Hi all,
Could someone please check the cpu revision in the bootloader of the g flex 2 after android update 5.1.1
I'm wondering if its v2.1 or v2.0
because its highly likely it will say v2.1
I have at&t so I will likely never see an update.

Maybe we have revision 1 then ,i have the same result with 5.0.1
woah,
I thought revision 1 was only used in the prototype tablet.
Seems LG and Qualcomm used the g flex 2 as a test device then.
Ok,
So for anybody that is intrested. It is indeed the rev 1p1 in the lg g flex 2.
After android update 5.1.1 it seems like cpu4 and cpu7 have been turned off and the cpu has been capped at 1.56GHz (ranges from 384 MHz - 1.56 GHz (feel free to correct me if i'm wrong, the correcter the information i get about this phone the better)
In general, it looks like the phones performance issues have gone away, and its Flying like a phoenix from the ashes.
It does however feel like a double edged blade.

Sorry but It is not like this. CPUs, turn on/off depending on the load of work they have to serve or the temperature.
I just checked my phone with CPU-Z app and 8 cores were working:
4X1958MHz and the others 4X1555MHz
With 5.1 1 performance was decreased compared with 5.0.1 rooted debloated with custom thermal settings .5.1.1 has quite better battery life though.
Revision r1p1, can confirm clock speed.
well i was researching to buy this phone, and the one i bought is r0p2
gets pretty hot atm, but i guess thats because i'm downloading and installing some apps
The r0p2 was on 5.0.1
now my phone got the 5.1.1 update and it says r1p1
and i don't get the fuss about this device being slow or warm
my nexus 5 got way hotter and was way more sluggish then this beast

Yep. But how can the revision of a cpu change. Is that software related? If so,there is no difference between g flex 2 sd810 and new 2.1 revision in sony z3+ or oneplus two. Its all bs then.

Oneplus 2 will underclock to 1.8 instead of 2 and use a better thermal hardware. throttling is in all 810 phones thats a fact. Even xiaomi mi note pro have issues... But the problem is not that bad . qualcomm i think wasnt ready to release 64 bit cpu ...
according to cpu-z,mine is r1p1 rev. and i'm stock on 5.0.1...
Sorry for noobish question, but can anyone explain me is SoC software or hardware related and are all lg g flex 2 CPU same(are snapdragon 810 v.2 and v2.1 same cpu-s with different software,or different cpu-s)?

Hello,
not that those numbers matter so much but just out of curiosity why the new samsung with the same chipset as the o2x scores so much higher in Quadrant?
Is it because of the 1GB of RAM?

i may be corrected but i think the galaxy r has uses EXT 4, while our o2x uses EXT 3 when referenced as stock, giving the o2x a considerably lesser score in quadrant
quadrant is outdated and no use for newer phones, those scores mean nothing as far as im aware quadrant STILL does not properly support dual core devices.
Try cf-bench, made by the creator of chainfire3d, try at standard clock speed then try cloakk the cpu to match that of the sgs2 and you will see that the tegra 2 device out performs its rivals in many areas when the over clock is matched. and sometimes even when is lower.
really sick of seeing quadrant its such a crap app.

Yes but the stock rom is crap, and if the o2x tegra 2 chip was released overclocked like the sgs2 was then the o2x would get better stats, the sgs2 gpu is good but the tegra gpu is way better with 3d stuff and that's whats important as we get into more advanced games.
I take it you have not rooted or installed any custom roms so i suggest you do, it will open up your phone to better things and increase performance by 100% compared to that crappy stock rom.
i downloaded the last version of quadrant from google play and im getting very low scores with my atrix 2..
i don't have any widgets, live wallpapers , 3rd party launchers, etc that could affect the results..
my scores are:
total: 1906
cpu: 1977
mem: 2471
2d: 211
3d: 2029
the max score i've got is about 2100.. and the average for this phone must be around 2600-3000 if im not wrong, i haven't installed any custom rom, i have the stock GB 2.3.6
what could be the problem ???

There you go... that sounds right (that about what my wife's stock A2 gets).
And, yea, it can get bogged down after long periods of use without rebooting..
Moto recommends at least one reboot a day (at least they did to me when trying to troubleshoot my brick)!
Also, you can put most all of your apps on the Auto-End list in the stock Task Manager, and try Cache Cleaner from the Play Store... also good to clean up the dalivk-cache once in a while... might help keep you running smoother.

They may have, putting a check in place that queries the CPU's specific ID to find out what batch it's from. If it's from a good batch, 1200, if not, 1000. That's a POSSIBILITY.

Very interesting.... I wouldn't put it past Motorola to only overclock the "good" chips, nice quality assurance there Moto . First time I heard about this I just thought "Well okay, an overclock from GB stuck through to ICS, no big deal", but it's been confirmed that isn't the case. Strange how some are overclocked and some are not. A big company like Moto shouldn't have "good" batches and "bad" batches, if that is the case we will never get an official word on this, maybe it's a kind of soak test, trying the 1.2 over clock on certain phones only..... But I don't know.

I think it does something to check if your cpu is capable of being stable at the higher speed. Unfortunately, mine is still at 1000Mhz also. I was hoping for the higher speed but not so lucky.
Its not that simple of a check to determine if it can run...
- Mine bootlooped when OC'd to 1200 on 2.3.5
- Its 1200 on 4.0 fine
- Others had it OC'd to 1200 with no problem on 2.3.5
- They have it set by default to 1000 on ICS
I made a survey about this some time ago, but almost all of my theories went down the drain...
mine stayed at 1000mhz.:banghead:

Apparently these screenshots were taken by "some dude" on an AT&T Moto X, to a friend, who then sent them to Brian Klug, a senior editor for Anandtech.
Here are the screenshots:
The phone probably has a Snapdragon 600! Or something similar, because I don't honestly think an S4 Pro could perform that well. Maybe Moto's baked something special just for us!

Comparing the Moto X to an Evo LTE? This thing is benchmarking with Snapdragon 600's, and its going to be really buttery and smooth! You must be crazy to think that

We all know specs aren't everything, ask the laggy galaxy s 4.

Motorola optimized something, so even if it *is* a dual core, it will still perform as if it had a quad core baked into it

Did you even see the benchmark numbers? It kills the EVO. Since it is not a 5 inch screen, I don't see why you would need a 1080p screen.
I know that there is already another topic on thermal throttling and i have tried it but for some reason my benchmarks stays at 1120 for single core and for multicore it stays around 3000 which is pretty bad for a snapdragon in my opinion
Has any one got any better thermal engine configs that they would like to share
As the only reason i rooted was to configure my thermal engine but for me it just never reached 4000
Any thermal engine configs would be appreciated
Thanks

might be the governor, i say that because when i was using ghospepper5x from the thread here, I was getting @4000 multicore score every time, though the single core score on it was very bad at @600
Ok

I see what u mean im using ghostpepper (updated version of ghostpepper5x) but i dont know any other good governors

I'm not sure what sort of real world benefit your looking for.
Applying a profile is not enough. It will revert to default as soon as a lock screen comes up. The phone needs to reboot with the new settings.
If you are looking for beneficial information. Go to the Nexus 6P forums
Thats what i did

I set it to apply on boot

You guys are doing something wrong... this are my benchmarks with no root, i'm on 15c
just got this with 'butterfly' settings (from the other thread) for interactive governor, also using modified thermal file and setting thermal control to msm_thermal with ex kernel app. run at normal room temperature with decent battery percentage left, i notice it starts showing down at @ 20%

Have you debloated your phone first? Disable mlt? After you apply probainas thermal settings you need to run some benchmarks first and make a couple of reboots
you should let the phone "use" the new settings. After some time you will see results Then if you have exposed you can try performance profile and create profiles to the apps you want.
you can see here my geekbench scores http://browser.primatelabs.com/user/kutulu32
in perf profile use performance governor ,activate all cores, in min max use the biggest freq , gpu also use biggest value.
Also consider that 15a is the fastest firmware for the phone(my opinion) ,the next versions slow phones performance a little bit.
with performance profile you will see also huge performance increase also in other benchmarks as 3dmark pcmark antutu etc and of course during gaming..

I dont have xposed i used to but i started to mess around with it and my phone got stuck on lg security error so i dont want xposed but can i still get ur score currently my scores are 1293 and 3890
I have debloated my phone
I dont think i diabled mlt (i dont know where mlt is)
I applied probainas thermal and rebooted then ran a few more geekbenchs
Added the butterfly interactive governor to my phone using ex kernal manager
Now i just nees to try and hit the scores u are hitting as the whole reason i rooted was for performance and less thermal throttling and that has decreased alot but i really need performance
