Hello all,
today I got my OPO and first thing I wanted to do was unlocking, installing recovery and rooting. Unlocking and installing recovery was ok, but afterwards I couldn't boot the phone anymore. Stupidly I forgot to go into the phone before to enable usb debugging and disable cm recovery protection and now I can't set them anymore and I'm not able to transfer files to the phone to install another rom via TWRP to maybe install a new rom to get my phone working.
Has anybody an idea?
It was possible to transfer the files with ADB Sideload. The Problem is solved and the thread can be closed.
Can't you mount usb otg storage from TWRP?

Hi,
I'm new to the Android community and I was making some improvements in my XT1039. I unlocked the bootloader, flashed the Retail 5.1 for the XT1040 model. It was running fine, then I removed the bootloader unlocked warning and still fully functional. Also, I've flashed the TWRP recovery and everything was smooth. Then I tried to perform the root and I couldn't initialize my phone anymore. But I still could access the TWRP recovery. Then I started wiping to try to solve the problem, but the thing is that now my phone has no OS and can not initialize. It stops while in the Motorola loading screen.
I can fastboot, access the TWRP recovery and all, but there's no OS and my computer doesn't recognize my phone. while connect through the USB cable.
Is it possible to recover the phone? I was thinking that the solution would be to flash another firmware to the phone, but itsn't working.
Could anybody help me? It must have an alternative to fix it, I couldn't figure it out yet. Can you?
Thank you in advance
Yeah.. My computer didnt seem to recognise my phone either.. But it did get connected actually. There's some option deep inside control panel, where you can see what devices are attached to your computer. I will suggest you to go for a data wipe and install a fresh rom. Install via sideload, as you can access recovery, it shouldn't be a problem. Rom can be directly installed from pc to your phone, it case it doesnt have a rom, I believe. Google how to sideload using mfastboot

Or attach a pendrive with rom using USB otg cable

Fastboot flash the latest 5.1 factory firmware image for your phone - if available. Follow the tutorial linked in the first post. Note; it's very dangerous to flash incorrect firmware images.

Thank you for the replies. The following video has helped me solve the related issue, in case someone is in this situation.

Hello everyone. So, let's start by explaining what I have did.
For a while I had the XtreStolite Odex 2.0 edition and I wanted to try out other ROM. I have factory reset-ed when I was installing the ROM using TWRP and I somehow managed to delete all the phone's internal stuff, but I can still boot to TWRP or download mode.
I have tried to flash stock firmware using Odin 3.10.6 ( running as administrator too ) and when it gets to sboot.bin it fails right away. I have tried using Samsung Smart Switch PC Software, tells me my device is unsupported. If I try to manually find my model using the S/N, the software fully downloads then gives me an error.
I have tried to ADB sideload from TWRP Advanced menu, whenever I want to flash for example xtrestolite odex zip ( named rom.zip for short ) it goes "serving:... 21%" and gets stuck. If I try to push a zip it says "error:closed". I am no big expert in ADB, I don't know how to install the latest version, and I can't download the full Android SDK because my internet is very slow. I had Bootloader and Modem 5.1.1
I am looking for a way to move the XtreStolite ROM zip into the phone's memory so I can boot to TWRP and install the ROM. I've seen something with OTG Cable and USB but I have no real knowledge of these. If it comes as a last resort, if someone could briefly explain me how would I manage to repair the phone using the OTG Cable and USB stick.
I also have a Nandroid Backup on my PC but I don't know how to move it to the phone's storage, because it's well, bricked. When I'm trying to copy files over Mount option in TWRP, it says that it cannot copy the file, the device may be disconnected.
I had Bootloader and Modem 5.1.1, also Windows 10. I can go back to 7 or 8.1 anytime it's needed.
Much appreciations.
EDIT: I actually repaired it by flashing a stock firmware downloaded from xda ( God bless you whoever linked the mega.co.nz stock fw link ) . Thread can be deleted.
You can also flash these via odin.

Hello,
I was running Sultans 12.1 Rom.
I downloaded Franco Kernel R44 from the Oneplus One Franco Kernel thread.
I flashed via twrp and then got stuck in the oneplus logo boot loop.
I then tried restarting the phone back into recovery but the phone turned off and is now unable to restart.
I plug the phone into my Windows 10 pc to see if it will show up in device manager but the only thing I get is an Unknown USB device error.
Is there any way to recover back from this. I do have a NAND backup.
Thank you for any help that anyone can offer.

That solution won't work because I cannot even turn on my phone to enter fastboot. And the phone does not show up properly in device manager even after installing the recommended Samsung drivers.
Use the hard brick repair with Qualcomm 2012 drivers and MSM8974DLTool.exe, that would return you to ColorOS, or COS12 or CM11s respective to flash files. Then use the above method by @kenboyles72 and flash cos12.1 or whatever you want to flash

Hi there, I think I made a big mistake.
I have Android 4.4.2 stock with Elemental X kernel (with root and fastboot unlocked).
I made an update to Elemental X kernel for Android 6.0, thinking that it was a Rom not a kernel.
Now, Android is working but storage is missing (Dropbox/Camera is not working, Settings>Storage makes a force close, SDCard is not found when going with ES Explorer...)
Also, I don't have any network and my phone is not detected when connecting to my laptop (so I can't use adb).
It is not detected when going on recovery and fastboot.
I'm bad right now. I don't know what to do to restore it.
Do you guys have ideas? Thanks! :highfive:
1st Nexus 5 does not have external storage!
2nd Without Factory reset u cannot repair ur storage problem/ Try mounting storage and firmware from twrp and then restart ur phone! if this doesn't work then flash Factory image!
