Hey y'all, I apologize if this was covered elsewhere, but I did search and found no solution, so I'm posting here. I've got the problem other folks have, the WiFi is stuck "turning on". This began after the WiFi was having connectivity problems the other day, and I was refreshing it every so often to see if I could fix it. Now it's stuck in a "turning on" state that a factory wipe and two ROM/kernel combinations haven't fixed.
So I thought I'd try another tack. How do I force the WiFi into an "off" state. It seems to be stuck, and I've tried various ways to turn it off, such as widgets, power programs and the like, but nothing has held. I'm wondering, therefore, if there's another app I'm missing, or maybe I have to go into the terminal to do it, I'm not sure.
If, therefore, someone can tell me how to force the WiFi state on my phone to be switched to off, that would be amazing. Thanks so much for your time!

After rebooting my phone earlier today my wi-fi has been stuck on, yet shows as off in QuickMenu and Comm Mgr. Any attempt to "turn on" the switches fail, even turn off option in wi-fi set up dialog does nothing. Can anyone help me?
EDIT: I also noticed now that any command to reboot the phone, along with standby (yes, even my top button), and power off commands are not working either.
EDIT2: It also now seems the screen will not rotate when the keyboard is slid out. I'm beginning to think my only option is to do a hard reset, and I'd REALLY rather avoid that...
EDIT3: AND it thinks it's charging...
EDIT4: Also all of my buttons don't work...
thats weird
my touch pro is doing just the opposite..... i can't turn off the wifi, the "switch" is grayed out to the point that it will not let me turn it off
wierd, does a soft reset not work? Never seen that before...
Have you altered anything recently or added an app that could be causing compatibilty issues?
I have got Amaze last week, but there are two main problems with this device.
First, the "power off" button doesn't work sometimes, no responses when I long press the button.
Second, after installing some apps(about 60), wifi has some problem---when the
screen off and I open again, the wifi is automatically cut off. Even though there is a wifi "label" on top of the screen, I can't browse internet. Then I manually cut off the wifi and connect again, it works. But everytime the screen closes( u know, it is unwise to keep the screen always on), the wifi will be cut off automatically. I don't know the reason. I have changed a new one this week but same problems arise!!! I am driven crazy!!! Could sb nice to help me????
besides, I have tried "factory reset", and problems will go. but when I install apps again, problem rises again...
have you tried changing the settings for wifi to never sleep?
I have identified the culprit, but I have not been able to find a solution.
As I said, my screen will not timeout. I have to manually hit the lock button to turn the screen off. Also, the softkeys stay lit. I started going through app settings, etc. No luck. I began to notice after reboots and battery pulls that it only started occuring after I entered mode (*#0011#) to fix the wifi disconnect issue.
After doing that, the screen will no longer timeout. So, at this point, I either have to deal with wifi turning off and on randomly, or a screen that won't go dark on its own.
Can anyone help?
After months of running the same radios and roms, my wife's thunderbolt and my thunderbolt started restarting, sometimes getting past the booting screens and sometimes not. I'm guessing the towers/network can change and have issues with a working phone way after. I tried a lot of combinations of the radios and roms with no luck. I live in a 3g only area. I ended up getting the phone to boot far enough to turn on airplane mode before a restart after an hour of constant restarts on loading screens. After getting airplane mode turned on the reboots stopped. I ended up turning airplane mode off and was able to get into LTE On/Off and switch it to CDMA Only and the restarts stopped.
Since I did that I have turned LTE back on to see if restarts would happen again, and have not had another restart since. So if you are getting random restarts instead of changing your rom/radio try turning on airplane mode and if it fixes it. If it does it may be some problem with the network or tower. Going through different options in the Phone Info screen you may be able to find what signal(3g,4g, and so forth) may be causing the reboots. Dunno if this information will help anyone or not or if anyone knows what they might change for a few days that would cause LTE to bootloop/random restart a phone and then suddenly stop days later.
Hey there all,
I recently purchased the ZTE Majesty from StraightTalk, and I honestly couldn't be happier, great phone, great company, etc... However, one thing I have noticed is that when I go to turn my phone off, instead of the "Power off" option actually shutting down the phone, it puts it into some sort of hibernation mode. I've been unable to find a way to turn this off (I've Googled, tested, tried, factory reset, pushed, prodded and called to no avail), so I thought I'd turn to xda with my problem. I've included a screenshot of my power menu, in hopes it'll jog somebody's memory, or help me turn this damn thing completely off, as hibernation uses battery. Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks,
Rexen
