I had a Verizon S3 on Straight Talk, using an AT&T sim. Recently, Page Plus started offering Verizon 4G LTE. Switched service, and now I have no data at all. In the "About Phone" section, it shows that I am indeed connected to 4G, but I can't get any data. If I do a hard reset, the 4G LTE icon shows up for a few minutes, then disappears, never to return. I also cannot add an apn, as the "+" is grayed out. Any help is appreciated

Has anyone noticed that when using the browser or any app, towards the bottom of the screen in a pop up it says "preparing simcard"? What's up with that?

Never seen it.
I only see it when i boot up my phone in the morning.
In the notification bar it'll show "changing restricted access" with a triangle and a ! inside of it.
I wonder...wtf does it mean!

Looks like what that was AT&T working on deploying LTE here in Jacksonville. Yay LTE! I'm hitting 30-55 down and 15-29 down on average...

I've been wondering about this, too. I get it fairly often, and not just when booting. Sometimes I see the "restricted access" message, sometimes not.

I see this all the time when playing games or doing other stuff.. I think it may have something to do with switching networks.. I say that because I get really bad service at my house, and I see it switch from lte to 4g to edge constantly, soooo.. I dunno? Happens to me tho.
Happens here too, on Rogers One X on virgin. If it is LTE related that could make sense because virgin has LTE but has only deployed it for tablet sims so far, not for phones, but the network is there.
Hello all,
Throughout today my phone has only been on at&t edge network. Earlier I played around in phone information (*#*#4636#*#*) or something like that. I did a reboot to hopefully rest it and no cigar, its still on edge. Any suggestions? I'd rather not have to run an RUU.
Thanks...

Reference your apn under network settings to the lte att apn, google it.

Mine does this all the time. A reboot fixes it for me though. V
So I got my Dev RAZR HD from Motorola about three weeks ago. As soon as I got it I unlocked the bootloader voiding my warranty, and last night it dropped down to 3g. I can't get 4g for the life of me. I toggled data on and off. I've factory reset. I've flashed the stock image. Removed Sim put Sim back in. I even called Verizon who ran me through all the things that I just mentioned then they told me it was probably hardware related and that I would be screwed since I chose to unlock my bootloader and void my warranty.
My wife's sgs3 is still getting great 4g reception and if I take my Sim out and put it in another phone like my galaxy nexus I get 4g. I am at a loss.
Has anyone else has this issue and do you know a fix if so.

That's strange. Have you tried getting 4g other places? And i know you said the SIM card is good but maybe putting a new one in? I don't know, if it is hardware, that sucks.
I tried putting my wife's sim card in and that worked I got 4g so I'm hoping its just a bad sim card

Sounds like a provisioning error on the card specific to the Maxx.
It was the sim card.

I just got a used razr hd from swappa and am having the same problem, using the sim that came with my gnex. If I install LTE on/off from play, I can put the phone in LTE only mode and it works just fine, but then no calls, with the same SIM in my gnex and tbolt, they both get LTE without a problem.
Stupid question but did you activate the phone?

wouldn't it not work at all if it wasn't activated? I've used this SIM for over a year with a gnex just fine
I just mean have you gone to the Verizon website and switched your activated phone to the HD.

I don't see any option to change device without an upgrade, but it does still show galaxy nexus.
That's why I think. You need to log in as the account holder. Then under "my verizon" at the top there will be a switch/activate option.

it was the SIM, went by the store and got it swapped to a new one and it went right to LTE

Hi,
Having Razr HD, German O2 Version, but installed Retail ROM (4.1.2; 98.22.16001.XT925.Retail.en.DE; Baseband: VANQUISH_U_BP_100700.250.66.01P). Having phon now for 3 days, never any LTE on Vodafone SIM... I should have coverage where I live, so something seems to be wrong... Anyone here with working LTE with Vofdafone Germany?
Thanks,
DerRider
UPDATE: solved the problem: I have an Ultracard from Vodafone and only the primary card works with LTE. The hotline could have told me this, when I called them Saturday to confirm my SIM is activated for LTE... damn, what a waste of time... Solutions was so simple.
Just got my replacement in the mail and i cannot connect to 4g. My s3 I had replaced had 4g every where I went..
I haven't done anything to the phone its just been on 3g since out of the box.
My network mode is on CDMA/LTE so I should have 4g
Verizon walked me thought the trouble shooting nothing worked.
Any suggestions guys? Have any clue what the problem could be?

Just for kicks, I would turn on airplane mode and let sit a second then turn it back off and see if it does any good. If not power off, pull battery, sim, sdcard let sit for 30 secs to a min with nothing installed. Then put sim, sd, and battery back in and restart. The 4g data is refreshed with the sim being pulled.
Good luck,

Since purchasing this phone about a month ago, I haven't had LTE. I checked my SIM in my wife's iPhone 6s and it pulled LTE. My t-mobile rep said they know about the issue and quickly set me up for a warranty exchange. Anyone else have this issue? If it's a known issue, why isn't anyone else talking about it?
Can you guys confirm that the S7 has a designated stock LTE icon? Mine always says 4G and Ookla says my download/upload are 7.5 and 12.2 respectfully.
EDIT: latest firmware, no case on device, in Lemoore, CA., no known outages

Vise versa actually. My SIM pulled LTE on her iPhone. Her SIM in my S7 only got 4G, just like my SIM does in it.

My s7 also doesn't say LTE, only 4g. Is it suppose to say LTE? I'm in a major metropolitan area and haven't seen LTE. I got 100Mbps though from home.

I have no idea if we're SUPPOSED to have a designated LTE icon. Anyone have a screenie of the illustrious icon on a T-mobile S7?
Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
I haven't seen it but it sounds like it could be an incorrect APN setting. But I would have thought they would have you check that.

We checked the APN and even made another with T-mobiles settings manually inputted. Still nothing. The new phone comes Thursday. I will see if it's the phone, the service, or there really isn't an issue and where I live just sucks.

My Tmobile S7 never says LTE either. It always says 4G. I downloaded the LTE Discovery app from the Play Store and it clearly states that I am connected to the LTE network. It shows the signal strength, channel and tower I'm connected to. Hope that helps.

According to the screenshot, you are on Good Lock. That UI skin says 4G instead of LTE.

That seems to have been my issue here. Upon uninstalling Good Lock and restarting, my LTE popped up. Looks like my area just sucks

You guys are joking right? You're using Good Lock which uses the stock Google System UI icons. 4G = LTE
This is a pic of my homescreen, Icon shows 4G but I'm on LTE (Band 4).

No one was joking, and to comment with guns-a-blazing with the goal of offending someone isn't what this place is about. My area is suffering a congestion issue, so my LTE is still spotty. But at least I know that there is a designated LTE icon.

I do not know closest cross streets but putting just Lemoore, CA 93245 in search on the Sensorly website 4G is in surrounding areas but solid coverage is only for 3G. Check on the website and put in your cross streets. Looking on the Root Metrics coverage map shows 4G LTE.
Isn't 4g and lte the same thing?

Not really. LTE doesn't fully satisfy the requirements of a 4th generation GPRS. It is getting there, though. @42freelancer, I hope you don't do a warranty exchange over a UI bug. Do some speed tests and real use (Youtube, etc) to see what sort of service you're getting. The stock Samsung firmware for the S6 says 4G, not LTE...
