I installed it as a secondary on multirom and finding the battery a lot better as per my post below. Make a backup and give it a shot if there's nothing in particular keeping you on lollipop. Kitkat is still a very stable battery friendly ROM.

[Q] Rom advise please

Hi Guys,
I have just brought a TF700, and I have set up 3 user profiles, but it is very unstable even after i have disabled all of the unused apps.
From what I have been reading it would appear my best option is to put a custom rom on it.
Now i have achieved this kind of thing in the past as I put Android on a HTC HD2 many moons ago.
I currently have a HTC One and i love the OS on that which is 4.3, so i was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a 4.3 Rom that is fairly close to what i have on the HTC One for my TF700.
Thanks in advance
You didn't say which rom you put on your HTC
CM 10.2 emulates JB 4.3, I believe Paranoid and OMNI ROM also have 4.3 versions, but most of the devs seem to have moved on to KitKat (CM11), but it still seems to be somewhat buggy and slow at this point.
You find the threads in the development section

Thanks for coming back.
I haven't changed anything on my HTC One at moment because I am more than happy with how it is performing.
I will take a look, but once again thanks.
I have been looking at various threads, but I am still a bit undecided on which way to go.
Anyone else that has wanted to update to 4.3 have any tips or advise for me?
I wouldnt mind eventually going down the 4.4 route, but as I have only just got the tablet - I would firstly like to flash it to something more stable than it currently is.
Many Thanks
What really could help to speed up your TF700t is a factory restart.
For me it was really helping a lot .... even if i am right now "only" on rooted stock FW.
Try this as well.

I have only just brought it, and it was back to factory default, but I did it agin before puting all my apps that I wanted on.
And it was very slow and unstable then, but I then disabled all of the preinstalled apps that I didnt want to use, and it is better, but because I have heard that 4.3 does use less memory I still think it would be worth a try.

I am not sure why you think 4.3 is so much better than 4.2.1. AFAIK that was not a major update or improvement....
If you are looking for a fast and totally stable rom for this tablet, go for CROMi-X! It's based on the Asus firmware 4.2.1 for this tablet, so everything is optimized for THIS device. CM roms are generic. They run a on a multitude of devices - that's why you have more bugs and conflicts

Not that I'm aware of. It was a pretty minor upgrade. Kit Kat 4.4 offers far more interesting features.
Plenty of google results out there:

Thats fair enough.
I have to admit I like the look of the 4.3 more, but decided to upgrade to the CROMi-X one, and then wait for the 4.4 - which I did last night and I am very impressed - it is loads smoother.
So Thanks for your advise.

Nahhh - only tried it as ROM2SD. And it's still sleeping on some of my sd cards.
I was not impressed. CM didn't add anything but eye candy (I didn't care for) and I think by now CROMi-X in conjunction with Xposed modules (if you care for those and the performance hit they come with) gives you way more options to customize this tablet than CM.... not even mentioning your tweaks!

CROMi-X is just the nickname for CROMi-Xenogenesis (who wants to write that all the time???). CROMi 3.5 would be just a minor step up from what yo got now...
Latest and greatest version of CROMi-X is 5.2.4. But you are on an outdated bootloader and no doubt an old recovery.
So head over to the CROMi-X thread, grab the bootloader/TWRP package sbdags provided in the OP and download the rom (dl both to your microSD)
Boot into TWRP and do a Factory Wipe - that will wipe your apps, but not your data (but you got everything backed up anyway, right????)
Flash the bootloader/TWRP package and reboot
Boot back into TWRP and flash the ROM

Stock ROM(CM 11S) is the stable ROM as per my reading goes around oneplus board.
If you are looking for any Android L based ROMs, you need to try yourself all the ROMs.
For that you can get a root access on your device and install MultiROM mod.
I don't know any other Android KitKat based stable ROM to suggest you.
I hope this helps you
44s is defo the most stable for me.i went back to it after the latest update which broke a few things for me and horrible battery life
I would like to know one too.
There is no best stable ROM, because everyone has a different opinion on the matter, so you'll just get different answers. Look at the available ROMs, choose one you think you'll like, and read the last ten pages or so of the ROM thread, that'll tell you what bugs are currently present.

You need to make the decision for yourself. They're all kept up to date. I run Vanir-Exodus, it's very good, but that's just my opinion. There's no way to know which ROM is most used. Just pick one and flash it, if you don't like it then flash another one, that's the fun of running custom firmware.

Ok i got the rom and everything works fine now. I play Darkness Reborn perhaps you have heard of the game and I have issues with this. Whenever I am in the game and I tap some things it says unfortunately the game has stopped working and it kicked me out. Do you think this could have something to do with the ROM? I tried to reinstall the game tried deleting the cache still nothing seems to help.

ROM: Stock vs Custom

Hello, I've tried various custom lollipop roms in the past few months and they all had problems. My personal observation is that the stock rom has always been more stable and superior and that I could not see any real functionality benefit with custom roms...Perhaps prism is the best one compared to all others.
Am I the only person here who has reached this conclusion?

You are right, if you have life out of your mobile phone then stock ROM is the best otherwise waste your life in never ending process of flashing and modding your phone......lolz. There will be a stage when you'll be happy that CM12.1 is half stable but then Android M will be out.
the stock ROM is much stable but it not so fast like custom, anyways you can try to use a custom for a while and decide what is the best for you
I also experienced that in costom always has a bugs... I using stock firmware together with Nova Launcher...
Stock here - 5.0.1 stable, smooth and fast. Don't see any point in changing.... And I used to be a big modder!
I tried cm 12.1 and returned to stock because it bored me. It didn't give me what I wanted. It's a bit overestimated. Rooting and flashing makes me addicted to phone. Never ending process. Always wanting more. Stick to original and enjoy.
Yes I agree with you till some point. Till now I have tried almost every rom out there for my 9505, but almost always I am coming back to stock. According to me and the current situation there are only two custom roms that are really providing stock stability and I have seen not a single bug, so they can be daily drivers. They are the current version of Danvdh's gpe rom (with the couple of the previous ones I had minor issues. At least after LP came out) and the second and the one where I have never experienced any single bug in no single version of it (LP or KK), and that is the TW rom from iB4stid (sadly he will not develop for 9505 anymore), goldeneye (and also goldenfinger in the time of KK). However goldeneye is almost same as stock so maybe thats why I like it.
The benefit that I see from using the goldeneye despite stock rom is that you can always use the latest rom relased but again stiching to the modem version of the operator that I am using my phone with (I do not have good experience with flashing separate modem packages), with that taking the best of both worlds. In this situation you have the modem that works best with your carrier and the latest base from samsung that has the same stability as the stock one.
Danvdh' gpe rom is good for me when I am tired from TW but again having very very stable and fast rom. Ive even have better battery life and I can say it is the snappiest rom out there. It is beyond Goldeneye regarding that criteria.
The only concern is surely that Samsung aren't going to release Android M for GS4? Just won't happen will it?
hi, i just bought i9505 , i want to install a custom rom but i hesitate.
Currently my i9505 is very stable and responsive with Stock rom based on lollipop 5.0.1
can you please tell me if is it a good idea to change to custom rom or not ? i want try UPSM and others mod
What is advantage if i change rom ?
is it easy to come back to stock if i decide to try custom rom ?
Thank you in advance
I've tried both custom and stock roms and I am now using a stock rom because I also own a Samsung Gear 2 Neo, which only works properly on the stock rom for now...

I thought I had seen that feature on Stock Lollipop? hmm, maybe not. Still, it's a niche feature (I actually work in business where conference calls are regular and we use a bridge), and as put Skype and Hangouts do it pretty well too.

ROM decision

Hey everybody!
I found myself with some spare time and would like to flash my D6633 a custom Rom for LB, however there are quite some to choose from.
I am not searching for “the best“, but rather your opinion
What are you using as daily driver and why? What is the most handy feature about the ROM?
Thanks for all suggestions!
I would suggest CyanogenMod since it's been around for a longer time and things always work as they should. I have been using CM12.1 for my Z3 as a daily driver and it's definitely a better experience compared to stock rom.

If i'm going to be honest, Stock will always be the best, Although Android Marshmallow concept was extremely promising when i had it installed, And if i'm honest i really hope Sony keeps that stock look with those small hints of Sony features, that would be my ideal ROM,
Try the Marshmallow Concept, But let me tell you you will always find yourself coming back to Stock Rom.

Go and report your own thread to moderator so it can be move to Q&A section... Btw, to answer your question, you should try the ROM 1st because everyone has their own preference, some say A is good while some say B is better than A or vice versa... Flash one and test for 3 to 5 days, if it suites your dailies then you picked the right one...
I'm currently using the official cm14.1 nightly but I certainly do not recommend it at the moment. It still has some rough edges to be smoothened. I'm using it plainly because of my personal obsession.
Meanwhile I heard that TugaPower is quite stable and efficient. Perhaps you could give it a try.

Why doesnt someone make cm14 with sultan camera hals?
they are public as well
I loved AICP Rom but last update was a disaster for me (camera doesn't still work even if I've tried tons of apk and flashable versions ; also, the device is getting more slowly) .
So I want to change my rom, cleaning everything and "start to scratch", to avoid any conflicts... I use phone to work, so I can no longer test Roms and spent my time making and restoring backups ( ).
So, my (noob) question is: what is actually the stablest (or with less bugs) and performing Rom (costum/original/independent developers)? And his configuration (in terms of camera, kernel, gapps and so on)?
Really thanks
