Did you remove the battery while the phone was performing the factory reset? If yes, that is a big NO NO! You can brick some Android devices (Samsungs especially) by doing that. Turn the phone on again by holding the down button and allow it to complete the factory reset procedure.
If it still won't boot then you need to flash Clockworkmod Recovery and then use that to perform a proper factory reset.
If that doesn't work you are going to need to flash a nandroid backup of the stock rom to get it all back to square one. After you are done if you want stock recovery you can use the One Click flasher to restore the stock recovery.

Don't take the battery out in a situation like that.

I think I bricked my G2X

I finally got a hold of a G2X for T-Mobile and decided to root it. I installed Cyanogen Mod V7 and was happy with some of the tweaks but not fully satisfied. So I tried to revert back to the stock operating system. I had made a backup not a nandback up in ClockWorkMod from the stock firmware when I first rooted the phone, and I decided to go back and restore from that back up. Everything was going good up until the LG boot logo. Where it never ventured past the screen it just got stuck. I waited for 15 minutes with nothing happening .Now im stuck in an infinite loop!
I tried pressing the power + the volume- button but it still continues with the loop. Also the computer reads the USB but when I try to access the contents it says error. Im scared I bricked the phone . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

doubtful.....
After the LG logo stopped I then took out the battery and read in some forums that holding the volume and power button would restore it but unfortunately it didnt. Im on the process of doing nvflash but it asks me to hold down the volume buttons and its doesnt go beyond that.

I'm not the best at this stuff but I think you needed to put nvflash on before you did any of this.
I got the clockwork recovery working. So im happy now should I just go to the stock firmware or should I just tinker again with the cyanogen mod?
If you have clockwork recovery through nvflash you are safe. At this point flashing stocking or cm7 is really up to you.

[Q] Help Help Phone keeps getting in clockwork recovery mode

HI ALL,
i have unrooted my phone and then i,ve updated my phone but i forgot to remove clockworkmodrecovery now when i reboot my phone it keeps getting in recovery mode
Is there anyone who can help me?
I have the exact same problem!
I've tried restoring a backup, rebooting the phone, turning it off, install update from sdcard, formatting cache...
None to any avail. Please help!
I've tried about every option now, I've even tried downloading a ROM and flashing it to the phone. It still boots into Clockworkmod.
Can I throw my phone in the trash now?
Edit:
I don't have windows XP, so nope to unbricking your O3D guide.
Sdcard
I can only put the rom at my external sdcard i don know how to put someting in the internal flash
I've now tried flashing KingDroid.
It's still in the bootloop.
Why does it seem like no one even cares about this thread?

People care but if they don't have an answer for you it's not much they can do, tried pulling the battery I guess and using CWM to reset battery data and reseting to factory defaults etc?
People arent answering because there is already a guide on the forum explaining exactly how to fix this.

I have tried about every single option in the CWM menus, and I've tried pulling the battery at random times.
None of them worked.
I'm now going to remove Arch Linux from my PC to make room for windows XP. Sorry for my previous outrage.
Next time remove CWM from your phone before updating...
I just installed windows XP and followed the guide to the letter. I am now stuck with the firmware update screen. How do I get rid of this?
Flash rom
I,ve managed to flash the rom with the original v10D but itÅ› still booting in clockwork recovery mode pfffff
These phones really are hard to unbrick.
Tell me please how to exit Rekaveri. Reloading and pulling the battery does not helps, it means everything? brick?

If you're stuck at the "updating firmware" screen like me, you're simply ****ed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1197108
use LG vip service.
I just called them, they said they'd "assess" my situation and that they'd call me back to tell me whether they'll replace it...
restore
Hi,
I have managed to restore a backup image but he is still booting in clockwork recovery what am i forgetting ????
Sincerely Snellie1972
Recover
I have recovered the phone with clockwork recovery with stock file
Optimus 3D 10D pre-rooted CWM restore but still it goes in too clockwork recovery at boot
What am i doing wrong ????
Thanks in advance
snellie1972
Unfortunately I was also able to get passed the clockwork screen but the phone is stuck on the update just like anybody else. I contacted the store where I bought it from and they sent me a prepaid box already to send it to them for repair/replacement.
As everyone says, at the moment it's not possible to recover from that state, sorry snellie.
If you still get the clockwork, then just follow these instructions but even so, you wont get passed the software update screen.
Flash
I have managed to flash using first de KDZ tool from LG en after that i have used te LGMOBILE update tool and just put in my imei and serial and it was downloading and restoring my phone so far so good but when it was Finished without any error it is still haging on update software ...
I don't understand why it is not going any further
Greetz
snellie1972
It's almost as if this firmware update screen is fake and an indicator for LG to see you ****ed your phone up.
Is there any known hacker even working on this?

[Q] Having issues trying to get back to stock

Ive been using the thread to Odin back to stock as im getting a replacement phone in a few days. Followed everything correctly, but Ive been getting a boot loop between the green android guy and the white Samsung startup logos. Redid the process in odin and now im getting "firmware upgrade encountered an issue, please select recovery mode in Kies and try again" when I go to download mode. i know I have a saved Nandroid backup on my SDcard, I just cant get to it. I also have mini Kies installed on my computer if there is a way to fix it thru that. I cant figure out how to get into recovery mode either. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated! Im just trying to get my phone working until my replacement is here.
I did Odin again, but now im stuck in a boot loop between the greenm android guy and the white samsung startup screens.

That's because you had to factory reset and erase all data before flashing to stock. I had the same issue when flashing from dk4 to stock to lf4

If helped don't be afraid to hit the thanks button it doesn't bite lol
So how do I get my phone working again? Its stuck in a bootloop after following the directions for Odin back to stock thread

This issue only occured when you uncheck Auto reboot in Odin. Try Odin again with Auto reboot checked
If you getting an boot loop, do exactly what I've done in Odin thread
If you get a boot loop All you do is boot in stock recovery and wipe data

Can't go to stock recovery in this case. This issue only occoured when Odin to stock ROM after using/flashing custom ROM that you forgot to format system or clean data. I've run into this problem before
It looks like after all this, Titanium Backup's backup was erased. I do have a Nandroid saved on my SDcard. Is there a way to pull everything from that? When I go to CWM and try to do a Nandroid, it says there isnt anything there. But When I connect to my computer, I can see the saved backup. I have been able to pull a few backed up apps off the Nandroid backup, but only certain ones or it says batch restore failed. Im wonder how it can see the Nandroids, but CWM cant? They're saved on my SDcard.
Is there another way Titanium Backup saves backups that I could possibly get to them? Im really trying to figure this out before my replacement phone gets here in a few days. I did backup everything, Im just having a difficult time restoring after the numerous problems Ive had thanks to Tmobile's "troubleshooting"
What are you currently running? If you are back to stock titanium won't function correctly as you have to be rooted. But since you mentioned cwm I wasn't sure.

Im just on stock but I am rooted. I just dont know where all my backups went after the bootloop and issues with reverting to stock after Tmobilr screwed up my phone trying to figure out why I kept getting "Call Ended" when trying to dial out.
Where is your nandroid backup currently located?
Sent from my SGH-T769 using Tapatalk 2
On my external SDcard/clockwork mod/backup/ whatever the date was.
Seems normal. Not sure why it wouldn't be visible. Sorry I can't be more help.
Sent from my SGH-T769 using Tapatalk 2
In recovery they are visible, but when I go to flash one it says no files found..
I was also stuck in a boot loop after attempting to get my phone back to stock since I got a replacement phone. Followed all of the instructions, but realized although I did a factory reset, I forgot to wipe data. So I simply got CWM through Odin....got into recovery wiped data....rebooted and voila! I'm back to stock no root. It took all of 1 minute to do. Maybe that will work for you too

Thank you for your quick response.I am able to get to recovery mode.and wipe data and factory reset.I got cm10 1117 nightly on my SD card and I install that and my phone is back.then I install jelly bean Google app.I will never try to go back to stock ROM again. this ROM is cm10 1117 nightly is better than stable cm10 for me.I thank all the devs who worked together to bring this your effort is much appreciated.
This is how I get to recovery mode on my Samsung galaxy s blaze.
1.press the vol up + vol down + power button at the same time.
2.as soon as the Samsung logo light up I release power + vol down button but not releasing releasing vol up button but rather press it harder..and there it comes....may be someone might be having the difficulty I had before
Give it a try...

HELP bricked att lg g2

I have the ATT model g2. it was running android 4.2.2 and i rooted. i got an OTA notification yesterday so i unrooted it, and uninstalled busybox. and went ahead with the update. now, my phone does not turn on. you go to turn it on and the lg logo flashes for a second or two, then a black screen, if you look closely you can tell that the screen panel is still lit, but nothing shows up. It will not boot to download mode, and it does boot to the (stock lg, not custom) recovery, but when i hit the power button to do the hard reset, i get the black screen again, and no boot. when i connect it to my computer, it gives me a bunch of popups saying that i need to reformat a drive before i can use it, somewhere around 15-20 of them? ive run out of ideas to fix it. any and all help is appreciated. :crying::crying::crying::crying: would really like my g2 back, im back to my old phone which was a nexus 5 that has a terribly cracked screen, and i really like to get the g2 back rather than having to pay to get my screen replaced.

No it was stock recovery. I tried installing recover with the twrp app but it didn't work so it was a stock LG recovery.

did you try to factory reset in stock recovery along with wiping the usual, cache and dalvik?
Tried using the stop recovery factory reset, that's all lg's recovery can do. It says factory reset processing like normal but then the screen goes black again. LG stock recovery can't wipe the cache and dalvik afaik
