hello every one
i have a problem with the application Facebook For HtcSense
when i try to log in i get this massage:
service temporery unavailable
im trying for 2 days now
you think its a problem with the application itself?
the option Clear data Via the recovery can solve this problem?
or you know a better way?
thank you
im having a problem with mine too
From my experience and through google, it appears this is a problem with HTC and no resolution will ever come from it. Use the Facebook normal android app (which admittedly kinda sucks) and friendstream also won't be able to use facebook as a result.
my friend stream widget works fine. i even view pics with it with no problem
I am using T Mobiles standard email app on my Sensation with a POP account. The phone is unlocked by T Mobile but never been rooted and is stock with all T Mobile updates.
I can download my emails no problem and as far as I`m aware it leaves them on the server. There are some I like to keep indefinately on the phone, for example, travel insurance details or weekend away vouchers. For some reason after a period of time, say about 3 or 4 days, these emails have vanished and are not in the deleted items folder. Where have they gone. Is there a setting somewhere that will let me keep them. I`ve searched all over the phone and I can`t find one. I`ve also searched the forum and can`t find this specific problem.
Hi there. Why don't you use the straight gmail application from the play store? I can promise nothing gets deleted. My guess is T-Mobile has a time limit or
Something to keep the emails and they delete them after. I also am T-Mobile user but I've always used gmail instead. I never lose an email. In fact some important emails I've kept for over a year now. Just download the app from the play store, set up the account, and you will have a more reliable email. Just don't use the email icon, use the gmail. Somehow it's different. It keeps all the emails until you delete them. Hope this helps. I've always used gmail and never ever had a problem like that. Best wishes to you.

Thanks for that I`ll give it a go, although I have a Gmail account but don`t use it very much. Can I add my POP accounts to the Gmail app so they all open in Gmail, if you know what I mean
****EDIT**** Managed to sort it by going to the Gmail settings on my PC and then lo and behold it was all synced to my phone, sorted
Hi everyone,
I just got a brand new Nexus 5 a week or so ago coming from a very old Nexus S. Needless to say, the Nexus 5 was already on the latest 4.4.3 android. After some time using it, I noticed that my email notifications from the stock email app are delayed, sometimes by several minutes. It doesn't matter if I'm on mobile or WiFi, but it seems even worst on WiFi. My Nexus S was working flawlessly just a 2 weeks ago...
So my question is this : Is anyone using the stock email app with exchange servers (like hotmail) and getting instant push notifications? Did you have to modify any settings to get it to work?
Out of curiousity, I tried installing the old email and exchange app form my Nexus S and guess what, it is working fine. I get notifications within seconds with the exact same settings. So it seems to be a software problem with the new email app rather than a hardware issue on the phone. It kinda suck to get a brand new phone and having to rely on super old software (android 4.1.2) to get it to work...
I use the stock email app for Yahoo and my Work. I dont know if exchange is different. But I have only seen options to sync email in intervals. Like every 5/10/15/etc. minutes. I've never known it to sync right away on receiving an email like Gmail or something.
I use an app called cloud magic its great. Supports nearly all major email providers.

Pretty sure the stock Email app works via sync rather than push notifications i.e. syncs every 5/10/15/whatever minutes and notifies you of anything new, not instant notifications pushed directly to your device.

Thank you for your answer. Just to explain a little better : The stock email app supports 3 protocols for email. POP, IMAP and Exchange. The first 2 don't support Push, so your phone has to sync with the server at a determined period like 5/10/15 minutes.
The Exchange protocol, like Hotmail or Outlook, supports push notifications. So, when I set my hotmail and outlook accounts, I always do it through Exchange. It was working perfectly under android 4.1.2, but now for some reason it doesn't on 4.4.3. The notifications are pushed after a variable delay that can go up to 30 minutes or more.
I'm just wondering if anyone managed to get it working before I spend too much time trying to fix it.

I'm not exactly sure, I use the Gmail app so I can't really answer your question beyond that. Might possibly be some changes that were done to Android.

Well, the Gmail app syncs just fine, but I also have a hotmail account that I can't add through gmail.
Nobody can tell me if they have it working? I can't believe I'm the only one here with a hotmail address that is using the stock app?
I'm not asking for a fix, I just want to know if it is possible to make it work and what setup you're using if it is.
Anyone?
I have hotmail but also have gmail so I use cloud magic I will play around with the stock app and my hotmail acc

First off, thanks for taking the time to help!
I haven't tested the outlook app a lot as I can't stand it, but it seemed to push instantly. I'm sorry if I made you notice that your app were not syncing very fast... But at the same time I'm happy to see there is nothing wrong with my phone.
The stock app doesn't have auto fit so yeah you have to adjust the zoom, but I never had any real issue with that...
Anyway, if you find a way to have it sync faster let me know.
The email app was just updated and now is on the GP Store. Maybe they've fixed this, have you tried?

I did and it's not. But there's hope as they will be able to update it more often. I might even report it!
Thanks for the tip!
same here, my iphone is 1-10 mins faster. android push mail sucks
Yep I know. Push works just fine when the screen is on, but for some reason there seems to be a process that's preventing push notifications to be received instantly when screen is off to save power...
Push are also instantly received while charging, which is why I assume there is an option to save power somewhere...

You're not alone and your approach is the correct one.
I had this problem since the 4.4 upgrade and I've been using both Email.apk and Exchange.apk from the 4.3 AOSP source (it's obviously much easier to download a 4.3 omnirom (or cyanogenmod if you still trust them) and pull the files from there.
All upgrades are broken, 4.4.2, 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 all have hideous delays with Exchange email. They do bring some extra functionality that 4.3 doesn't have but getting real push email is more important for me.
This issue has been reported by quite a few people but others aren't experiencing it so it's unknown what's causing it. I haven't tried the Exchange.apk from 4.3 and Email.apk from 4.4.4 so that might as well work (so you get the functionality of the email client and stability of the 4.3 exchange.apk)
Go for the 4.3 apk files for Email.apk and Exchange.apk and it will be OK.

Thanks. I figured as much, but for now I'm using the 4.1.2 AOSP ones. There's probably not much of a difference with the 4.3 apps anyway.
What's weird is that it's working for some people, which leads me to believe that there is something I'm missing, an option maybe that's not obviously related to push, like using Bluetooth or whatever.
Or maybe people claiming it's working fine just don't notice the delay. It took me quite some time to notice it since it rarely makes a difference whether I get my mail instantly or 5 minutes late. What's more of a problem is when it gets through 20 or so minutes late.

I think so, yes.
I have exactly the same behaviour, sometimes the email arrives instantly, otherwise it's delayed for minutes, sometimes up to 20-30.
Another interesting thing I noticed, if I get an email on my computer and the phone doesn't beep, I waited for a few minutes and then, a few seconds after turning the screen on, the email would arrive.
Looks like the phone was in deep sleep and wasn't waking up when the email was being pushed. Great for battery life but bad if you want real-time push email.
Something definitely broke on 4.4 as previously everything worked fine. Thankfully we can still use 4.3 apks, otherwise there would be big trouble.
Hello all,
I am finding the stock email app on my Mate 7 to massively let down a great phone.
The issues are:
- there doesn't seem to be a way to easily manually check for mail. On other stock apps I have used, you just drag down or similar to check the server,
-The email app seems to stop checking for emails half way through the day. The only way to fix it seems to be to reset the phone, and then all the messages come flooding in.
Is there a fix for these issues? Alternatively, is the a basic email app that works well, is free and has no apps?
Thanks!
Use gmail app instead
Try to reply to an email and "Mail has stopped working"
Uninstall Chrome updates and you can magically reply again
Based on my mere seconds of Googling it appears a bug have been reintroduced with Android System Webview (which is now integrated into Chrome and is no longer a standalone app)
Great work Google you f***in retards
Go to Playstore. Uninstall both Gmail and Chrome browser. Reinstall both again. I hope this works.
Sigh...

Reported to HTC.
Now wait and see what happens
I've hit the same issue. Funny how it works, just when I'm traveling overseas and really need it more than usual. I'm trying to fix but not certain how to uninstall the Chrome update. Info I have basically seems to need to back out all upgrades.
Can we assume they will put out a fix for this?
Thanks for the info greatly received as my HTC U11 just packed up on emails. Did as you advised and back up and running, why do they mess with something that was working and never test it properly before releasing updates?
I have the same problem. I uninstalled Chrome updates and now HTC mail works again. However now Amazon Shopping and Underground doesn't work, requires update to System Webview which is now embedded in Chrome. So how can I revert Chrome to its previous update, since removing updates reverts it to HTC stock version?
HTC mail working well here, and Gmail too.
I don't have problems with Google Chrome! Is working well! Anyway, i don't use Chrome,. I'm using Samsung Internet Browser app with Adblock Plus for Samsung Internet Browse Safe on my HTC U11, because it's much, much faster than Chrome! My second browser is Firefox with sync Windows 10 bookmarks.
I had the same problem the other day on my u11 removed the latest chrome update. Worked fine for a day now I can't send and email or reply
I ran into the same issue. I uninstalled the Chrome update and am able to use the stock email app.
HTC reported it back to Google.
And Google likely will fix it in the next Chrome update
Android mail crashes with March 2018 Chrome release
After a week or two of not being able to reply or forward I uninstalled Chrome updates and low an behold mail worked.
Next day it stopped again so I disabled automatic updates and re-uninstalled Chrome updates and yes mail worked again.
Shame I cannot figure out what chrome version this is or even release date.
Looks like it is broken again? Cannot forward or reply to emails, but composing fresh to the same address results in a successful send. Otherwise it just errors out and says "unable to send messages"
Seriously FCUK HTC I am so tired of their bullish
HTC Official Support Position......... wait for patch and use another email client in the meantime................ FCUK this company!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's seems to work fine here.
What Chrome and HTC Mail version do you have? I have 66.0.3359.126 and 10.70.1031252.

Yes these are the versions I have as well. Noticed Android Webview is still at 61.x.x.x with Chrome installed, discovered I can disable chrome and enter the Beta program to get to Webview 66.x.x.x and the problem still exists. Replied and forwarded emails fail immediately, and will not send, but composing a new email works fine. Also tried setting up the gmail app to send/receive my POP3 emails and it had the exact same problem.... Sent and replied emails showed Failed when attempting to send

There is a HTC Mail 10.70.1035099 now. Might be worth testing.
This problem was fixed with the HTC Mail update
