I am using an app to control devices but I do not want to charge it all the time. Do you know how to enable/disable charging while on USB?

Hello guys,
I bought my Moto G (Indian, Dual Sim with Kitkat out-of-the-box) couple of days back.
So here are few issues:
1) While I connected it to wall charger, there's no charging animation showed even though its charging. Is it like that with everyone?
2) It doesn't get charged while I connect it through USB to my Windows 7 PC. Normal?
3) It gets connected only as MTP. No Mass Storage Device option in the USB Connection. And it doesn't let me copy folders. Only individual files. Anyone else?
Thanks for your replies.
1) There is no charging animation but only a flashing sign over battery.
2) Connecting via usb to pc charges the phone same as wall charger but also offers option such as mtp and stuffs..
3) No usb mass storage option instead mtp is activated by default. Yes i can transfer folders too.

Hello all,
To put it simple:
1. I buy oneplus power bank
2. Charge it with my original opo cable and charger
3. My oneplus didnt recognized as storage when connected to PC yet it is shown in charging state.
What I have tried:
1. enable disable usb debugging
2. select usb connection mode (mtp or charging or pnp) but it is not available
3. Recognized as storage using other cable data which havent been used to charged the power bank.
My question is : is it normal that your data cable will broken as soon as you use it as power bank's charging cable?
Nope, I think that's virtually impossible, have you tried using other cable to connect your phone with the PC?
Can anyone tell me if fastcharge when enabled at boot on the N5, fast charges straight away when the USB cable is left plugged in during phone boot up. ie: if you power the phone from off when plugged in to USB, does it fast charge immediately or do you need to unplug and replug the USB cable? I want to buy one to use in a car environment, but don't have access to power button or USB connection....
Many Thanks
James
I am using a usb tethering app for Internet access between 2 phones, and my host phone's battery rapidly drains through the usb connection.
I tried an app to disable charging the other phone and this disconnected the data.
From my search I understand android requires voltage in the usb cable to make a data connection. Seems to discharge at 500 mA by default.
Is there a way to stop or reduce the discharge to a minimum, just enough to maintain data connectivity? An app or magisk or xposed module? Some terminal commands? Both devices have root access.
I have also tried usb ethernet connectivity which also causes a similar rapid draining of the host device battery.

Verizon Pixel 4a running Android 11
I have a powered hub that uses a 5V 3.6 power adapter. There are three devices connected to the hub via USB A connectors - midi keyboard, audio interface and midi controller. If the hub is connected to power and I plug the OTG cable in the Pixel 4a goes into charging mode and the devices connected don't communicate via USB. If I disconnect the hub's power adapter and then plug in the OTG cable the devices communicate. The draw at the point with the screen on according to Ampere is 550mah. If I then plug in the power adapter it drops to about 180mah with the screen set to lower brightness.
I have two questions regarding this setup:
1. Is there any way to have USB communication and charge the phone at the same time?
2. Is there a way to programmatically control whether the phone is charging or communicating over OTG using an app or Tasker?
Thanks,
