Hello, I bought the LTE version in Hong Kong and changed the locale to Japanese. Sometimes when I click on the screen and a new window is supposed to open, I get a message like:
Maximum number of windows. Cannot open a new windows because the current number of windows has reached the maximum.
The strange thing is that even I terminated other windows and thus the current one is the only window, this message continues to show up.
Know how to resolve this issue? Thanks.

I have a quite unusual problem when i connect my mobile phone to PC. It's very hard to explain nature of my problem. I can't figure how to describe it so I made a video to show you:

Little explanation:
When I connect my mobile phone to PC everything gets synced like it should, but active window on my screen every few seconds gets selected and then it deselects so it's very hard to do anything, a specially write something as it doesn't register some of the letters i pressed. In video I'm writing numbers in order and you can see that in the period of time when active window deselects it self it doesn't registers numbers that I entered.
I recently upgraded to Vista 32-bit and Windows Mobile Center 6.1.6965, but I had the same problem on WinXP with ActiveSync installed.
I'm searching internet for weeks now to find solution, or someone with same problem, with no success.
Is there anybody else with this problem or with possible solution?
I would appreciate any info!

It seems the focus is moving away from your current active window for some reason. This is the same effect you would get if, for example, you were to click on some other windows while continously typing in notepad, and then clicking on the notepad window again..
must be due to some program running in the background.. does this happen only with the sync software running?

Yes. it happens only when i connect my Vox to PC. I lost my charger so I charge my Mobile phone via USB. To be able to work on my PC while charging my Vox I have to disable USB connection in connection settings of device center, because it is really annoying to work on PC when focus is moving away from active window every few seconds. I had the same problem on WinXP with AciveSync.
I don't know which program could do such a thing, and do it only when I connect my mobile phone? Because i had the same problem on XP I'm starting to think maybe something is wrong with my mobile phone. I did hard reseted my phone few times. No effect.
You simply might want to try a different Mini-USB-cable. I lately had problems with the phone synching for only 45 seconds, then dropping out. After two days of hair-pulling I simply changed the cable - and everything worked fine.

at first I thought it worked, but in few minutes it started to do the same thing again.

probably this has already been investigated and/or solved (or not), I don't know, but I was not able to find anything related and I believe it is quite strange...
I was used (using WM6.0) to search contacts using keywords being present in the record in the following way:
- Open contact application (the application opens with the first line ready for input);
- place some text in the first line, such as "Richard"
- being presented from the application a list with ONLY contacts containing the word "Richard", either in the name, company name, address, notes, etc.
Well, I find this being impossible with my brand new VODAFONE TOUCH PRO (Raphael) I recently got:
- I open contact application (nothing strange till here...)
- I type just one letter (i.e. "R")
- the PDA immediately switches to PHONE MODE, placing a call to my first contact (I think so, havent been able to double check yet) whose name starts with "R" letter...
- I obviously have to immediately abort as I don't want to place an unwanted call...
This way the only chance I have to search my contacts is to PARSE them by hand, but having more than 2000 it's a really waste of time, beside the fact I can select the first letter the name starts with (and so no chances to find the keyword appearing in other fields...).
Is anyone else reporting the same problems ???
Is there some kind of setup setting I'm forgetting of ???

I've got the same problem. Its actually a little weirder than you wrote. Most letters work fine.
Pressing 'r', however, automatically dials whatever name you are on. Pressing 'w' inserts 'w*', which breaks the search (you can delete the * and then continue).
There may be other letter problems too. This is on a Sprint Touch Pro.
Anyone else?
BTW, the hard keyboard works fine.
I wonder if this problem exists also in other applications such as SMS??
i sometimes face a problem while writting an SMS, i press a character but suddenly i find the dialer activated...!!!
does this has anything to do with special characters?

I wish I had a solution, but can only chime in that I have had two Sprint Touch pro's and both have the same problem. If you call sprint, they haven't heard anything about it (supposedly) but it seems to be a problem with all sprint touch pros.
I have the same problem with my Sprint HTC Touch Pro. Don't know how to fix it. Can anyone help?
Hello together, I am new here (well, at least as poster)
I've got a used XDA Diamond Pro (aka Touch Pro, german O2 branding) and try to "move in" form my old Prophet.
The new thingy can soooo much more, but the actual reason to change was the shiny look and the hardware keyboard - from both I am a bit disappointed in the last four weeks I try to get used to the new device...
But my actual problem is this:
On the Prophet I use ozBT 0.76 to automatically switch on Bluetooth when a call comes in and I drive in the car and the hands-free setup should take over. Works great there.
Now I want to move this over to the Touch Pro. ozBT 0.76 runs. Fine. It starts the BT when I start the telephone app to start an outgoing call. Fine. But the other way (which is the more important one) does not work: Incoming call does not start the BT. When checking this, I found, that the WM 6.1 does not start the full telephone app (german window title "Telefon"), but only a notification dialog with a accept and a deny button.
Now - how do I tell ozBT (or any other program which needs a program name or window title to ask the task manager process whether something is running or not) what to watch out for? i.e. what is the name of the process behind that notification dialog?

the problem is solved - and a little bit more tricky, than I had expected:
(1) The phone app is cprog.exe and it runs as long as the phone is booked into a network - so that is not the right solution...
(2) The first line in the notification window is "Eing.Anr." (german for inc. call) - et voila ozBT switches the BT on for "#bEing.;" in the "title begins with" section. So I can continue to get used to the touch pro now...
(3) General startegy next time someone needs a prog. name for ozBT:
most likely, the window title starts with a letter. So try in "starting with..." with "A", "B", etc. until you have the first letter, then continue with the second letter, most of the time that is anyway enough...

I am new to tablots and android and have about 300 questions but wil limit it to the important ones.
I have seen references to different models like 60,70,80 but have no idea where a person would find what model you have. I have looked at the sticker on the back with the serial number and in the setup and about but don't see anything that would indicate what the model is aside from a TF-101
The firmware I have is 8.6.5.13-.. and would like to upgrade it as I see on the ASUS download page there is a 8.6.5.21 which is supposed to fix some bugs but when I got to setup and check for updates I am advised there are no updates for my device.
I also read that you can connect a mouse to the USB port however when I connect a wireless USB mouse receiver the light on the receiver does not come on and the mouse does not function. I have done a search but cannot find any solutions, so would appreciate knowing what is required so the USB functions with a mouse.
I have downloaded our local newspaper a half dozen times today which is in PDF format, and while reading it in office it simply disappears for no reason, which has become a real frustration. Is there another app to read pdf files, am I doing something wrong in office, or is this a bug with office? I know if gave two choices when opening the file, one was office and I don't recall the other one. I tried the other one however it only displays one page at a time and you can't simply scroll to the next page you have to select a dot at the bottom representing the page you want to go to which is a little tough with the size of my fingers.
When I opened it this morning it showed 4 e-mal messages on the home page so selected e-mail and when it opened the e-mails all instantly disappeared and have no idea why or where they went. They were not in the trash folder so have no idea what happened to them.

On the bottom of the tablet its self there should be a sticker (unless you took it off) and it will start with B then it will have two characters after it such as 70 or 90 does not matter much now as you probably have a new model. The only thing that depends on the number is NVFlash so it is not a big deal.
It tells you how to install the new firmware on the asus site. I believe you put the file you download there in your /asus folder
Should work on the newer firmware if not it is unsuported as it probably need periferal drivers
The paper will be in your /downloads folder. Open my files then open it from there. I suggest the pre installed MyLybrary

Normally USB peripherals should work fine, maybe the update you want to do will solve the problem.
For the emails something came to mind: is it possible that they were old emails that the tablet picked up while dormant and before you used the pad you went on a computer/cell phone and deleted them? So when you used the tablet the emails disappeared when the app pinged the mail server. This happens to me all the time since I have a ****ty internet connection maybe I notice it more as there is a 30sec to 1 minute delay to mail updates

I think the .13 firmware had a USB bug that if you reboot it with the mouse plugged in it will work.
Check the ASUS Support site for the .21 firmware. Download, unzip to a microSD card. Insert and it should find the update.
Check out ezPDF or Aldiko for a PDF reader. Much better than Polaris.

See your tablet's serial number. When anyone talks about B40, B50 or so on all of them talking about first 3 numbers of the serial number...
You should have been able to update and get OTA from ASUS itself... Try updating from tablet itself... You should be able to update if you look under "about tablet" under setting.....

I bought a WelTv streaming tv box about 4 years ago. It is running Android 4.4. WelTv was shut down in March 2017. Since then I used this as the regular Android streaming box. Then the error appeared. It was quite difficult to load the OS. I had to unplug the power and plug it back many times in order to load the OS. Eventually it stopped at the WelTv logo and didn't load the OS. So I decided to do the factory reset. After that, in the initiate set up it ask for the Registration code (Activation code). I found one ( I believe it is the activation code ). But because the WelTv was shut down so there is no more Customers Service so the activation was failed. Then when I turned on this box it could load the OS. I suppose be able to surf the internet but there was a window pop up said that " Activation failed please contact the Customers Service ". But there was no more Customers Service. The window pop up every few seconds. Is is very annoyance. How can I remove/disable this registration block ? any help will be appreciated.
