[Q] [HELP] Is this brick recoverable? - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm new to the Android community and I was making some improvements in my XT1039. I unlocked the bootloader, flashed the Retail 5.1 for the XT1040 model. It was running fine, then I removed the bootloader unlocked warning and still fully functional. Also, I've flashed the TWRP recovery and everything was smooth. Then I tried to perform the root and I couldn't initialize my phone anymore. But I still could access the TWRP recovery. Then I started wiping to try to solve the problem, but the thing is that now my phone has no OS and can not initialize. It stops while in the Motorola loading screen.
I can fastboot, access the TWRP recovery and all, but there's no OS and my computer doesn't recognize my phone. while connect through the USB cable.
Is it possible to recover the phone? I was thinking that the solution would be to flash another firmware to the phone, but itsn't working.
Could anybody help me? It must have an alternative to fix it, I couldn't figure it out yet. Can you?
Thank you in advance

Yeah.. My computer didnt seem to recognise my phone either.. But it did get connected actually. There's some option deep inside control panel, where you can see what devices are attached to your computer. I will suggest you to go for a data wipe and install a fresh rom. Install via sideload, as you can access recovery, it shouldn't be a problem. Rom can be directly installed from pc to your phone, it case it doesnt have a rom, I believe. Google how to sideload using mfastboot

Or attach a pendrive with rom using USB otg cable

Fastboot flash the latest 5.1 factory firmware image for your phone - if available. Follow the tutorial linked in the first post. Note; it's very dangerous to flash incorrect firmware images.

[Q] Need help, transfer archives via recovery

Hi guys i need help, i wanted flash a ROM but i make format system, wipe data and i forgot transfer the ROM, now i don't know how transfer the Zip of the ROM, because i only. can enter into bootloader and recovery because the phone ovbiously don't start, help me.
PD: i can't use adb in recovery :c
If you wiped the data, there's nothing to recover.
Having the same issue now :crying:
Flashed my ROM and boot screen is stucked now, wiped all my data...
Have tried using TWRP and CWM old 4.3x but no luck, as when I try to boot recovery it just go straight pass it to boot the ROM. (Bootloader -> Recovery -> Volume Up)
I have noticed that my computer (Windows 8.1) is missing out driver for XT1034, however it should be identified as XT1032 not XT1034?
If I could get a driver software for XT1034, I could possibly use either Recovery mod to mount the /SDcarrd/ and then transfer the ROM zip file.
What I've currently using:
Tesco Moto G (8GB)
CWM v6.0.4.6
Previous ROM is Stock KK
Motorola DeviceManager Software - contains the drivers for Moto G
What I know was that my phone was definilty recognised as XT1032 and not sure why it changed to XT1034...
Please someone shed some light
Got it sorted now, back on 4.3!

[Q] Stuck during cyanogenmod install

Dear XDA community,
I installed Clockwork recovery and the USB drivers. The device is unlocked and when in fastboot mode it is correctly identified by my PC as falcon XT1302 with an USB connection. When in recovery mode, the device appears as "Android" in the devices menu in Windows 7 and there is a yellow "!" next to it. Unfortunately after formatting system and deleting the cache as per instructions the device won't boot up. I'm stuck at the bootloader unlock warning screen. I can access fastboot mode and recovery mode but that's it.
I want to place the cyanogenmod zip inside the internal SD card of the Moto G but adb doesn't work. I get the device not found error when inputting a command. adb devices returns a blank. I don't know which drivers to install or what to do. I've tried various fixes on forums but none work. Maybe USB debugging is the problem although I distinctly remember switching it on. In any case, I can't boot so I can't change the settings.
All I want is a way to place the cyano .zip in the phone /sdcard so that I can install it. I'm all out of ideas. USB mounting doesn't seem to work. Neither does sideloader (or maybe I messed it up?) I am at wit's end.
I didn't have anything important on my phone so I did not make a backup. In hindsight, this was a stupid mistake. I've certainly learned a lot during the install attempt.
If possible please give step by step instructions. I am not a very technical person. Any help would be greatly appreciated. pls halp
kind regards
Dont worry too much if you can acces Fast Boot just download STOCK Firmware for your version I can't post links cuz im beginer searc under help "Restore STOCK Firmware" and flash it. :fingers-crossed:
Reply here i will tell you how if you not fixed it alredy
Thanks but that's not really what I want to do. I want to flash cyanogenmod on it.

Thanks to the users who replied. I've managed to solve the problem.
Would have been faster though to get your device recognized while in recovery. You can install the driver manually and it should work. Just search for seperate driver files and ignore the Windows message that it is probably 'not compatible etc.'.
Then your device is connected properly and you can get ADB sideload to work from your recovery.

Your phone wouldn't be detected via ADB while in fastboot.
I'm having a hard time trying to understand your problem?
Reflash a stock rom, if that's the problem.
Download drivers, reboot computer, go to CWM.
ADB push the ZIP to the device
If that doesn't work, I'd recommend getting an usb device thing that works for Moto G.
Good luck
(Sorry if i'm way off on what the problem is)

Recovery mode ADB works easily if you are using a Linux PC / Laptop, but requires more work if you are using Windows. I've never established exactly what is required in terms of Windows, but I believe Win7 or newer can work.
Once you have ADB working in recovery, you can push a ROM zip. The other option is to fastboot flash one of the factory firmware images. State your model / carrier and I can provide a link.

Thanks for your help , i flashed the stock rom for 4.4 , but now I cannot install lollipop from the OTA . I have a retail version . How to i install the lollipop update and Cyanogen mod is also not working
Your phone needs to be running stock recovery and no root. You probably need to update the Motorola Update Services app using the Play store, then check for software updates.
Thanks it had worked . sorry for such a late reply .

[HELP] Soft-bricked Galaxy S6 G920F [Solved]

Hello everyone. So, let's start by explaining what I have did.
For a while I had the XtreStolite Odex 2.0 edition and I wanted to try out other ROM. I have factory reset-ed when I was installing the ROM using TWRP and I somehow managed to delete all the phone's internal stuff, but I can still boot to TWRP or download mode.
I have tried to flash stock firmware using Odin 3.10.6 ( running as administrator too ) and when it gets to sboot.bin it fails right away. I have tried using Samsung Smart Switch PC Software, tells me my device is unsupported. If I try to manually find my model using the S/N, the software fully downloads then gives me an error.
I have tried to ADB sideload from TWRP Advanced menu, whenever I want to flash for example xtrestolite odex zip ( named rom.zip for short ) it goes "serving:... 21%" and gets stuck. If I try to push a zip it says "error:closed". I am no big expert in ADB, I don't know how to install the latest version, and I can't download the full Android SDK because my internet is very slow. I had Bootloader and Modem 5.1.1
I am looking for a way to move the XtreStolite ROM zip into the phone's memory so I can boot to TWRP and install the ROM. I've seen something with OTG Cable and USB but I have no real knowledge of these. If it comes as a last resort, if someone could briefly explain me how would I manage to repair the phone using the OTG Cable and USB stick.
I also have a Nandroid Backup on my PC but I don't know how to move it to the phone's storage, because it's well, bricked. When I'm trying to copy files over Mount option in TWRP, it says that it cannot copy the file, the device may be disconnected.
I had Bootloader and Modem 5.1.1, also Windows 10. I can go back to 7 or 8.1 anytime it's needed.
Much appreciations.
EDIT: I actually repaired it by flashing a stock firmware downloaded from xda ( God bless you whoever linked the mega.co.nz stock fw link ) . Thread can be deleted.
You can also flash these via odin.

Soft Bricked Lenovo Tab 2 A8-50F

Hello,
I have an a8-50f that I was attempting to flash with a new ROM because I had the wifi issue that this particular model seems to have (connection basically dropping a minute or so after connecting to wifi). I flashed a TWRP which was supposed to be for my model. The guy on the forum post in which I found the link said it worked on his a8-50f. However, when I tried to boot the device after flashing TWRP it kept failing to mount "/data". After attempting a couple things to fix it I (stupidly) lost bootloader access via adb, when I tried to wipe the drive with China Recovery.
So now it's hanging at the Lenovo boot screen. I can still access China Recovery but it doesn't seem like I can do anything with that. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix the system or recovery partitions from this state? Maybe how to revert the TWRP flash. I have what should be the stock system and recovery images if someone knows a way to attempt a flash without adb access.
Thanks a lot for any help you guys can provide.
*Can't post images because I'm a new account. The TWRP error screen is at /ycD6B0e on imgur.
I know it is late but try Mtkclient. https://GitHub.com/bkerler/mtkclient
After building Mtkclient start the GUI and plug the tablet in from an off state.
Hope this works.
