Yeah it's gonna vibrate and only show the led it won't turn on the screen at all but you are in the correct mode to flash it.

isn't there a guide to revive hardbricked z3? why no info leak from sony? since they already have z3+ as the new top terminal, they should be willing to give the diagram of the test point and the correct package to flash

hard bricked z3 sollution?

Any news on how to deal with a hard bricked Z3 yet?

The only way to Revive a z3 is via setoolbox. So, you have to buy one and give it a try

Hi Moses,
thanks for your reply.
i've googled and found something called setool box 3.
do you know of any cases where this has worked for a z3? i cant find any info regarding the repair of a hard bricked z3, only older phone models.
thanks again.

There's a forum where it's been said that it supports up to z3+. Still no z5 support, but it will be a matter of time. It's a cheap item, just usd 35 las time I saw it

2. Now launch Sony Update Service and select Xperia C in the list and then press Next.
3. Hold the Volume Up button and plugin microusbcable while doing so, if that doesn't work for you, hold power + volume up and plugin the microusbcable while doing. Keep holding button combination for a few seconds and wait for a green light on your phone, if it appears check on

I flashed a faulty recovery using mobileuncles and there was no signs of life other than a red led liggt, and holding power + volume up works just fine and it went into flashmode.
I have the same issue.
I organized xperia light rom for our xperia c, I flashed it from custom recovery. Phone is completely dead now.
There is a just red light, phone does not go into download or fastboot mode. Pc Companion, Sony Update Center, Wmshua Flashtool do not recognize the phone.
Any suggestion with that?
I don't have warranty, my last option is to pay money for technical service.
this worked for me but instead of POWER+VOL UP i used POWER+VOL DOWN
thanks
thank, i like this forum
worth to try... (hope it won't happen to me  )
I have experienced this too, however, instead of using the Sony Update Service, I used the Sony PC Companion. At first it was not working, so I did a hard reset on the phone (press the button at the back). I held the power+up button while inserting the cable, and finally it was detected by Sony. It will reset your device to factory settings though.

It worked for my Xperia M (rooted on JB 4.3) with a locked bootloader which was STUCK on bootloop screen and when I did the whole thing with holding the power and volume up button (after I let the battery die after so many bootloops it did), FINALLY I was able to take it to flashmode, while I had selected from Sony PC Companion to repair my phone, and after 3-4 tries, I DID IT!!! Thank you so much for this thread ( I DEFINITELY pressed the "thanks" button), it really SAVED ME time and money (because I was planning to send it to Sony to fix it and you ALL know how bastards Sony is)!!!! And to all those of you who are DESPERATE to fix their phone (I hope you read this thread), DON'T PANIC, and DON'T GIVE UP!!! It took me 2 days of searching the web, and FINALLY I MADE IT!!! There are ALWAYS solutions to these kinds of problems!!!!

Had you press the " reset " button ? It is in the SD/sim slot .
Conect the device to the charger, wait some minutes then remove the sim and sd and press the reset button that is located in sd/sim slot (device still conected to the charger) for 3 seconds.

NOTE: READ IT BEFORE YOU DO IT!
Only way to fix is using flash tools. You mentioned it didn't work but try following my instructions and see if it works
1) if you have flashtools uninstall it completely just for safe measure
2)reinstall the latest version
3)install the driver in side this folder(C:\Flashtool\drivers) NOTE: depends on your drive OS and install locations
4)open it up and let it do it's thing
5)once its pulled all it's goodness form github click "Devices" next to help
6)check updates and select phone (m2 hopefully)
7)this bit is a bit tricky as it depends on which phone you have (i know xperia m2 but which model?!?!?!?)
8)i have the D2305 which is single simmed black one (dunno if colours matter but for the sake of it it does)
9)look through the list choose one of the items (the names are based on country codes so pick US if you can't find yours; the global version has an annoying bit in the statute bar about your carrier and it's MASSIVE)
10) let it download and extract it took me a good 20min with my PC and internet may vary depending on your PC and ISP
11)click the lighting bolt and select flash mode
12) wait a few mo' s and when it pops up saying plug your device in...
13)REINSTALL THE DRIVERS i had to maybe it's just me
14)open the sim/sd slot and find a nice lil' hole
15) stick a pin or paper clip in it (it'll shut down the phone, just incase you were trapped in bootloop and couldn't tell if was on or off)
16)HOLD DOWN THE VOLUME DOWN
17) plug in your micro usb to your phone
18) insert the usb (large one to pc) into the pc
19) it should make a "bum bum" windows connection sound
20) tons of random code and stuff will start to spew out of the flashtool, wait for it to finish
21) after the green bar fills up and it tells you to reboot, you reboot
22)hold on to power button and let it do it's thing NOTE: NOTHING ELSE!!! JUST POWER
You should now hear the sony boot up and be able to set it up like it was new.
If it does work just leave a comment soother know.
IF it doesn't then copy and pastebin the flash tools results and maybe i can hep you
Sorry if it was a bit (REALLY) long and spammy
Thanks
Thank you my friend for your time. Il try it tommorow because now im in work and i say to you if this work.

Open Flashtool, select the ftf you want to flash, when it says : connect your phone, press volume down + connect usb. Flashing should start, wait till done, when it's finished you'll get message: disconnect your phone. Disconnect phone and turn it on, first boot should take little longer so be patient.
Good Luck.

You need to install PC Companion (it installs needed drives) and Flashtool/drivers - Fastboot & Flashmood (if you are on Windows 8.1 you'll have to disable driver signature verification) reboot after installing you should be good to go.

Xperia Z5 not booting up/red blinking light after update = Bricked?

Hi gang,
My Xperia Z5 (E6603) would not boot up after the latest update. I'm guessing it must've died during the update.
I tried:
Reset (Pwr + Vol+/-) and OFF button in sim card tray. All reset attempt was done several times with and without the simcard tray.
I noticed the phone did not vibrate when I tried Pwr + vol+ or with the OFF button by itself. It only vibrate when the OFF and Pwr button were held down simultaneously.
To rule out it was battery, I let it charged for almost 2 days now without any success. I still get the slow blinking red light and no solid red or orange or green light indicating the device is fully charged. I also check the integrity of the battery at the stored and it is at 4.0 V, so I believe the battery is not the problem.
Unplugging battery method: Tried unplugging the battery and connect to the computer then plugged it back in with no luck.
Flashtool was not recognized after holding Vol- and connect to the computer.
I also tried different charger and usb
i read from many forum that the battery needs to die in order to reset the kernel. Should I just let the battery discharged? Or are there others ways that are more efficient?
I'm not sure what to do at this point. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Go to phone repair outlets in your city, not in Sony Service Center. usually they can fix hardware problem. I dont know what software are used. I only know with Jtag can repair bootloader via test point.

not sure. locked or unlocked should work, because the files inject directly to emmc
by the way, have you try to change another battery?
ave you tried to boot the phone into download mode?
Have you tried the actual Sony Tool and the Recovery-Process?
With that i unbricked my Z5 from that symptons i think 2 or 3 times already after the flash went somehow wrong because it stopped midway.

Another thing - on my Laptop i can't access fastboot mode because it restarts everytime (showing the blue led and then it reboots), therefore i have to attach the Z5 to the Dockingstation.
But it seems like it is completeley dead right?
just to be sure - press and hold vol up and then connect your usb-cable. If the LED stays blue - gg
Then you just have to install the fastboot driver in Test-Mode (reboot to f8 and deactivate the Enforced Driver Signature) and then you may be able to atleast flash or better first boot the phone with a new kernel. If the boot works and then crashes you have your first step to unbrick the phone.
fastboot boot "kernel-image"
Altough i don't have any idea which Kernel you should choose

Dead Sony Xperia Z5(Dual)

Dears, appreciating your support regarding my issue.
My wife Sony Xperia Z5 suddenly stopped working (fully charged),it is not showing anything on the screen and blinking 3 times Red Led.
I already searched over the forum for the simlar cases and also tried all the suggestion such as :
-Power & Vol-
-pressing the off button in the simcard tray...
-using xperia compagnon : not detecting directly the phone but successfully passed the repair phase but the phone still not reacting (same as before).
-Used flashtool and xperifirm to download the original firmware...but still no change...
I want to avoid opening the phone and disconnect the battery as it is till under warranty, i want you opinion and advices before sending it.
Thanks in advance.

I didn't have warranty for my phone (it was an international E6653, but I live in the US), so I ended up having to buy a new phone out-of-pocket... Hopefully you can manage to restore it or at the very least RMA it to Sony under warranty.
Good luck!
