[Q] MT07-L09 Failed to Update B143 - Ascend Mate 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have had this Mate 7 for a couple of days and decided to root it with Kingroot and Kinguser. Turned out to be a big mistake. This is my first android phone, so I didn't know with a rooted phone I can't update any OTA directly until I failed my first attempt. So I decided to uninstall Kingroot without unroot. This is another mistake. The Kingroot was uninstalled, but Kinguser stays. Then I searched internet to find that I would have to unroot my phone first. So I tried using Kinguser to unroot, which seemed to be working. But I can't uninstall Kinguser. In App setting, Kinguser only allows to me "Force Stop" or "Disable".
I tried using SUPERSU or Kingo Root to take over Kinguser, but none worked. I tried resetting my phone to factory settings, it worked but the updated still can't be installed. BTW, the update version is B143.
Please help! I love this phone. With B137 stock, the phone is amazing! But the red update reminder just annoys me! Thank you!

B143 for MT-L09??? Last versikn should be B141...where did yoi find it? Please post or write link here.

Sorry, I don't even know the link. It just shows up on my phone. I searched everywhere, but I couldn't find anything on any Huawei's website.

[Q] SuperSU Permanent Unroot

Hay guys I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini (GT-I8910N) an I've rooted it, but now I see there is new update coming out an I want to unroot my phone to update it. And I'm interested if any of you guys tried to unroot your phone using SuperSU's permanent unroot, I saw that option, but it just sounds to easy. So if I use that option will I be able to download new update and use NFC again? And will I be able to root my phone again?
Check out OTA Rootkeeper in the Play Store.

I have tried unroot device completely.. It went pretty smooth... And I again rooted my phone again without any sweat...

the only way to truly unroot your device is to flash the stock firmware back onto it.
the unroot option in superuser or whatever does not remove all traces of root on any phone, even though it may technically be no longer rooted.

Hi,
my phone has been having issues since rooting. if i unroot then downgrade, can i root again? supersu says unroot is permanent- not sure what it means
Unroot on supersu not working on oneplus 2...
stuck in 'please wait...'
i get "uninstalling, please wait..." , and it never completes.
this happens when i try to use: "full unroot, cleanup for permanent unroot" (in settings).
the full unroot is simply not working/stuck, acting like it is uninstalling. i tried a bunch of reboots, and root checker confirms i'm still rooted.
i have already bricked my phone once, previously, trying to unroot (because this feature did not work on my device: oneplus 2, and i got over-zealous trying to unroot).
help! i don't want to brick again trying to unroot.
would like to get updates when 1+ make them available.
no help googling this problem.

possible fix...
unticked unknown sources for apps under security, and supersu let me "unroot." i made a number of attempts to unroot and got no results til i did this. when 1+2 gets an update, i will know. root checker says, "Sorry! root access not properly installed...," now.

Galaxy 4 7.0 SM-T230NU Root (vRoot)

After spending 2 days to figure out how I can get root on my newly purchased Galaxy Tab 4 7.0,
I finally got it to work through vRoot.
Here's a detailed instruction from ShinySide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/general/root-galaxy-tab-4-7-t230-t2835264
Now, where I had the problem wasn't what I did. Rather, it was the auto update that Samsung rolled out in August.
I tried doing through vRoot like, 50 times, and got the same result over and over.
Then I read ShinySide's post saying the August update interferes with vRoot so I had to flash my tablet with older firmware.
Lucky for me, ShinySide also has this available on this forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2778374
I did it with NE2, and BOOM. VRoot rooted my phone like a charm.
So, those of you who are having trouble with vRoot (probably seeing X mark instead of a check mark at the end)
check your firmware under About Phone.
If it says August, then you have to flash the device back to the older firmware.
That little detail made me go crazy for the past 2 days, so I thought I'd share that.
So, just remember two things:
1) Check your firmware!
2) DISCONNECT Internet as soon as you install vRoot and run it while you are NOT connected to avoid auto update.
And make sure to THANK ShinySide 'cause he made this possible!
Thank you for posting. I've been looking for root options for my T230NU and was skeptical about VRoot. I don't trust random apps that aren't even in English, you know?
Your post looks good so I may attempt to root as well. Please update if it turns out that VRoot is a bs virus.

I just tried the vroot method and should've known it was trouble when I had to uninstall my antimalware software to download and install it. Damn thing installed five other programs, including trojans, and changed my browsers to go through a proxy. Best of all, it did NOT work. Beware!

Here's a link to another guide for the SM-T230NU.

Thanks all....I haven't tried it yet. My Note 4 is sufficing and working on a few PC builds so just haven't had the need for it lol. I'll try one tomorrow and see what works. +1
HELP!
I think I may have bricked my SM-T230NU
I googled how to root SM-T30NU and didn't realize google was showing me instructions for SM-T530NU when I actually was trying to root SM-T230NU
I followed this guide
(can't share links but if you google root SM-T30NU you should find it)
I get message I am in Odin Mode and my current Binary is custom system status official
It says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again"
I tried both versions of Kies I found and it doesn't show up in recovery mode.
I am a total noob, please help if possible.
Have you gotten it fixed yet? If not go to the opening post and find the link to the NE2 firmware. Follow instructions there to flash to NE2. You should be fine.

SuperSU remains on phone after system update but cannot be accessed or deleted

I used a root explorer to access the file, it says it can't be deleted because it's read only. Going to superSU on the play store shows that it is installed and shows no option to uninstall. What do I do.

Root D850 Marshmallow?

Hai I flashed Turbo ROM and for some reason I don't have root... I have SuperSU but it says there's no su binary installed... Also I can't get into TWRP, because it hangs on the TWRP logo screen and doesn't get passed that. How can I root my device so I can fix my recovery, or the other way around? Thanks
go to play store and download supersu app. restart the phone. this will get you root. then install twrp app from google and reinstall it through app. i think this will help you get into recoery.

I already tried that :c. I ended up using the TOT method to restore 10D and worked my way through rooting it and putting a recovery on it. c: Now that the D850 has an official 6.0 update, I expect we'll see Marshmellow roots for our device c:

KingRoot gives you temporary root on stock D850 Marshmallow.
When you reboot/restart, you lose root and it takes about 3 minutes or so, using the KingRoot android app, to regain root.
The apps requiring root that I've tried have all worked without issue.
Whether you want KingRoot installed on your phone is another issue.
I haven't come across a better solution for getting root on stock D850 Marshmallow yet.

I just used the latest android app from: https://kingroot.net
http://king.myapp.com/myapp/kdown/i..._B263_office_release_2016_05_09_105203(1).apk
From the about section of the KingRoot app on my LGG3:
"KingRoot V4.9.2 143
Kernel Version v4.8.0 67 / Su version v3.61"
If KingRoot does work you could look at this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=darkslide.com.supersumepro app to remove KingRoot and install SuperSU. I have not used the app I just saw someone on Reddit report that it worked for them.

Actually u can use kingroot to root ur marshmallow phone. although root access is gone if u uninstall the kingroot app. Basically u get root access through kingroot. all other apps gain access through it.

Root, recovery and ROMS for Alcatel Pop Star 5022x

Does anybody know if there are any decent ROM ports available for this phone? Custom recovery? I can't even manage to root it.
The stock 5.1 ROM is terrible. So is the battery life, incidentally.
Thanks in advance.
Got root no ROM
Hi there, I have just managed to root my 5022x with kingoapp and then I uninstalled kingoapp and installed SuperSU (because I don't trust kingo enough to keep it on my phone) and now I'm rooted. However I still haven't found any ROMs
Hope you find one.

Hi there,
Sorry I'm late.
Anyway all I did was I uninstalled the permissions manager installed by kingoapp and I uninstalled kingoapp.
Then, I downloaded SuperSu from the play store and then opened it. After that it will say "binary update required" or something along those lines.
All you have to do is click on the normal method.
Anyway I hope it works out for you.
