[Q] How can I fix camera and sim card problems with HTC M8 Verizon - Verizon HTC One (M8)

I dropped my Htc One M8 by accident, it wasnt a big fall (actually, it was too simple ), but still the phone screen wont stop blinkin, it does not recognize the sim card and the camera is not working.
The screen is like crazy, blinking and with a bunch of colors and black out as well.
I tested removing the sim card and the micro SD, but still no luck.
The only way I can stop the screen from blinking is turning the airplane mode on. Which is very strange. I don't know what is that the airplane mode is turning off that is keeping the screen from blinking and bringing it back to normal.
I updated the phone to lolipop, but that didn't solved the issue. I also did a repair provided by verizon with the same results.
The only thing I havent tried is a factory reset, but I wanted to see if there are any other options before I proceed.
The phone is not rooted, by the way.
I would like to hear your suggestions, thanks.

HTC Touch Pro 2 Dead!!! Please Help!

I have a Sprint TP2 which I have SIM, Security, and CID Unlocked (using Olipro's wonderful unlocker). I also have Sprint's GSM radio flashed. The phone has worked perfectly with my T-Mobile SIM card for the past 4 months, but suddenly it decided to break! Just last week, suddenly the phone was stuck on the HTC loading screen but luckily performing a hard reset fixed it. However today, the phone wouldn't turn on at all. I tried hard resetting again, but the phone showed no response (the screen was completely dark). I also tried a soft reset, but the phone was completely unresponsive. I can't even get it to display the bootloader screen! No matter what I do, the phone remains on a black screen. When I plug it into the computer, the orange light turns on but no matter what buttons I press (hard reset, soft reset, etc) the phone's screen remains black. I have gotten a brand new battery and put it in the phone, but this does nothing.
I've noticed that the phone emits a faint buzzing sound when the battery is inserted.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?
dude im think you are fcked, try charge the battery first. and see if the light comes greens thats mean that the phone at least have something working. after that try to get it on the boot menu to do a usb rom update, if you have some skills open the phone and clean it inside and de ram memory (next to the mini sd) any way wait for the gurus of the forum to have a better info about what to do and good luck

guess/shot in the dark: if you plug it into the PC it doesn't try to load some new USB drivers by any chance, does it?
As last chance
Try CMonex thing first, then if phone is out of warranty and definetly seems to be dead as last chance i would try to dismount motherboard and remove all the shielding covers to expose electronics. Take care to ground yourself to protect board from electrostatic discharge.
First inspect it with a glass lens to see if there's some kind of phisical damage or if all seems to be okay.
Then thoroughly heat it up with a hairdryer (set at max heat and max speed, very close to the mobo) paying attention not to blow any plastic or flex cables. The goal is to eventually restore fake solderings that may have occurred due to age or shocks. You have to be very patient and careful to heat it very well but not too much: there's no need to see tin melt, this in fact would be dangerous, just till it turns a bit shiny, some experience and understanding of electronics helps.
I tried this method a couple of times with dead phones and sometimes worked.
Hope you can work it out.

[Q] HTC Surround Stuck at white screen

Well my HTC surround is stuck on the white HTC boot screen and will not go past. I've tried hard resetting it as well as swapped the memory card 3 times all broken after inserting them. Anything I can do to fix this?!
this method for replacing the card
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BiZzfdWDR4
If so, the phone needs hard resetted after inserting the new memory as the memory becomes part of the phone and it needs to format it.
Or do you mean sim card?
I only ever had an issue once with my surround not booting and getting stuch at same screen. Ended up the sim card wasn't getting good contact with phone. Took out the sim, wiped it off, put it back and it worked. Also if there is a sim card issue, i think Att will swap it for you.
have you tried to reflash the stock rom?
I have this problem too
Anybody help me????
if you hold volume down while turning on the device do you get the multi colored screen can you post the results here please?

battery voltage low

Hi:
I have a HTC sensation 4G. I really like the phone. However, about 3-4 months ago, my phone suddenly switched off. When I restarted my phone, it got stuck on the HTC logo and wouldn't go further and switch off. It would start again, show the white screen with the HTC logo and switch on again. It wouldn't go any further and kept doing so in a loop. I thought there could be 2 possible reasons for the same: 1.) software issue or 2.) Hardware issue. I was pretty sure it was not a software issue as I had not made any changes in the software. I took it to a HTC repair center. The repair charges they were asking were freakingly high (300$!!). I didn't get it repaired from them. However, they gave me the exact reason of the problem. They said that it was a hardware issue and often happens with the phones when battery of the phone is removed while the phone is running. If this is done multiple times, such an issue can arise. I had done it multiple times before the phone had stopped working. I then got the phone repaired from another shop paying a third of the price. He didn't give any guarantee if the phone works. But the phone started working after the repair.
Very recently though, I was using my camera and as soon as the flash came on, the flash light got stuck. The phone was, however, working. But I couldn't get the flash to switch off. So I thought of restarting my phone. The phone switched off and when it turned on, it had the same problem. It is stuck in a loop on the HTC logo screen. I think this could be a software problem. What can i do to repair it?
Another thing I want to mention is that I am unable to go even in the recovery. When I try to go in to the recovery, it switches off and shows the HTC screen again. On one occasion when I tried to go into recovery from the boot screen, it showed a message that the battery voltage is low, please change the battery immediately. So i thought it is a battery problem and I looked up on the internet to find a solution. Somewhere I read that sometimes the gold plated contact points on the battery get scratched and corrosion happens. One solution was to clean the corrosion and try again. I did but didn't work. Also, when I try to charge the phone (because the battery voltage is low), even if the phone is switched off, its starts up again automatically without pressing the power button. Then it keeps going in the loop.
I don't know what the problem exactly is. Do i need to change the battery? I am running official HTC ICS ROM. Please help me with a solution.
It will be of great help. Thank you!!

Idol 3 won't turn on!!

Hey, I have an unrooted and stock idol 3 that I was just playing a game on when suddenly the screen turned bright blue and then off. I tried to turn it on and it showed the Alcatel screen and then went blue again and this time turned off for good. I tried to go in to the recovery but that doesn't work either. I held down the power and volume for lots of time and in many different combinations also to no avail. The only thing the phone does is that the notification light turns on when the charger or usb to the computer is plugged in. Has anyone come across something like this and has any ideas how I can fix it? Any and all help will be appreciated, thank you.
Same here. Yesterday I was opening the camera app and the screen went blue. I've press the power and up button but the phone doesn't turn on.
What can I do?
I called Alcatel's customer service and they told me to send it in, luckily I didn't root my phone or anything, that's what I'm going to do. If you need to call them, the phone number is 855-368-0829
wow, that totally sucks. G/l with the repair/fix.
it looks it died simply. Can happen, nobody is perfect. Hope you get lucky with replacement.
@Cheeseball14 same thing happened to me. how did you proceed after calling the costumer service number? Were you asked to ship in the phone?
same issue as your post and others , i did call the alcatel warranty number , sent it to the Texas repair center , got my phone back , and still the same issues for the phone turned on and off , then screen turned blue , and didn't want to turn back on , then i called again, sent it again , they send me a pre paid shipping la label , hoping this time they will fix the problem, the web calls this blue screen of death

I took mine back to seller (Bell). There they reset it to particular factory settings. Need to be careful otherwise to not erase the full system. Just a factory reset by Bell or your supplier.
Did your phone turn on? How could bell reset if it doesn't turn on like op's phone?

One plus is a fraud company its hardware gives up after 1 year,,,this is bul****
Hey dude
Well strange i would contact oneplus about this should be under warranty there's no point in asking on the xda if you haven't even unlocked bootloader and clearly you aren't a user that like to fiddle with things
Cheers hope oneplus support will help you
Mine op6 works fine have it till launch no issues so i guess its stupid to call company a fraud, there's always chance that the smartphone or any electronic device will fail overtime that why you have warranty
I have posted my query here because few years back when i was using HTC ,i faced an issue and when the service centre gave up and returned my phone unfixed, one senior member from xda helped me to revive my phone and certainly that guy made my day for which i shall be forever thankful to xda forum
P.S : I am Sorry if i have hurt you in any way , i am just fed up not able to find any solution yet
I am just here trying my luck and hoping to find another life saver, Cheers ?
I've got the exact same problem. Op folks told me it's a hardware issue and they might have to replace the motherboard. But I really don't trust them
Its pretty much a hardware problem. I had the exact same problem with my OnePlus 3. I went to the official OnePlus service centre and they told me the same (to get the motherboard changed). I don't think it's worth to change the either motherboard.
I got the network IC repaired for half the price from some local mobile repair shop. See if you can do the same.
I have OP 6T and this issue started right after one of the updates, as the phone asked to reboot after an update. So, right after that update phone took 10-15 minutes to boot. Couple of days ago the was another Google Security Fix update, and that killed everything. No SIM cards, no wifi hardware... I tried fresh install, which stucks at - Wiping, Please wait. I tried to unbrick it, and I was able to reinstall official android, but still not wifi or mobile networking. they are just gone. - Does not like a hardware issue to me...
Turn off phone, remove SIM, turn on phone with no SIM, turn off, then plug in SIM and reboot again.
Most likely it's the Network IC, very common issue
You can try all the SW things first just to be safe but if nothing works then it's all that's left.
I have found a workaround which has worked 100% during last 7-8 times this issue happened. Once the no sim and wifi detect issue happens, switch off the phone, plug it into charging, let it charge in switch off mode for 2 mins and then switch it on with charging on.
It sounds like jump starting but somehow it works. Seems like network IC or something gets reset. Keeping my op6 for now with this workaround!

I too had a similar problem after getting my touch and screen replaced at OnePlus service center , while returning they told me that it's motherboard is also faulted and will work for few months at max and after I started getting the same problem as sim card not being detected and wifi unabled , but I got a temporary fix for it. The problem still persist.
The solution to this is while the phone is loading just slap the screen with palm strongly just don't break the screen , slap it repeatedly until you are asked to put the unlock code.

It's a temporary solution as the problem is in your motherboard, i even had my IC changed but nothing helped. This is the only solution, it keeps happening twice a week or even more.
