I am looking for a download manager for my Nexus 5 Phone running on Mahdi ROM and Code Blue Kernel. When I download file from Chrome and/or mozila the file is downloaded at very slow speed. So, is there any download manager (Best Ones), which I can use to download files. Most of the times the files are ROMS (Zips) and/or MP3 songs. I did tried all Download Managers in Play Store, but none of them is good and are very-very complex.

Download managers won't magically increase your download speed. Don't even bother.
But, I have seen the increase in speed when I manually Copy and Paste the link in some of the available download managers. So, some magic is there for sure.

A "download manager" is nothing more than something that manages downloads, it isn't going to really affect your download speed in any way. If your connection has a certain download speed, nothing will increase that. No such magic.

I use ADM. Works fine for me. I prefer this to the stock downloader.
Hope this helps!
As @Lethargy said download managers do not increase your DL Speed. Download Managers only provide a better interface to sort active downloads find previously downloaded files. That's all. I suggest you do a speed test to really make sure the speed at which you download files match your actual speed. You could be experiencing network congestion. Also if you are downloading from a free file hosting site it probably throttles your speed to promote it's premium service. Btw Don't ever buy into one of these. There are plenty of free alternatives that don't have any limitations like Mediafire
Only reason I use a download manager is coz I can pause and resume a download

Some custom ROMs have that function added to the AOSP DownloadProvider (commit is usually taken from CM).

THIS IS A DMA WIFI HERO BUILD:
Thanks goto addisu and dzo for getting a working Wifi module and all the hard working developers who get Android ported to the various devices.
Thanks to JAC for making the base rom (JACHeroski1.6)
This pack was tested and worked before uploading!
Directions:
0) If you have a data.img delete it first!
1) Copy all files from "Required" to the root of your memory card. I recommend at-least a 512mb.
2) Launch haret and click "Run"
2.1) You will need to wait for the data.img (data store) to be created, this takes around 2 minutes. This stores your files.
3) It takes sometime to get to the setup screen. If the screen turns off, just turn it back on. It will come up.
4) Go through the intro of Android (you only do this once)
The first 3 steps get you into Android
The following gets you Wifi (Kaiser/Tilt only)
* In this build, you can now select your WiFi in the setup.
In side Android:
1) Bring the menu up
2) Goto settings
3) Go to Settings -> Wireless Controls then click "Wi-fi" wait until there is a check
4) Select your network under Wi-Fi Settings
6) Make sure you save your "calibration" file and keep a copy of it save so you can just move it to future builds.
House cleaning:
I did not develop any of this kit, I simply put the pieces together and made them available in an easy to use package.
If you need any help please leave a comment in the forum!
To setup APN you must configure it, this can be found on the Android Vogue Wiki( http://code.google.com/p/vogue-android/wikii/HowToInstall )

Well, the previous one is not for strictly a build, its more for the wikis and stuff. This thread is strictly for downloading a complete package.
cool, I'll bite!
Trying to follow the steps when i type "su"
i get "uid 10027 not allowed to su" , I did a search for this phrase and the only hit i got was the same error, but person asking was ignored.
Any ideas on how to get around this?
I'm running on a Tilt.
Thanks !!
Excellent, any mirror not from rapid or mega?, my network has the storage web filter , a FTP mirror will be great!
Thanks in advance,

So the hero zip file is a rom? and if so can you flash it to a kaiser ?
keep it up...
if its like HTC HERO, it would be nice
Thanks natalic, it works.
Some additional points:
1) Ensure you're getting the file from the rapidshare link. I tried the latest build from the project site (android-1.5-2009-08-04.zip) and I never managed to extract the calibration file
2) There's a hero build here (http://drop.io/calibrationfiles) but I would suggest to get the calibration file out 1st before trying the hero build. It seems that you wont be able to access the terminal easily from Hero builds... (Maybe it's just me)
What works and not in the Android build (non-hero):-
1) Browser works
2) Market works
3) Google Sync works
4) Google maps does not work

yes it is, android is starting to need a forum all to itself, or you can look at it like this if the android threads are builds from diff "android chefs" then it would be no different than multiple rom threads for diff chefs or diff wm versions.
Heres my working repack. Enjoy

Wifi is working great, Tested on an AT&T tilt with no SIM card inserted. Was able to connect to the internet, download from the market, etc.
How do I get SIM to work and get the phone signal?

Same goes here.
I am now using HERO UI with a calibration file extracted from the standard build. Apps are not being downloaded... Google maps also not working... (Always Force Close)
Paradox: You forgot to mention about rebooting the phone after running getrom.txt as per your instruction in the zip file.

Is it reasonably responsive on your kaiser? I tried one build of it today, and it was awful. I mean all the features are cool, but no amount of features can replace responsivness...

The Hero UI works. Its just not that fast. I can vouch for that. I dont know how he has wifi working on it. I could have sworn the driver had to be cooked into the system.img
Why use a crappy website to host your ROM when you can create a .torrent from it instead and allow it to be seeded by numerous sources so it stays active?
Here is how I create .torrent files with Windows...
1) Download and install the 2.0.3 version of uTorrent.
2) Open uTorrent after it installs and set it up. I would recommend NOT updating to the latest version.
3) Click the icon with the magic wand on it to create a .torrent.
4) I would suggest creating a folder with the name of your ROM then place the ROM .zip into that folder.
5) Click on the ADD DIRECTORY button and select the folder you created with the ROM .zip in it.
6) Use these trackers with line breaks between them...
udp://tracker.ccc.de:80
udp://tracker.istole.it:80
udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80
udp://tracker.publicbt.com:80
7) Click the CREATE AND SAVE AS... button and name the .torrent preferably with the folder name you used.
8) Leave your uTorrent on so you (Seed) can share your ROM with people (Peers). It is nice if those peers leave their .torrent program on so they can seed as well. The more seeders the better!
9) Upload the .torrent file of your ROM to some website and post the link to the .torrent in your ROM post.
Now people can download it with whatever .torrent program they use and get it on their phone.
Attached are a couple of .torrents to get either Liquid or RedHead for the Droid Bionic...

I think torrents are a great options they really are!
The developers would only have to post the torrent for the newest version, it would take no more work then uploading it to a site and posting

Fragmentation is not an issue especially when the user's torrent client is set to pre-allocate space. Users with older versions of the ROM would hopefully be wise enough to figure out the developer has released a newer version especially if the user is smart enough to check the official ROM thread for updates and the developer takes the few seconds of time needed to update the link/attachment for the torrent.

EXACTLY! And with hopefully hundreds of users sharing the ROM via torrent, the ROM will never be unavailable due to website problems.
Having the ROM on torrent would be so much more helpful in downloading. Everyone would be able to seed it =P
So I visited just about every thread on XDA and on AndroidForums and I could not find anything.
KitKat doesn't come with the Adobe Flash Player API's, however a while ago I heard something about someone making a flashable .zip containing the API's. Can I grab the API's from Jelly Bean and just paste them into whatever folder they would go in? If so, what files?

You can't create a flashable zip and sideload them. Google Chrome will never support flash plugins or applets.
Only browsers like Dolphin or UC would support them.
For those browsers to support flash, Download here:

I thought that KitKat was missing API's to even run anything Flash related. I also read in an updated version of Dolphin there was an error message saying that the feature was disabled because Android no longer supported Flash.

Hello, before I begin I just want to state I thought of this idea to try and do something like this WITHOUT breaking Google Play Movies or rooting I was never able to figure out how to do it though after the 5.1.1 on the Galaxy S6 and when the Note 5 came out however I just thought of a different way to do it and I am bringing you my custom tar file that essentially "converts" the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 5 into a Galaxy S6 Edge+. Of course it doesn't do anything to the device physically. However this should give you all the S6 Edge+ features, by that I mean the edge screen features.
Thank you @durpflip for all your help!
I am NOT responsible for anything that happens to your device you are choosing to make these modifications to your device!
Bugs:
Saved WiFi networks are forgotten after every reboot.
Tell me if you find another one!
Once again this does NOT break Google Play Movies and is based off of the T-Mobile S6 edge+ and should only be flashed on the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 5. I understand you could just flash a ROM that does this already but have you tried watching something on google play movies with those? It doesn't work and it hasn't worked since the 5.1.1 update on the Galaxy S6 and when the Note 5 came out. This is a solution to that, with this Google Play Movies works no problem.
Step 1: Download the custom tar file from HERE
Step 2: Open Odin (I attached Odin to the thread see the bottom)
Step 3: Turn off your Note 5 and hold Volume down plus power and home at the same time.
Step 4: Press volume up when you get to the light blue screen to continue.
Step 5: Plug your phone into the computer and select "AP", in Odin and then find the custom .tar file you downloaded.
Step 6: Click start and make sure re-partition is not selected.
Step 7: Your phone should reboot when it is done.
Can someone please test if this trips KNOX I am not sure because I already had tripped KNOX when I tested it. It shouldn't trip KNOX but that is just me assuming things, I am not sure at ALL.
Don't blame me if it does trip KNOX if it doesn't trip KNOX that's awesome please tell me if so.
Is there a file to download? And I assume you have tried this yourself and it works right? What exactly is being flashed? is it the full S6+ Rom? If so - this is very dangerous as it would also include the MODEM right? If the modem is included in the file you flash in ODIN, it sounds like it would be an extremely dangerous thing to do - but hey - I don't know everything -
So is there a file to down load and please let me know if this includes the full rom for the S6+ including the modem, kernel - etc.
Thanks

Yeah there is a file I am working on getting it uploaded currently at 90%
Modem, kernel, etc taken from the Note 5 and tested on my own phone.
What about s-pen features? Are they there?
Adding the link now finishing up still at 99%...
EDIT: Finished! I added the link under "HERE" in the OP try it out!
I already tested it by the way.

as far as i know,s-pen features are stored in one APK file. thus you could back up s-pen features via root privileges on a stock TW note and install them on the S6+ based ROM ethanscooter provides.
this is confirmed to work on my daily driver note 3,however i only owned the note 5 for a limited amount of time as i didn't find it to my tastes and therefore sold it.

This is what you can do to fix the WiFi passwords being forgotten after every reboot, a little bit useless because rooting breaks google play movies which is what the whole point of this is.

I tried both methods the one by you and the person above you, it does not work on the latest google play services as it shows a black screen but works on downgraded google play services.
You would have experienced download failures at least once in your life.
Now I have a solution for this: HTTP Downloader, a free android app on Google play. It is an innovative solution for almost all problems that comes along with downloads.
As a recent release you will need to search Continue failed download on google play to locate the app
How it works
It can be used to request your download from any specified byte offset & up to any byte limit. This has got several advantages
1) Continue expired download links: You can request download from where you stopped. i.e. if you were downloading a file of 5.2GB and download failed at 4.9GB, you can download remaining 0.3GB using a fresh download link.
2) Continue failed download from other apps (like chrome): Even if you were downloading file on your PC, and download fails at 97%, you can download remaining 3% using HTTP Downloader on your phone. These file parts can be joined using File Joiner available on their tutorials page for free. It also houses inbuilt file joiner.
3) Overcome storage limit: Even if your internal storage is limited to 3GB and you were downloading 5GB file, you can download it as two 2.5GB parts. Download first one, transfer to PC, download other, join them. Yeay....
4) Overcome high speed quata limits: If your daily high speed data is limited to 3GB, you can download 2.5GB today, and remaining yesterday. You need not worry about download failures and link expiry.
5) Download using multiple devices: You can download first 2.5GB using one device and remaining 2.7GB from another parallelly for higher speed download. You can later join these files to get the actual file.
6) Request using custom headers & view response: This can be used as an advanced network vulnerability checking tool as you can request using custom HTTP Headers and view how server responds.
Have a try. I am sure you will like it.
Looks like awesome app. downloaded from play store.. Will sure right review after using it for a while
Edit:As soon as i start downloading it starts to lag. Then app not responding pop up come.I am on Pie
