HELP bricked att lg g2 - AT&T LG G2

I have the ATT model g2. it was running android 4.2.2 and i rooted. i got an OTA notification yesterday so i unrooted it, and uninstalled busybox. and went ahead with the update. now, my phone does not turn on. you go to turn it on and the lg logo flashes for a second or two, then a black screen, if you look closely you can tell that the screen panel is still lit, but nothing shows up. It will not boot to download mode, and it does boot to the (stock lg, not custom) recovery, but when i hit the power button to do the hard reset, i get the black screen again, and no boot. when i connect it to my computer, it gives me a bunch of popups saying that i need to reformat a drive before i can use it, somewhere around 15-20 of them? ive run out of ideas to fix it. any and all help is appreciated. :crying::crying::crying::crying: would really like my g2 back, im back to my old phone which was a nexus 5 that has a terribly cracked screen, and i really like to get the g2 back rather than having to pay to get my screen replaced.

No it was stock recovery. I tried installing recover with the twrp app but it didn't work so it was a stock LG recovery.

did you try to factory reset in stock recovery along with wiping the usual, cache and dalvik?

Tried using the stop recovery factory reset, that's all lg's recovery can do. It says factory reset processing like normal but then the screen goes black again. LG stock recovery can't wipe the cache and dalvik afaik

Did you remove the battery while the phone was performing the factory reset? If yes, that is a big NO NO! You can brick some Android devices (Samsungs especially) by doing that. Turn the phone on again by holding the down button and allow it to complete the factory reset procedure.
If it still won't boot then you need to flash Clockworkmod Recovery and then use that to perform a proper factory reset.
If that doesn't work you are going to need to flash a nandroid backup of the stock rom to get it all back to square one. After you are done if you want stock recovery you can use the One Click flasher to restore the stock recovery.
Don't take the battery out in a situation like that.

[Q] Bricked Phone, and T-Mobile Replacement policy

I was running CM 10 and tried to flash the stock ROM. I flashed it fine (no errors in CWM, I also did clear the cache, dalvik, wiped system) after that I pressed reboot and nothing happened no Samsung just a black screen. I waited for around 10 minutes and then finally took out the battery. After that the phone wouldn't boot, recovery or download wouldn't work either. I tried everything I could and figured it's hard bricked. So if you have any suggestions on this they will be greatly appreciated. I still have my T-Mobile warranty, and the question I have is would they accept a phone that is rooted, but won't even boot so basically there is no way of finding out if it's rooted or not?

First error was you wiped system before reboot so there was nothing there to boot into... Leave the battery out for a bit then insert and boot into recovery.. reflash rom and this time only wipe cache and dalvik not system.. reboot.. Also how charged was the battery? maybe it is almost dead and needs charging!

Wait... you wiped system after flashing stock...? That wiped the stock rom That's why nothing booted after the reboot.
I don't know why you can't get into download mode... When you plug in a usb when the battery is out does the phone vibrate? If not, try another usb cable. If that fails then you do have a hardware issue. If the phone vibrates hold vol + and vol - and power and reinsert battery-you should get download mode.
AFAIK, they (T-Mo) put the phone in download mode and check the flash counter. If it says anything other than "no" they will not accept it. Any odin flash adds to the flash counter.

As said before it's a brick, no screen, no vibration nothing. And I don't think T-Mo can even get to the phone unless they jtag it or something, which they will most likely not do as it will cause discomfort and timeloss to the customers (ME)

Well I doubt they can do that at the store (I don't have any confidence in the salespeople's tech ability there lol), so if you are under warranty just tell them that when you unplugged it this morning it was like that
If it doesn't vibrate when plugged in and no battery installed then it sounds like a hard brick.
I think they do the manufacturer warranty as an exchange on the spot, so even if they do figure it out eventually you should be good.
But it would suck if they can get it into download mode at the store... better try numerous usb ports (even switch computers to be sure!) and cables to be sure Also wouldn't hurt to leave the battery out overnight and try again. If they get it in download mode... well two things. One they won't ever honor any warranty on the phone anymore (and they will give the phone back to you), but two... if they can get it in download mode have them leave it like that and rush back home - and then you're back in business
Kind of a win-win...

I got a replacement going from T-Mobile, they just sent out the new phone today, but I'm confused do I send them my broken one right now? or wait till the new one comes?
They should have explained everything on the phone, they will send you a box to return it in . And if they find out that it has been rooted and modded , you could be charged the full price for the phone. Every time I sent the phone back I've always read it back to stock if yours was bricked hopefully they won't notice

So I was playing around trying to get Sound MOD to work(dont ask me y..I was bored) And I have bricked my phone. I am stuck on the white HTC screen the one at the begining of the boot..the one that says this build is for development purposes..blah blah. and it is just stuck there. Adb wont find device or nothing..I am truly screwed..yes?
Well, ADB wouldn't be able to do anything at that point anyway. It's not fully booted, or in the bootloader.
Have you tried powering it off, and booting to the bootloader? From there recovery, do a factory reset, and see if it boots then?

So you've tried doing a factory reset, and afterwards it still just gets stuck during boot? And do you mean it boots back to the HTC boot screen after restoring an image and rebooting, or you select "Restore image" (or whatever) and it instantly reboots and gets stuck?

Ok so update: I was SOMEHOW able to get into recovery(TWRP) but no matter what i try to do it just reboots back into recovery..any ideas?
EDIT: gonna try verizon RUU. Fingers crossed
Just a thought here. TWRP can install from USB. I have flashed from a thumbdrive in the past on an S3. You may be able to do same. I know this is a shot in the dark but may help.
Will it just sit at the recovery screen or does it boot before you touch anything? If it will sit at the TWRP main screen you should be able to boot into hboot via adb and try a reflash of twrp or CWM. Your recovery may be corrupt.
You're definitely not bricked. You're catching breaks left and right.

Would a moderator kindly close this thread as I have fixed my problem. Thank you!
After toying around with it for HOURS! Somehow I was able to get it to boot into hboot. Which from there was ablt to fastboot an RUU and profit! Funny thing is I had already made a claim with the Big Red V. Called them back to say that I had found my phone...too late claim already in..lol. Now I have a brand new phone on its way and a mini-tab and dev device I guess..lol

Nexus 5 Stuck at Google Loading Screen (Picture attached)

Hi.
This phone was working perfectly and I left it to go away to another country so it must have discharged it's battery.
When I got back it would not turn on. Even after charging for a day, it will not turn on.
When I have the charging cable connected, it goes to Google Logo Screen and it loops (restarts over and over again)
There is no error message.
Picture is attached so please let me know what to do. It was a gift so no receipt to claim warranty.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Try booting into stock recovery and clearing cache, reboot.
If that doesn't work then you'll have to unlock the bootloader (which wipes data) and try flashing the factory images. A guide for that can be found in the first link of my signature.

I just tested and I am not able to get into recovery more...I am not sure what that mean. Should I connect Nexus to computer and see if it's recognized by computer and try to reload stock ROM?
Phone was never unlocked or flashed...it was in the same state as it was bought.
Can this be hardware problem? I saw some reports of similar thing happening with power button problem or other hardware problems.

did you go into the bootloader, choose recovery, and it went to an android laying on its back?
This is the weirdest things...Spent days and days trying to bring it back to life and it would just reboot after GOOGLE logo. There was no way to get into recovery more.
I was looking around and someone said that tapping hard behind the power button with finger might bring it back and it did...so crazy. No matter what, I am a happy camper.
If you have tried everything, just try it...it behind power button and it might wake up the android that's been sleeping.

I have the option to buy this device from a guy who has this problem and i have said to him to try the tips but not working. Computer does not see the device yet and thats logic since it just goes for 2-3 sec in bootloader he told me. Is this the power buttion failure or can it be fixed with nexus toolkit?
Price is €50 because of that and little damaged glass but i doubt if i can let it boot normal again.

Okay XDA, I need your help getting my phone running. (Black screen problem)

Okay so I bought this S6, 2 days ago from a guy really cheap. I have some experience with Samsung devices so I thought I could fix it piece of cake turns out I can't. So I got twrp, and download mode working and I can transfer files to the phone while in twrp no problem. Download mode works fine too. The problem I have is that whatever I do the phone shows the "Samsung Galaxy S6, powered by android" logo and then the screen turns black. The little led light keeps shining blue light and the phone even vibrates sometimes.
At first I though that I could just flash stock 6.0.1 rom though odin and I did that. Same problem black screen (I got the firmware from sammobile). After that I tried the tyrannus rom and I followed his instruction and same problem again. At last I tried XtreStoLite and same problem. A guy in another thread told me that I need to reflash a kernel so I tried the SpaceX MM Kernel and still the same problem.
Oh almost forgot the device is the SM-G920F.
Any thoughts?
So you have TWRP, format all data.
Download the modem and bootloader for MM and flash with odin in download mode.

I've done exactly that and now I tried it again. So after everything is flashed I get the "Samsung Galaxy S6, powered by android" and then a blue droid logo that said "Installing system update" and something about erasing data, then it went back to "Samsung Galaxy S6, powered by android" and then black screen with a blue/cyan light. How long should I wait on that screen? I waited about 10 minutes and then I got a vibration from the phone but still black with the light. The samsung boot animation should come up if it's working right?

Should that matter? The guy I bought the phone from said that it was unlocked and I've tried to flash the Nordic firmware from Sammobile. So after flashing the Sweden(VDS) it went back to the black screen, so I did a battery pull vol down + power and then I tried to start it again. Now it got to 2 cog wheels spinning and saying Android is starting optimizing app x out of 32. Then it went to Android is starting and starting apps. I waited there for 10 minutes and I got a vibration and then nothing, the cog wheels only kept spinning. Seems like it got stuck there. So I did the battery pull again, black screen then I tried to do a factory reset in the stock recovery and nothing change. Now I'm getting the black screen again.
This is so weird :crying:
OK! Try to flash it again and when you see optimizing turn the phone off. Then make a factory reset and boot up to see what is going to do.

Okay, so I flashed the Sweden(VDS) and then when it booted it ended up with black screen, and then I did the battery pull and I got back to the android is starting screen with the cog wheel. Then I turned the phone off and and did a factory reset with samsungs recovery. Then when I started it I ended up with black screen again so I did a battery pull once again and started it. Then I got to the Android is starting screen with the cog wheels again, it changed the language to swedish though. Then it started optimizing apps xx of 34 and now its stuck at Android is starting starting apps. Do you think this might be a hardware problem? I'm have no clue what to do anymore.
Right now I'm downloading the Sweden(Tre) stock rom from sammobile, will report back later of if there's some changes.
If it is a hardware problem I can't think of what could it be. Anyways, waiting on the report. Hope this will work!
@Nedrozak Okay after a break I continued to try, the Sweden(Tre) firmware won't flash in odin. I've also tried to flash the phone in Kies and Smart Switch PC. Both programs ended up the same as before with the black screen with the blue led light. I couldn't even get it to the optimizing screen. I've also tried 5.1.1 and I can get it to the optimizing apps screen too, 5.0.2 can't be flashed.
I also found out using Kies and Smart Switch PC that the original firmware the phone used to have is the NEE firmware (Nordic Countries). Tomorrow I might go and ask some tech shop to estimate a repair cost, I might be able to get a new motherboard too for free we'll see what happens. I'm like out of options anyway seems like no one else on this forum seems to have the same problem so maybe it's the hardware that's faulty.
The last thing I might try is a custom rom like cyanogenmod, that I can try to flash otherwise I'm out of ideas, and energy too :silly:
Maybe leave it on cogwheels Android is starting and Starting apps during night? Then I'm afraid that the screen will burn and the screen in almost new and worth a bit of money.

Yes, it will be very bad to leave it on. Maybe going to the tech shop is the best option even if you can't get free motherboard.
