Hello everybody
My Nexus 5 recently captured my attention as the camera is not workig anymore. I have the latest android version, not the L however, an it's unrooted. I only have retrica and instagram for taking picture as well, but they don't seem to work too due to this problem. I don't know where the problem can be originated from, but when I open the camera app it says Cannot connect to the camera. Has anyone of you exeperience it? How did you solve it?
I tried to delete the data from the app menu, stopped it, unistalled and reinstalled the updates but nothing has changed.
Thank you
Did you already try these suggestions? http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/connect-to-camera-error-upgrading-to-4-t2564457
Camera not working can be one of the frustrating things when you use a phone. As it involves hardware nothing much can be done. I use Cyanogen based phone which has not given me any problem. I would suggest to try it as it is heavily reliable.
did you try a reboot? seems so simple, but it can fix
Hi all,
First excuse me if this is not the good forum for this thread, I'm new to this website.
I have a big problem with my Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
It doesn't play any video or music. Not only in a specific app but in every app I tried.
I tried the youtube app, the stock music app, shuttle music player which I usually use, but it also doesn't work when I go to youtube, dailymotion or any video site with the chrome browser. Videos in my facebook news feed won't play too.
When I try to watch a video or listen to music or simply launch an app like youtube for example, the phone becomes so slow that I must close the app. If I manage to click on a video, it just won't start. Generaly the app crash or the phone shut down or restart.
With the vlc app I can see the video but there is no sound.
It really starts to piss me off, I don't understand what's the problem.
Maybe it a software problem, I thought I could do a hard reset.
But it could also be a hardware problem, specifically something in relation with the speaker or the sound system, because yesterday my phone made strange noises and three days ago it fell on the ground.
Any help is welcome. Thank you for everything in advance.
Hi!
The easiest way to solve the following:
1. hard reset.
2. It did not help, then reflash the firmware on the stock, or better service firmware.
3. It did not help, then contact the service, as it is likely unfortunately hard problem.
Sorry for my english, good luck!
Hello, thanks for your help.
I reset the phone and the problem is still here.
But I noticed something interesting.
When I reboot the phone, it works for a while before the problem come back.
But maybe it's just a coincidence, because this morning the speaker made strange noises right before the problem came back. So I'm more and more covinced that it's a hardware issue.
So I think i will take the phone to a repair storé if thé problem doesn't go away by itself.
It's my pleasure.
But if you reflash the device previously, you would advise to try to flash ... Although, if you can carry in service, it is better there.
Sorry if this is the wrong place for this.
Sony Xperia Z3 Compact running 5.0.2 Software 23.1.A.1.28
Specifically a UK Unbranded firmware downloaded from Xperifirm and combined with a recovery+SuperSU before flashing. Bootloader is also unlocked.
It's been around a week since rooting but in the last few days I've noticed issues surrounding video.
Trying to record video in the Camera app results in a message saying 'Camera not available' whilst attempts to play video in Youtube get 'There was a problem while playing. Touch to retry'.
Haven't attempted to test behaviour in all apps, but it does also prompt a 'video recording failed' in Snapchat, whilst received video snaps just play sound with a black screen. Even saved videos in my gallery won't play.
I do have Greenify running, but haven't touched any apps which would obviously cause this, and have left almost all of the Sony bloatware on the device besides AR Fun and AR Effect.
Restarting and wiping Dalvik/ART Cache both alleviate the problem for differing lengths of time but it always returns. I've Googled both the camera and Youtube errors and tried all of the suggested fixes to no avail, save for a hard reset.
I've reflashed the ftf/SU/recovery package and frozen My Xperia in Titanium just in case that was causing problems because of the unlocked bootloader but the problem still comes back.
Anyone else seen either of these problems before?
Hi there,
You need to ask this in the Z3 Compact's dedicated Q and A thread over here:

Good Luck
Hi,
Does anyone have an issue with XZP camera app? The camera app randomly crashes the phone quite often. I tried to clear the cache, make software repair and non of those options solved the problem. There was no issue in safe mode but maybe I didn't run the mode long enough to simulate the problem. I run 45.0.A.5.1 firmware version. No new update available for my version yet.
I have this problem too. Everytime I access camera from 3rd party app (E.g. Facebook, instagram, Manual Camera) My phone is unresponsive for minutes. Access camera from shutter button while phone is sleep can also cause this too.
Now I avoid this issue by took pictures with sony camera first and then browse it from 3rd party app.
But I experience the issue when I start the camera via hardware button also via original app shortcut
I have this problem as well, it doesn't happen every time but it happens often when I open the camera, the phone freezes and reboots. Does yours reboot or do you just force stop the camera app?
Yeah exactly, the phone reboots. How did you solve the problem. I tried to contact the Sony support but they recommended common procedures like clear cache and software repair (factory reset). None of those solutions helped at all
What model number do you have guys?
Sent from my G8142 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I have G8141.
I also tried to find solution on Sony support forum but no one from the support team isn't interested:
https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Camera/Xperia-XZ-Premium-Camera-crashes-phone-often/td-p/1235611
Does anyone know if this is being seen on all firmware? I have the G8142 with Hong Kong firmware, I haven't heard my wife mention this issue and she has the G8142 with the US firmware.
I have a Germany Vodafone firmware having this issue
I've got the same problem on my Z1 compact. It comes with the braodcom security patch almost 2 weeks ago. Phone runs hot, freezes, reboots or needs to become rebooted.
Looks like there's no suggestions or solution so far. The best would be to flash another version of firmware. But since Munjeni has been banned there is no guide how to flash 2017 models and where to download the latest version of the flash tool. Any idea?
The problem seems to be solved after the last update 45.0.A.7.120. No camera crash past 3 days!
Today the camera crashed again So unfortunately the issue has not been solved!

i think the problem is not with camera app or software. please use in safe mode. if it is yes we can think its because of software. but my think is its because of 3rd party app. please try to think and uninstall the software's what you installed in latest.
i think this is the solution. not because of the camera app or Sony software issue
I got the same answer from Sony support. Since it's occasional bug it is very hard to find out which app can cause the issue. I tried to unistall most of apps. But sometimes it's very often and sometimes it takes 1 to 2 days to crash the camera. Should I only look for app with permision to camera or it can be any app even not using the camera?
i have this issue too, i got the phone like two days ago and i'm upset about this issue. However i tried yesterday to remove the sd card to see if it will help resolve the problem will my phone haven't crashed yet, it may be the source of the problem.

Interesting you say this as I was having issues with my SD card when it was used for camera photo storage... My Lexar 1000x 128gb card would work for a few days, then photos would become corrupted and camera crashing began.. not long after, games started having issues and not loading and even after rebooting the phone and wiping the apps cache/data, it would still crash. So I pulled the card, full reset the phone, and zero issues ever since.
I recently bought a Samsung 256gb Evo Plus microsd, and after a few weeks, zero issues. all good..
TL;DR: Audio/video freeze on my phone even after factory reset. Flashing new ROM solves the issue except when I start certain apps which causes it to reoccur until I restart the phone.
I have a Poco X3 NFC and shortly after requesting to unlock bootloader I stared having a bug where whenever I played media (spotify, youtube, netflix, etc), the audio and video would stop/stutter every few seconds. The issue occurred both on speakers and bluetooth. After trying unsuccessfully to solve the issue I factory reset the phone and thought that would be it. However even after a factory reset I was still unable to play videos or music. I then tried the next best thing. I flashed the stock fastboot ROM from my computer using the Mi Flash Tool but the issue still continued.
Thinking it could be a problem with MIUI itself I then flashed TWRP and installed ArrowOS with the Optimus Drunk Kernel which greatly helped performance and battery life. For a little while the issue seemed gone but after opening facebook messenger I started having the same issue. A bit of experimenting revealed that some messaging apps like facebook messenger and the dialer caused the issue to reoccur until I restarted the phone and it worked again.
My only theory is that somehow a low level program like the bootloader somehow got corrupted and causes this issue when my messaging apps are running something in the background (although the issue continues after force stopping those apps). Does anyone have any thoughts on this issue or ideas how I can fix it?
