Sony XZS phone no display with new screen - Sony Xperia XZs Questions & Answers

Hey,
I just ordered a new, tested screen replacement for my Sony XZS and after 3 weeks it finally arrived. I disconnected the old, broken one (which still works) to plug the new, fancy one in. The cable isn't broken on it yet, it's straight, which will be an issue later once I install it fully, I am only at the testing phase for now.
The blacklight is shining with a beautiful, bright white color, but the LCD does not show a single color.
Plugging the old, broken one gets me back to the previous state where I see colors just fine!
Does anybody have some tips? Can it be that the phone has some kind of firmware level protection against 3rd party accessories like an LCD panel?
Thank you very much in advance!

cracked my screen....

So year i dropped my phone in the bathroom and cracked the screen and now i can only see a tiny portion of the screen. Considering i also have the newton ring on my phone i think its time for a new lcd and digitizer. Would someone with experience in this area take a look at the following link and let me know if this is all i need for a replacement.

You didnt say what phone you have!
If you have a Touch Pro then it looks right - i believe the fuze screen is slightly different (no front camera) so if you use this screen on the fuze you may see something through the camera lens.
I replaced mi display , it took me 2 hours to do it, but finally it worked fine. The only issue was the new display has a different color, the digitizer just worked perfect, even better than new, but the color is different, now the colors are less vivid and less brighter, I will try to adjust the display color settings, I will do it tonight.
oh wow good eye didnt even notice that. i guess ill go with this one i just found.

hey GussMiami, do you DIY your screen replacement?
I would like to replace my LCD by myself, but I do not know how to do it,,, tried to youtube it with 'replace touch pro lcd screen' or some thing like that but came up nothing.
tq before,,,
ps: if I have blue spots on my screen, is it some kind of dead pixels?
Xue v.2 there are a couple of guides around on replacing the screen http://www.att-phones.org/att-htc-fuze-user-manual.html
I ordered a new Digitizer and LCD for my Fuze yesterday as mine is somewhat scratched up, the job does not look particularly easy, at the moment I am debating finding someone else to do it for me vs possibly wrecking my phone doing it myself, from what I have read the hardest part is making sure not to break any cables/wires (commonly I see people breaking the speaker wires).
oh thank you naiku,
well, I think I will buy the lcd+digitizer for 30usd from ebay and have htc care to replace it for me,,,
plus I need to fix the keyboard as well. Let the pro doing the fix LoL

[Q] Damaged display

On my almost 3 years old I had "oily stain" - obviously from wearing in pocket of my jeans. Pressure on display causes this problem. I dismantled phone and by aplying pressure on corners get rid of stain(done this once, it help for some time). But after powering up the phone, display was dark and with some strange colors(purple, pink...). I think I fu*ked up some of the flex cables with display signal or display itself, display doesnt look cracked and I am convinced that its not issue of backlight. Question is: Did someone saw this problem? Do you think that buying a new display from eBay(~$20) worth it? I am going to buy HD2(Leo) soon.. I tried to take photo but my camera cannot take that dark picture...
it seems display is damaged i took of whole display unit. Gonna buy new LCD sell it on ebay and buy HD2
Have the same problem on my touch pro after changing the screen. Dark display with some colored stripes that changes after i press some buttons or play a little with the touchscreen. I've tried to reconnect everything, play a little with the flex cables applying coductive tape etc. but no change. The LCD seems fine.
I have created threads regarding my problem at differrent forums but noone seem to know the cause or a solution.
Your problems are probably caused by a defective of flex.

Hi everyone
I washed my smartphone in washing machine a month ago. It was 5 days in rice then i took it to service. They cleaned it a i get mobile back with damaged display, which is green all time and touch doesnt work too. Everything works ok except screen. i connected mouse to the device and chcecked it. And now i have chance to buy a new display with good price. What do you think, is the display only damaged thing or it could some other parts?

[Q] What are those *black* spots in the screen?

Hello guys!
Since 28th of April i got a new Samsung S6 and was quite happy about it
It's 10th of May now and i'm holding my third device allready :silly:
- My first device had a charger that coiled whined like crazy when the battery reached 85 %. Besides that it also had the well known Flash-Bug.
- My second device was almost perfect but also had the Flash-Bug, but ok i was like f*k it will wait for Samsung to bring out a fix. I don't want to drive up en down to the store for this issue.
In mean time i ordered some screenprotectors and they were delivered and ready to be applied, but here comes my problem:
I layed down my phone in the position to clean it and apply the screenprotector ( with table lamp shining on it to see the dirt ) and there they were... the black dots. I have never noticed them before, and i have to admit i tested the screen with Dead Pixel Test, LCD test and with *#0*# telephone cmd. Everything looks fine and so far i didn't spotted any dead pixels ,,, i guess
I called up my store and they told me to bring the phone back and get a new one. I got a third device and this one also have these black dots in the screen, but a lot less of them then my second device.
It's not that i cant use my phone properly, and those dots don't affect anything atm, it's just i know they are there and i don't know if it's good or bad.
So my questions are: What are those? Will they affect the screen after using this phone for few months/years? Or is it something that everyone have but didn't noticed them yet ? Should i return it for the fourth time or accept it?
Samsung S6 128 GB
Made in Vietnam ( 3x)
Manufacturing Date: 20150418
Thanks in advance!

orange / yellow tint on left side of screen z3

For the 2nd time now on my xperia z3 I have an orange / yellow tint on the left side of the screen. It's almost parallel with magnetic charging port which was the same place as last time. Getting it repaired last was a nightmare. Although Sony were quick to accept for repair they send to 3rd who took over to fix and sent back phone in worse condition with speakers and phone back together all loose and creaky. They took back and another week later I got back again good as new.
It's a shame I really like this phone.
Anyone know what could cause this? Self diagnostics on phone says it's all good
Can't really be without a phone for another week

i have exactly the same but not from the very beginning, now after some months.
did you found any solution?
thanks
Sony replaced the phone after 2nd time and it's just done it again. I'm escalating with Sony as this is 3 times in 12 months with 2 different phones.
I use a case mate clear and notice this is the only part the case doesn't cover.
If you press on the frame where the orange is it transfers to screen which leads me to believe the frame is weak there. Once I get it fixed I'm changing cases to a ringke. The official Sony case completely covers that side so think it must be linked.
What cases are you using?
