It ranks next to Snapdragon 600s strangly enough. I like the boot animation personally....

I've also never seen any Android phone in existence open Chrome that fast.....

Apparently these screenshots were taken by "some dude" on an AT&T Moto X, to a friend, who then sent them to Brian Klug, a senior editor for Anandtech.
Here are the screenshots:
The phone probably has a Snapdragon 600! Or something similar, because I don't honestly think an S4 Pro could perform that well. Maybe Moto's baked something special just for us!
This will be updated as soon as I obtain new information to add

Chrome was already opened recently. It wasn't a cold start; it appears exactly the same way on my Oppo Find 5 and HTC One if I have the tab opened recently.

How does CPU-Z actually ID the hardware? Is the CPU specs ID'd by CPU model number or are they placeholders in this case because it is an unreleased phone?

From what I understand, it actually knows the exact hardware. I mean, worst comes worst, you just download cpu-z and try it on your own device to see if it matches up. I wouldn't think they're placeholders

It seems this is some kind of S4 Pro to me but somehow it's optimized really well.

See that's what I'm thinking, motorola somehow optimized the hell out of the OS and hardware to make it fast as lightning!

It has the same hardware as the EVO LTE, only more RAM. It's not even a 1080p screen.

An Evo LTE wouldn't benchmark like that. If they've done something special hardware/software wise that's something awesome and will probably keep the costs down.

Comparing the Moto X to an Evo LTE? This thing is benchmarking with Snapdragon 600's, and its going to be really buttery and smooth! You must be crazy to think that

Did you even see the benchmark numbers? It kills the EVO. Since it is not a 5 inch screen, I don't see why you would need a 1080p screen.

It said it was running 2.2.1 but the video was fake as hell. Our tablet does not have an sd slot yet in the video it said sd mounted and as soon as it got to the part where it shows the storage amount it blurs out. Also the cameraman conveniently drops the camera the one time where the dude forgets to swipe his finger yet the tablet still switches to a new page. From the looks it did not seem legit to me at least.
It's probably seeing the internal drive space as the SD card space.

If u notice the SD storage read 28gigs. It's reading the internal SD card as the external. So that's legit. And second the nexus s I believe didn't have a SD slot yet the option was still there and showed storage.

I don't notice any pixelation at all and I came from a Sensation. Going any closer than like 5" to any screen just gives me a headache. I wouldn't trade this display for anything. Honestly, the tiny icons on higher res screens bug the **** out of me. Nothing seems noticeably crisper, just smaller.

Lol. Sure the NS has higher pixel density but it will definitely lag behind in terms of GPU performance, especially because of the huge resolution, which is imho totally out of place in a phone. The GS2 with its good amount of subpixels looks pretty good, and the screen is still huge so high resolution isn't really needed. I'm also quite sure that battery life will be worse on the NS: if ICS uses the gpu properly then the overclocked 540 of this phone will eat it all real quick having to push all those pixels

Quadrant scores aren't exactly the best way to demonstrate which is better.
A video of both phones side by side performing tasks will be much more telling.
Cool. I heard it hit close, but wasn't sure how close. Do you have anything done to your HOX?
You might want to use the power button + home button to take screenshots in order to prevent the volume changing and getting in the way of your shots. Just a tip.

When someone claims something is faster, I always ask "At what?" The hardware is half the story. It's what application the hardware is used for is what we can actually make use of.
Yes, the Snapdragon S4 Krait beats the Tegra 3 in a benchmark and vice versa has happened in a few instances as well. Essentially, there should be little to no perceivable difference between the two processors. HTC would be stupid to allow for that to happen and Qualcomm equally stupid to allow the Tegra 3 to beat their latest and greatest.
Don't get me wrong because I believe multiple benchmarks are important in order to compare hardware/software to a set standard. But given the small margins in scores, its hard to worry about one being better than the other.
Well for one thing the att one x has much better battery life as well as 4glte

To be expected. The S4 is a much more modern chip. Of all the stats the only one that's surprised me is that Teg3 battery life isn't as bad as you'd expect based on it being two 40nm A9 chips glommed together. It actually outperforms the SGS3 on talk time and web browsing when adjusted for battery size. AMOLED kills it on video playback because of the lower drain from darker colors.
Here's all three. And before people get disillusioned about the SGS3 scores, benchmarks are meaningless once speeds pass a certain point. The OS and apps aren't capable of using all the speed available in Exynos Quad, S4, or Teg3. Also when looking at the video scores of older phones keep in mind PPI on new HD phones is 30+% higher. So to compare the actual GPU improvements subtract 30% from an older non-HD phone's score. Same applies to the qHD display on the One S.

But if we was just satisfied with what is NEEDED then there wouldn't be any progress. Not to mention that LTE needs to be that fast for when it gets bogged down by the iPhone 5 when it drops, just like the 3G network did when the 2nd generation iPhone came out.

The only thing the Galaxy Nexus really has over the G2x is the amount of RAM...
G2x RAPES the Nexus in 3D graphics/gaming... The Nexus is even more bogged down cause of it's higher resolution.
This tread is depressing. The superior performance was the reason i bought this phone, i mean the damn thing beats out my tablet ( AND EVEN THAT HAS ICS!!!). why cant these companies release at least the source for these phone after they have died?
It's nothing with performance issues, it's based on the fact T-Mobile EOL'd the phone so they don't want to pay to get g2x
but if you ask them they will say it's on LG
If you ask LG they will say it's on t-mobile.
Its not just T-Mobile and LG here, nVidia is playing the worst part here. But, it has been reported by LG that they are doing 'beta development' for the O2x. So maybe, just maybe we'll get ics, unofficially though. :/

I have a thread going with a LG rep over at the LG forums. Official word is as follows:
Brian (Official Rep) 4 hours ago
Sorry I've let this thread sit idle so long, but I've been perplexed about why a TMO rep would post what they did and had to escalate this for an appropriate response.
We were surprised and disappointed to hear that a single TMO rep placed all of the blame onto LG. We have brought this to their attention and we were assured they would quickly correct the response.
LG works very closely with each carrier to bring software updates to our phones. It is very much a joint effort and there are multiple layers of testing involved on both sides to determine whether or not the software will provide the best user experience possible.
Based on extensive testing there are no plans to bring ICS to G2x at this time. However, we can expect future LG devices on TMO to have later versions of Android software
Edit: This is in a thread called "can't you please just confirm this already" which was a demand to LG to say yes/no based on TMO saying LG decided not to update the G2x to ICS.
