra money, but this seems so off. Has anyone else had an order refunded... and if so, how long did it take to get the money back? I'm currently £150 and fearing its staying that way atm.
I'm in the UK btw if that makes a difference. The return was shipped to Germany.

[Q] RMA Robbery

My touchscreen on my TF has completely stopped responding to touch. I've tried resetting the device and wiping the data, but nothing will bring it back to life. I've been stuck at the Honeycomb Start screen for 2 days now, where you select your language when you first activate your device.
I called Asus support and they issued an RMA. When I got the email I realized it said that I had to pay to ship the device to Texas to get fixed. I refuse to pay to have this fixed after I just spend $400 on it last week. I called Asus support and was told only level 3 support would have the authority to override the policy and pay for the shipping both ways.
Now I can't decide what to do. Do I pay to ship it to Texas to get fixed, which I think is completely ridiculous? Or do I go to WalMart and return this thing? Does anyone know if I can go to WalMart and exchange it for another one when one comes in stock?
Appreciate any replies!
You'd only be able to return it back to WalMart within 30 days.

if you are within the return period just take it back to walmart and ask for a refund or exchange. Its' not gonna be faster with RMA.
I would return it. My right speaker is dead and I probably will just ship it back to Amazon to avoid the RMA Hassle and expense.
This product seems to have a high (10-20%) defect rate and its ridiculous that Asus makes the customers pay for shipping to Asus especially if they think their competition is really Apple who has the gold standard of customer service.
I'd take it back to the shop and ask for either a swap or a refund, I sure as heck wouldn't want to pay the postage.

Walmart return policy says 15 days

Walmart's return policy for electronics is 15 days.
Welcome to the New World Economy, where retail companies nickel and dime you for every cent they can, even when it is their fault. Unfortunately, this RMA scam is becoming more and more prevalent. Case in point, NewEgg, one of the better companies out there. Their standard policy these days is to make you pay for shipping back to them, even for DOA products. Their position is that 'we didn't make it, so it isn't our fault'. I sent my dock back to them last week, at my expense.
Then I got the refund. I was absolutely horrified to see that they refunded ONLY the cost of the item, without the original shipping costs that I also paid. Holy crapsticks....I went through the roof.
Needless to say, I was in live chat with them immediately, and low-and-behold...they refunded BOTH the original shipping as well as what I paid to ship it back to them, and I only needed to ask.
The point of this? ***** about it. Complain to whomever will listen. You've got a chance of getting it back, whomever the retailer.
I already complained last night to Asus on the phone. I explained to them that it is cheaper for them to pay for my shipping, than to get a refurb back from a retailer.
It is cheaper for me to return it, wait a few weeks, and buy another one.
I don't even care about the money, it would cost less than $10 to ship it back. This is about principle. I just spent $400 on a device, which became totally unusable within less than 2 weeks of owning it. I should not have to pay to ship it back to Asus.
It is becoming very apparent to me how Asus was able to undercut everyone else's ASP for a similar product.

That is all I asked for. I asked for a shipping label to the service center, and Asus said it is their policy not to pay for that.
Does anyone know if WalMart will take a return on an item that doesn't work properly?

Im getting mine rma from newegg too because of the speakers and the popping sound. I emailed them the other day and I got a prepaid ups label. I think if you contact them directly they will give you the label but if you did it the normal way they would make you pay for it.

Do you have any idea how long it will take to get a replacement? I am thinking about sending mine back to Amazon instead of Asus but I think it will take much longer to get a replacement?

I think it depends if amazon has any stock. If they dont you will probably get a refund and you have to find another one.

I think I will just send mine out to Amazon. Looking at the turnaround times, means I will be either getting a repair or refurb by early June anyway. I am sure Amazon will have more in stock on an active basis by early June.
I returned my TF bcoz the one of the speakers stopped working. Guess what, it was the second piece I got as a replacement after returning the first one. Took it back to PC Richards, and they gladly refunded my money back.
Now, I'm thinking if I need to get a TF after a few days, so that I would be able to get a piece from a subsequent production batch, where Asus would fix most of their issues or dump TF and get the Tab 10.1
I was in a similar position. Right out of the box, the screen showed flickering white lines, so I called Asus support. I got the same info: I would have to ship it to Asus at my own expense, and then wait ten to fifteen business days for it to be returned. I think not! I contacted J&R, where I bought the TF, and they provided me with a prepaid UPS shipping label for me to send it back and get a full refund.

I just returned mine at WalMart for a full refund. I'll be damned if I'm going to spend $400 on a product to last 2 weeks and then pay to get it fixed.
Now I don't even know if I want to order another one due to Asus's pathetic business practices.

Agree with you. I'm more inclined for the Tab 10.1 right now

Never ordering from online T-Mo store again

I went on-line this past Friday to order the MHL/HDMI cable for my HTC Sensation from the T-Mo store. At the end of checkout I was asked 5 security questions...I flubbed the first question because I wasn't paying attention. Some of the other questions were kind of strange. i.e. They asked me if I knew a Anble S****. It was my family last name but who has "Able" as a first name??? The best I could figure was they may have meant "Angie" who was a family member.
Anyways, I flunked the security questions and was given a phone number and order# so I could call and verify the order over the phone. I had the call the next day because that office was closed.
I called and cleared up the order and then the sales rep who was helping me could not find the item I was trying to order. Trying to be helpful, I found the item on my own at the on-line T-Mo store but it had no SKU or part #. The sales rep also told me he could not access the same web site because they were restricted from doing so!!!???? I was thinking of e-mailing him the link to the video cable but he couldn't even get to it.
He had to put a note in my order stating what the item was so some other dept. could try to find it...
So predictably, 6 business days later (I paid for overnight delivery) I still had not received my order. I called 30 minutes ago and the sales rep told me the order still had NOT been placed yet AND it would take 24-72 hours (business days) before the order would be even cleared by another dept. Now what the heck does that mean?. I told the rep I was not very happy and a few other choice words.
At least I hope I get an e-mail when they finally find the cable and mail it to me...the next time I'll order from Hong Kong and probably get it faster..haha.
That sucks. You should at least get the shipping charge refunded or changed since it's taking them so long. Are these not available in store?
No MHL/HDMI cables at the local T-Mo store
Last weekend I did go to my local T-Mo store and they only had cases and screen protectors for the HTC Sensation. I was not really expecting too much since the Sensation is so new. I asked the sales girl when they might be getting anything in and she had no clue. The impression I got was she was not expecting any video cables to come in.

Tmobile Hell & Possible Redemption~

I dont exactly know where to put this but general seems fine.
On 5/08 I switched from big red to tmo. Wanted to have
My own plan, I have a thin credit file since I stay away
From credit cards and was forced to pay $300 plus 40 in tax
To receive my device from tmo. Instead of 149 like everyone else
On 5/09 I received the phone....damaged. the battery door
Of the note 2 was busted and the packaging was horrid.
I called right away only to be told I needed to give them
340 Again then send this one and get refunded.
Since I wasnt excepting the high down I had no money left
On 5/13 I finally had enough from bi weekly paycheck to
Process the note 2 for replacement eip. Since I had
Issues handling the phone I decided to use remorse and
Get an S4.
5/16 comes by and I dont receive my s4 I call and they say
It will be on its way. Sales however says my card declined
And it is cancelled. Two stories...
5/17 comes by and after 6 hours on support I finally get
A replacement EIP setup again. My card gets charged
And I was told new batches ship 20th.
5/19 the order processes and shows on my account! Sigh of relief
5/19 order switches to cancelled
5/21 order reflects cancelled twice.
After another 4 hours they setup a memo for device exchange
At a local store and to double my down so new s4 is paid off
Courtesy of them.
I go to a local store and learn only corporate locations can do
What I need. After calling them three times to ask if that store
Was not a dealer and told it wasn't even though I explained my situation
I was told different thing once I was there.
Will be heading to a corp store right before work soon.
If tmobile fails to redeem themselves its back to big red.
Theres no reason a damaged device exchange should be this difficult
If you want to go magenta Use a store not online even if its convenient
Or you will get stuck in this nonsense.

My Worst Experience With Google Projectfi

Please forgive me I have to vent somewhere and just share this ridiculous story.... To be fair until this I have always had a super positive experience but this one may end my relationship with Google.
It all started with my mom's phone I bought on Projectfi a Nexus 5x. I didn't have insurance on it but it was under warranty still. I called the Projectfi help team and they issued a return for it because it had issues with constant rebooting.
I print up the labels and get ready to send it and get another email saying they are out of devices to replace it so they were issuing a full refund. They send me labels and I printed them up and informed my mom of the great news. I was just bought her a Moto X4 to replace the device and got her her very own Projectfi account.
The next day I get another email saying they made a huge mistake and they will not be refunding the money and I was pissed. I called them back they couldn't cancel my order so they told me to just right return to sender and have USPS pick it up to hand it off to FedEx. They have a partnership apparently.
I do that and haven't seen a refund and apparently either my package was stolen by one of those two companies because the FedEx tracking was never updated. Now I'm out the money for Moto X4 and Google won't give my money back without updated shipping. This is all because they screwed up....
I'm in the process of filing a claim with my credit card but have lost faith in Google and will probably just buy a different phone and never activate her Projectfi because I'm so over it.
I still can't believe how this worked out though. [emoji852]️

Question UK Currys/Carphone warehouse Purchase

Hello
Anyone here who purchased pixel phone from Currys or carphone warehouse website ever asked for proof of purchase with IMEI and actually got it?
Google asking for it to replace under warranty.
Stdange. I had good expierence with google RMA. I bought Pixel 6 Pro from hands. It was working ok, but unfortunately it heated very often in the summer and I asked google for RMA. And they didn't asked for proof of purchase. I said phone bought feom hands. And google replaced because phone still was under warranty. But with Pixel 2 XL google asked for proof of purchace because they wanted I'm going to the store and ask them to replace. And as store didn't want to replace google accepted for RMA.
Whenever i have bought from them the IMEI has always been on the reciept that was with the phone when it was delivered. You are probably better off letting Currys deal with the phone to be honest given your contract is with them.

Mine was delivered with no invoice.
Currys will take it back and see if they can repair which means no phone for who knows how long. Google includes warranty so want to use them for quick replacement.
Turn around was 2 weeks when i took a phone back to Currys, they just sent it off to Nokia who replaced the phone.

That's the problem I don't have spare phone. Google offer advanced replacement so they collect old and deliver new same time but keep a hold on bank for full amount in case they do not get correct old phone back.
With no proof of purchase/IMEI what choice do you have? You could end up nearly a grand out of pocket.
