Has anyone else had this yet?
Got the phone Saturday and its been fine. Today whilst at work i took it out of my pocket and there is a crack from the top to the bottom on the back. Not hit anything or dropped it. It starts from the middle of the camera and LED down through to the Y of the sony then off to the right. Its looks like its been under stress...from being in my pocket. This is a joke!! Utterly pissed off. O2 wont replace and having to send it off to Sony for repair.

Hey, I was riding my friends bmx and i crassed and i landed exaxtly on the phone, now its black, but when i got home, the screen like poped or how u say it, that it got the picture back, but then it went straight away, so wat could be wronge, some cable loose, or something broken
broken screen, you need a new one
No, its not broken, it just took the picture back on and it has stayed on atlest 1h, but there are some stripes at the bottom
ok, its cracked, but you still need replacement
Oo, but will something bad happened if i dont get the replacement now and dont get the phone to service
sincerely doubt it
such a small crak maybe got some glass wondering around, but I suspect it may ever do damage
So about two weeks ago I shattered my S3 screen by dropping it about two feet from the ground.
The GPS has never worked correctly on it and I've wanted to send it in for a while now...
But anyway. I fixed the screen today with a hairdryer and some time, and it looks pretty good. However, the back button and menu button do not work now (nor light up), and the glass is a little higher and it makes the home button a little recessed.
I called Verizon and asked if I could send it in for GPS repair (of course, not telling them about 'fixing' my phone) and the very nice lady on the phone said it would be fine to do, and they would send me a CPO S3 and then I'd send the other one back without back plate/ sim/ and battery.
My question - once they get the old phone back, will it be ok that I've replaced the screen? The only thing that makes it noticeable is if my screen protector is off (anti-glare), there are very very small scratches to the lcd (the screen was very shattered, and some of the shattered glass scratched when I was removing broken shards) Should I also tell them the menu buttons and back buttons do not work? Is it possible to be charged if they find out the screen was replaced for the cost of a new device? I'm currently on CleanRom 7 but am going to go back to stock tomorrow.
Thanks for reading and responses!!!
I'll try to keep this short. I got my nexus 5 in december 2013. ~1 month later, power and volume button are not working. Brought it to my carrier, they sent it to LG repair center where they "reseated" power and volume connector. Less than a month later, while watching picture, screen go crazy. First it seemed like there was a lot of static in the screen. Then it was like when you put gamma to the max on a monitor. Took it again to my carrier, and two months later, they come back to me saying i'd have to pay 189$ +tx (15% here) to get it fix. I know the phone internal work, when i start it i have feedback and i also have feed back when pressing volume keys. I changed carrier and left the phone on the corner of my desk because i got a sony xperia Z1. I've decided to change the screen because i miss the freedom of my nexus, so i just disassembled the whole thing and i found out the back of the LCD screen, which is pretty much a mirror, is scratched a lot. Is it normal ? I've attached a picture of the mirror.
Edit : The fingerprint there is mine.
No, that is not normal. The layer of foil on the back of an LCD is supposed to be mirror-like and unscratched, and damaging the foil can have consequences.

That's what i thought. Always said i must have had a lemon, but right now it's too late since i've completely opened the phone. Anyway, replacement screen should come soon. Just one more reason for me to hate LG.
Hi, I had my z3 screen replaced the other day, I got it back the next day and was delighted at the screen, it was perfectly fine. I got the phone home (stupidly didn't test in the shop) and popped my sim in, and had no service for about an hour, despite going all over my house.
So I took my phone back and they said they had to replace a part, so I received my phone back with signal, then the top of the screen had a very faded flickering, it was like a inner glow. I took it back and they had it for another day, I got the phone back to zero signal coverage, and now I can actually see the screen coming away on the left hand side (it's actually not flush with the case)
So I need somebody who is basically a mobile engineer to help me troubleshoot the problem so I'm more armed when I go in next, because obviously my phone was perfectly fine prior to the cracked screen repair.
Thanks for the help guys!

1. Use only OME screen replacement and dont forget to use the OME screen adhesive to stick the screen to the phone otherwise you gonna have a very bad time i.e your screen is slowing gonna come off the frame and you might not be able to use your proximity sensors and harsh movement might damage the screen. Whatever you do, do not apply pressure too much on the sceeen you might crack the digitalizer inside and also make the led bleed.
2. No signal might be because they did not connect the radio cable well or just damaged it.
My personal advise :
Go see professionals or repair it yourself

I replaced the LCD of my Z3 by watching tut video on witrigs.com but the new screen is not flush with the phone body ( but back cover is super slush) and like in your case its now coming off from one side. I think I got a duplicate LCD from the seller. But when I went to sony service center first time to replace the screen, their cost was almost half the cost of the phone. So I ordered LCD on ebay and the adhesive stickers on aliexpress. Now I am ordering new adhesive stickers from aliexpress as old ones are coming off. Dont know why its not flush fit.
So I advise to you is that watch that video guide on witrigs and then decide which way u want to go. service center or DIY. Also you will need the toolkit to open the phone. heat gun or hair dryer, screwdriver set, guitar picks, tweezers etc
In india, sony service is horrible so I always refrain going there.
Thanks for the response guys, this is the catch - I only took my phone into a local phone repair shop, I had to take it back in today and they said if they can't solve the issue with the new parts coming in tomorrow, they're going to have to send it back to sony and get it repaired that way. So hopefully my phone will be fixed, I am competent at the DIY it's just I didn't want to ruin any ribbons or anything and brick my phone.
I'll see how I get on.
Hello. My new Xperia Z5 seems to be working great so far.
I noticed that the back panel is slightly lifted on the top right corner to the point where you cannot feel where it meets the plastic side. If you push it down, you can feel where it meets the rim but after a while it returns to its normal position.
There also a noticeable gap on the left side and top left where dust seems to get in. The rest of the panel seems to fit fine.
Is anyone else having these problems? I'm mainly worried about it affecting the waterproofing.
Thanks.
i had that issue with my xperia Z2 but not with the Z5 that i own now...but i have a bright white spot on my screen and it appeared few days ago LOL going to sony service ASAP

Did it cause any problems? Waterproofing etc.
well i went in the water for about 30 min and i can tell u it worked till 30 mins and then the screen started to flicker and went emediatly out of water cuz it would break of course. i had water inside the phone so i had to dry it on the sun... so i think it can cause problems if u ask me...but at the end i wouldnt recomend u submerging the phone or geting it wet cuz its not made for that...its made for sudden drops in the water and thats mostly it!!hope i cleared ur mind
