Well, i have a problem with my device
it was returned from Sony Xperia Center, about 3 week ago
and i had news that sony released their kitkat upgrade for this device
so i upgrade it and so far i don't have any problem
started from Wednesday night (UTC+7), i found a dead pixel on my black color (and about 8 bright pixel) when i'm driving at night
so, my question is
• it's caused by kitkat upgrade?
• or it's caused by my tft screen? broken screen? but really it returned 3 week ago and then it got broken again (?)
• or it's caused by my tempered glass, because i never use it before, it's probably caused by tempered glass pressed too hard to my screen during installation?
thanks for your answer, hopefully Sony revolutionized the performance of their service center in Indonesia. I'm no longer have enough time for waiting my handheld on Xperia Care

Hi. I have a Sony Xperia M2 Aqua, which is supposedly a waterproof phone.
However...
A couple of days ago, my phone got an accidental contact with water for a couple of seconds (4-5 maybe) -
completely submerged - and then both the loudspeaker and the ear speaker lost much of their volume and just
sounded very faded and fuzzed out...
This lasted for a approx. day... the next day my phone was back to normal by itself.
My question is: is this situation 'normal' for a waterproof phone? How does this phone really handle water?
Can anyone tell me? Or should I go ask for a refund on basis of false advertising and features?
Tell me your 'watery' situations with the Xperia M2 Aqua - if you had any and how it was like. Thank you for the support.

It'a normal for all waterproof phones. My dad's Z2 is also like that.
The M2 Aqua is IP68 certified. That means it should be completely dust tight and indefinitely resist immersions beyond 1m:

This if it is sealed, though (all flaps closed tight). If anything was open it has probably got wet and started to work again after it dried up internally.
Thank you all for the feedback.
One last question: if it ever happened for the phone to become damaged by water
while having all its ports waterproofed, does the warranty cover the repairs?
Or should I not expect any support or refund?
[EDIT] Miche1asso, all ports were sealed. Only the loudspeaker and the earspeaker got fuzzed
as I mentioned up above.
My phone is a legit Xperia Z3 last month I bought it. And when i came home I tried to pour a glass of water on my phone and after a few minutes the screen died. I sent it to the sony centre and after two weeks they fixed it. It was going so well good as new an I'm still brave enough to try it's water ressistant feature. I washed it and nothing happened I now guarantee that this phone is water-ressistant. But last week i checked my camera and I noticed there's a little water particle or a blurry watery little part in my camera until now. What should I do? I moved last week to Philippines but the warantee is not international it's only in New Zealand. What should I do?
Hi, welcome to XDA Assist.
Sorry to hear that you have issues with your camera.
Try asking in the help section for your device here
Maybe other Z3 users can provide a fix.
Good luck.
Hey,
So as best to my knowledge i believe we get 2 years warranty which is supported by my Sony Account in which they say the warranty expires on 29/10/2016
So i've noticed a issue which i took lightly however it's gotten worse and beginning to bother me in which there's a light spot on the screen, Usually noticeable on Black/White backgrounds, I've attached an image of the issues, i was wondering will sony replace it or not?
EDIT: The device has been dropped once or twice, however this was around a year before this issue began occuring.
I am having my phone for 8 months now and few days ago I started to notice burns on the upper sides of the display. It is easiest to notice it on white screen even still they are not so obvious but noticeable if you look carefully. So does anyone else have the same problems and is it covered with warranty from HTC coz I bought phone over HTC official site?

+1 i got same thing since one week after used my phone for 9 month !!!! i went htc they said need to replace phone screen also there is no warranty for it ??
Same problem here.. Since I bought the phone online from HK and I am in the Middle East, the warranty is not covered. Such a bummer!
Guess I have to look for after market replacement screens.
Let me know if you find any solution.
This is the ips bleed thingy tons of u11 got, unfortunately it's very frequent with ips panels and many brands don't consider this as a fault unless its too big
Hey,
I just ordered a new, tested screen replacement for my Sony XZS and after 3 weeks it finally arrived. I disconnected the old, broken one (which still works) to plug the new, fancy one in. The cable isn't broken on it yet, it's straight, which will be an issue later once I install it fully, I am only at the testing phase for now.
The blacklight is shining with a beautiful, bright white color, but the LCD does not show a single color.
Plugging the old, broken one gets me back to the previous state where I see colors just fine!
Does anybody have some tips? Can it be that the phone has some kind of firmware level protection against 3rd party accessories like an LCD panel?
Thank you very much in advance!
