No storage found, devide not detected after update ElementalX6.0 - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there, I think I made a big mistake.
I have Android 4.4.2 stock with Elemental X kernel (with root and fastboot unlocked).
I made an update to Elemental X kernel for Android 6.0, thinking that it was a Rom not a kernel.
Now, Android is working but storage is missing (Dropbox/Camera is not working, Settings>Storage makes a force close, SDCard is not found when going with ES Explorer...)
Also, I don't have any network and my phone is not detected when connecting to my laptop (so I can't use adb).
It is not detected when going on recovery and fastboot.
I'm bad right now. I don't know what to do to restore it.
Do you guys have ideas? Thanks! :highfive:

1st Nexus 5 does not have external storage!
2nd Without Factory reset u cannot repair ur storage problem/ Try mounting storage and firmware from twrp and then restart ur phone! if this doesn't work then flash Factory image!

Help! ClockworkMod: "E: Can't mount SDCard"Did I brick my One S?

Good evening,
I really need your help. Been satisfied user of the Virtuous Ville ROM, but wanted to try Leedroids On S Rom today.
It all started with flsahing the Boot.img via ADB, which worked fine. But hereafter, I think I may have made a bad mistake: I launched ClockworkMod recovery, pressed "Nandroid Backup" - without verifying the message - and then wiped my phone. I should have noticed that Clockworkmod wasn't able to mount the SDCard already at the time when it attempted to do the nandroid backup.
Situation is, phone is empty and won't boot, I have been trying to restore access to my SD Card since about three hours, re-rooted my phone and read some bricking threads here at XDA... could not find a solution.
I have used the android internal encryption feature when I had the old ROM. Could it be that this blocks Clockwork Mod from accessing the SDCard?
Can someone please help me?
Maybe there is a way to flash a Ville ROM via ADB, so I can bypass my SDCard-Problem?
Greetings
Ulukaii
Amendment:
right now, I am trying to revive my phone via relocking it and installing the Stock ROM via RUU afterwards. I hope this works while the phone is in fastboot mode.
If this is successful, I am going to post it here.
Does anyone know if I have to revert to stock recovery before applying the RUU?
Thanks in advance
Ulu

And NO you dont need stock recovery, Just a sense ROM and a relocked bootloader
no you dont have to. RUU flash via fastboot should be no prob.

I had the same problem a few days ago & the other forums didn't work for me so I relocked the bootloader and flashed the RUU. Now its back to its factory state and im well I'm just happy it works

Edit -- azzledazzle already provided correct link -- apologies for double post
The link works, had to use it myself.
why not just try flashing stock recovery then going back to bootloader and clearing storage and then going back to bootloader restoring to factory and then rebooting into the rom it'll wipe all partitions including sdcard except for system that uses the original proc/mount and restores sdcard to default
worked for me everytime

That's precisely what was posted further above already. Click the link.
I also get this message "Can't mount SDCard" when using HTC sync to PC..
QUICK WAY TO FIX SD CARD ERRORS
Well this worked for me can't guarentee it for everyone else. I'm running a mac, was able to boot into CM10 very well. Initially it just got stuck at the bootloading image so I had to flash an update boot.img and was able to get in but noticed no sd card even couldn't access the sd card in recovery. So I flashed a TWRP Recovery, still showed that it wouldn't allow me to mount the sd card telling me there is some error, however it allows to mount usb storage which is a life saver.
On mac automatically it comes up with a pop up window that says initialize... ignore eject.
Click Initialize.
Tap on the Drive on the side -> ERASE TAB on top
From the drop down list chose FAT -> CLICK ERASE
After it's done eject the storage safely then unmount usb storage from the phone, you can try and tap mount SD CARD and it will still give you the same error. No worries there, boot into the OS and it'll prompt you that the sd card partition is damaged, it'll ask you to format. Let it format and your in the clear.
This works great if you were able to get into your OS.
I was running CM10
Just use TWRP. Thats it.

[q] htc one xl wont connect need help asap

HI XDA,
After flashing a early version of sense 5 rom for my phone, twrp doesnt install any other roms. And after accidentally deleting my back ups, i cleared my rom and now I have no OS. To make it worse, my phone doesnt connect to the computer so i cant load any other rom on. I NEED HELP PLEASE ASAP
What version of TWRP are you using?
Also, you need to work out why the pc can't see your device. Did you factory reset in bootloader?

Okay i have twrp 2.3.1 and after doing factory reset, my sdcard wont mount and it is still not recognized in the pc
Go into recovery, connect your phone to pc, select mount usb storage, find it in my computer on your pc, format it to fat32 format. Now it will be usable again.

Great! it worked. Now my next problem is I can't flash any JB rom it seems like. I always get a failed error. I flashed a PA Android rom from 2012 and it worked however the rom itself was completely unable to use. The keyboard didn't work, the hardkeys didn't work.
What hboot version is your phone on?

[Q] Stuck with bootloader and recovery - no usb

I've been searching forums for 2 days on this and have found nothing specifically for this. While I was flashing a ROM I somehow corrupted my sd card (internal memory). everything was wiped out except the boot loader and twrp 2.3.3 . Normally that wouldn't be an issue except my pc wont recognize the usb. I have the latest drivers for it and before it corrupted it saw everything just fine I am on windows 8.1 and it says it can't recognize the usb plugged in (states that the device might be malfunctioning). I can get fastboot USB, but device manager states usb device failed enumeration. I've tried going through ADB manually and it wont see my HOX, none of the RUU .exe's will see it either. I'm currently on HBOOT 2.15. How can I at least get USB back so I can install twrp 2.5 and fix the internal storage?
On older versions of Windows when you connect a corrupted sd card it prompts you to format it. I don't have any experience with Windows 8 but going by your post I'm guessing you're not getting that prompt. On later versions of TWRP (2.6) you can fix a corrupt sd card by wiping the sd card in the advanced wipe menu, I'm not sure if that's true for the older version of TWRP you're running, it's worth a try though. If that fails maybe try using a PC with an older Windows version installed to see if it shows up so you can format it.

I'm loading win 7 onto a laptop as I speak. Hope this works. Thanks
update: It ended up being a windows 8 issue. While I didnt get the format prompt the 3.18 RUU was able to see it under windows 7 and flash it back to stock. Now I have a little work to do to get a recent version of twrp and a good rom back onto it.
Thanks again

Stuck on CWM when trying to install CM10.2.1

Hello,
I got this HTC One X from AT&T (->evita) and tried to get CM 10.2.1 running on that.
The steps I made:
Boot into bootloader, go to fastboot, then get the identifier, get unlock token via htcdev and unlocked it with fastboot.
I then flashed CWM 6.0.4.6 for evita via "fastboot flash recovery *filename*". Now I booted into CWM (recovery) and wiped everything instead of first trying to copy the cm.zip onto the sdcard. (I also didnt do this when the stock ROM was still running...)
Now I can access the phone via fastboot in the bootloader but I can not use adb or the USB mount when in CWM. Whenever I plug the phone into my computer (or laptop, doesn't matter. Also tried switching between USB 2 and 3 ports!) Windows keeps making the "unplugged" sound every second.
Reinstalling the latest HTC drivers did not change anything.
Anyone here knows a way how I can stop that or get the zip file on the memory? I also tried flashing the boot.img on boot and tested if I can copy the file then through CWM but that did not work.
Hoping,
NyphoX
Not sure if it'll work but try using TWRP recovery instead:

Installed the most recent version.
I get into the recovry and when I plug it into a computer Windows will keep making the "unplugged"-noise.
I can see the sdcard-directory perfectly when I hit install in both, TWRP and CWM but when I want to mount it via USB it will not change anything and I cannot access it on my PC.
adb doesn't list any device either.
Also, TWRP and CWM keep telling me that my phone is not rooted, when I try to power off or restart. Is that normal?
My other HTC One X (non AT&T) just works fine with cwm 5.*.*.*
It's normal for the recovery to inform you that you're not rooted, it'll suggest that you install superuser but there's no point doing that in your case because you have no working OS installed. Did you at any point perform a factory reset from the bootloader? If so, you've corrupted the internal storage (known bug on modified Evitas) and will need to wipe it with TWRP.
Sent from my Evita
Saw that in your Q&A.
I wiped the internal_sd and tested it after but it still did not work. I also tried a factory reset through TWRP but that did not help either.
Both recovery programs keep telling me "E:Unable to mount '/cache'.
Still not working. Q_Q
Update: I got like the oldest laptop I ever owned and installed the most recent HTC drivers there and tried to mount it. It told me in device manager that the "evita" is not recognized. When I let Windows search automatically it installed the drivers and I am now able to access the memory.
I can only assume what the problem was but it seems like the HTC One X (endeavoru) driver and the evita don't like each other...
TL;DR trying to install now. Will edit.
//EDIT: Windows still screws when I plug the phone to the other computer/laptop, so I just have to use the old machine now. Still thanks for your help, timmaaa!
//EDIT: It does work when I booted CM and enable the USB storage at the other two machines.

[Q] Help with adb sideload!

Hi, I'm on a Spring HTC One M7 and I accidentally (cuz im a noob) flashed the android 4.4 rom for GSM devices. Now my phone is softbricked and stuck on the boot screen. I am running TWRP 2.7.1.0. I have been trying to sideload and flash a different rom since I didn't make a back up. Now when I'm in my cmd and input the "adb usb" I get the error: closed message. I'm pretty sure I have the latest drivers and the version of SDK. Please help! I really don't want to do a factory reset because of all the stuff I have on my phone!

if you are going to flash a different rom its going to delete all of your user data anyway, does the M7 have a SD card slot? put on in and flash CWM, from there you should be able to mount usb storage and take some of your data off the phone.
The M7 doesn't have a SD card slot
