After much messing about we have Modern Combat 5 & MOGA controller working with limited lag. The secret is to remove any additional helper apps you have installed for the Moga, remove the controller from Pivot and resync as B MODE.
Then start Modern Combat 5 and set your Sensitivity to 100% and Aim Sensitivity to 75% (Thanks bradleyg5 for the settings)
It's not perfect but it's considerably better than A mode and is close to playable with only a slight slugish feeling, also gone is the Iron site bug which is great and makes it much more playable.

It won't work with the pocket, as it has no b mode nor could I even get any input from it in game whatsoever. Just a warning unless someone has a solution. The Pocket seems not to work with MC5.

You can get it to work with the Universal MOGA Driver. But the problem is that the pocket has only one row of back buttons for example you can't shoot because there is no button on the moga for So we have to wait until a proper support from gameloft comes...

My moga universal driver app crashes when I hit the enable driver button, on my galaxy s5
please take no offense but i feel like your fix is more of a semi functional work around that should be obvious to most people right away
when i saw the game was out, i bought it and immediately began looking for my moga pro. i saw that the phone recognized the moga in "a" mode, but the mc5 app didnt detect it, so i flipped the mode to off and then to "b" and once again the os saw the controller, but this time mc5 recognized the controller and so i was happy until i noticed how slow/low sensitivity was.
i cranked up the sensitivity to 100%, but it still is about 30% too slow for my liking.
a true fix/solution would be to get the controller working whether its in moga's mode, that appears to be loosing support, but this could be slow too, or getting hid mode to work with a acceptable output/input.
i wonder is there is someway to adjust the hid joystick sensitivity. im guessing with 6axis or what ever its called probably works beautifully since its touch emulation with tons of tweaks, realizing that the on screen thumb sticks are fast enough as is.
Thanks worked great

There is an app for touch emulation. But still not playable It's called Game Controller 2 Touch.
What makes it Unplayable? Seems like mc5 wouldn't even know it's I/O was being spoofed, let alone care?
I'm going to some reading on that app you pointed out. If it works the way I envision it i will be tossing some coin towards the dev. Thanks

Still a tad bit laggy. May need to switch to my PS3 controller and use the touch emulation for now.

ok, so i bought the app and i have been messing around with for 3 days and i still dont have it working, the dev points towards 2 issues, one being kernel permissive issues and another problem with knox. i tried 2 of the 3 fixes and i cant get it, but i also dont know what i am doing. i emailed the dev last night so we will see what happens. i will try to report back.

The Six axis app does work pretty well. Not lag in the inputs, but the need for proper HID implementation would be better. Or at least release the updated for A mode on the Moga Pro.
I know the thread is nearly dead but I have a question. Has anyone been able to use touch emulation with MC5 and a MOGA Pro? Every app I've tried won't register touch emu for my MOGA, MC5 just continues registering the controller as input. I want to use touch emu because the sticks are god awful for aiming with such low sensitivity. And yes, ivebgot it set to 100%. Any help please?
How to turn 180 degrees, i am new to this
I have a problem with moga pro wont recognisw my controller it works on the begining you chooae multiplayer and as soon as the game starts ir wont respond its on b mode and the controller works with other emulators so its not a hardware problem does any one know why

is anyone using wiimote for playing snes and psx games? if so how do you get it to work? i have the emulators and games installed, i have wiimote installed and bluetooth on. the wiimote is connected within the wiimote app but then when i exit the app it no longer does anything. i just can't get the controller to work in the game.
edit: figured it out, just had to map the keys within the emulator/game
Based on the lack of responses, my guess is gtablet users are not too much of gamers... Also the fact that there are not too many "past a few day" Gtablet owners
I could not get the Wiimote app to see my Wiimote. Bluetooth was on, of course. No fun retro gaming this device was born to provide, it seems. The v-pad for games is too awkward due to display size, device weight and response of the tablet in the corners (where the controls are- is not very responsive).
I was pumped due to the performance, but you are right that controls are not too good..... Need Wiimote to work. I naturally figured it would work, but given some of the other issues, I may be assuming too much.
I probably will return the Gtablet this weekend and wait for a refurb. $400 is too much with screwed up sensor and controller functions not working via blutetooth. $300 is more of a compromise
I get the impression NOTHING was tested on this device. Nothing appears to really work other than USB sticks and even those can not be hotswapped. "USB" must have some other meaning for the OEM of this device.
Even USB keyboards and mice work with the Archos devices. All this power constrained by pi55poor FW.
on zpad the wiimote works great, i got a usb keyboard working too. i really wish someone smarter than me could figure out how we can select other keyboards. anybody?

You're not using TnT 2.0 then (or did they used to work?)? I have tried USB devices with no luck. Ditto on bluetooth input control devices.
You think the keyboard is the root cause for failure on Gtablet in TnT based roms?
I can not even get the Gtablet to see the Wiimote, yet alone map it to work.

usb keyboard worked for me on tnt lite 1.0.2(i'm poretty sure theres a small chance it was zpad). on tnt i can install wiimote, the app will see the wiimote but i can't choose wiimote as my default input because tnt will stay on the tnt stock keyboard. so if there were just a way to choose another keyboard as default it'd be all good. this guy found where the problem may be http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9394102&postcount=3.

A huge reason for this device is old school gaming. No wiimote- no keep (At full price. Better gamble if will get fixed by paying less money).
Seems a fair analogy is the Gtablet has a Ferrari engine, but no tires (laggy UI).... or steering wheel (accelerometer flucked' up), or lights (LCD appears to be mounted upside down due to bad viewing angles).
I could throw in more car analogies about USB and blue tooth issues, but already a rough ride.
After installing zpad it is getting better. I have the device tweeked to the point I like it.. gotta factory restore right now though to get an exchange because of the screen.. one that is done though I think I,can really get used to this.. gotta get flash working though..

I am going to return mine and get another one with the 60 day holiday return policy. That way, plenty of time to see if a fix is provided and more vulture time for a refurb- While still able to use the G for other stuff
Who knows, the 101 may be better than expected with 2.2........ VS better fix the frickin' bluetooth function on the Gtablet!
There is a way to get the Wiimote activated on TnT Lite - it would require replacing the Settings.apk from the zPad, Nvidia dev kit or even the Vega.
But, there are issues. The ones I've noticed is that the new Settings.apk cannot change the brightness controls, and that new widgets cannot be created on the homescreen after the change - and this is why I leave the TnT Settings.apk in the Lite Build.

Catch 22
Returned my G yesterday. I will get another one with the 60 day return window for holiday purchases... and hopefully a refurb to boot
Need a controller to work or this device for me is a comic reader and web surfer. The Archos 101 will cover that and games.... just not PSX too well, but at least controllers work with the 101.
Perhaps we will see a stable FW build where everything works (not CM)- including things broken by Viewsonic's apparently semi-clueless OEM dev team.
I like how the Gtablet maps apps (that force data to microsd) to go the internal space, so that frees up the microsd for other things. Seems Archos has corrected the app space issue on their Gen 8s, but may have went from one extreme to another. They may have mapped ALL of the 8gb and 16gb for apps. This would mean a lot of wasted space, since 3gb is about max needed fro apps, since all larger apps force data to the microsd anyways.
If Archos mapped as reported, there is about 4.5gb wasted space on the 8gb and 12.5 on the 16gb. Ironic- that they may have gone from one extreme to another. Droid X maps this way too. Wasted space.
Just wondering if it's doable. Obviously some games would lend themselves better to it than others, and I'm sure online gaming is out of the question.
Still, it intrigues me. So does anyone have any experiences?
tried playing skyrim over Splashtop. was funky. cant see anything if i run or get the horse to gallop. and i had the worst luck... an elder dragon popped up and pwned my ass to oblivion
Why do you think that was? Was it network related (Were you playing it on a local network or was it over the internet?) or do you think the speed of the tablet was what was holding it back.
I've got a preorder for the Prime and, while I've never been on this forum before, common sense tells me y'all might be a little tired of all the Prime threads on the TF101 forum. That aside, Skyrim was basically what I was after, I just didn't want to be greedy and say it outright. That's not to say there aren't a fair amount of other games I'd like to try as well.
well no mater how fast your tab or laptop is there is a slight lag when i comes to high res pictures while remoting. and the key is that even if you are using cable on your pc, your tab is on wireless and most of the time wireless has a lower transmission rate then cable *im using a cheap ass wireless router mind you*
I play City of Heroes via splashtop on my local network it's pretty responsive. The main issues are as follows:
Fulscreen doesn't work, but a maximised window does.
Controls are really tough to approximate using touch.
VNC will never be good enough IMHO, try Splashtop HD.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
I played NFS The Run (offline) using the docked tab and splashtop in my LAN, and everything was perfectly smooth and responsive at full screen.
Gotta try smth online, but I think that the lag would be too much :\
I've played torch light with splash top on a lan, it was very responsive but lacked enough input control to be fully effective, but on easy mode it is fun. The actually game is sharp and fluid, you just need a mouse and I hadn't set one up
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
I played WoW via splashtop a month ago. Ran an entire heroic from my transformer. Of course this is a novelty and isn't meant for prime time yet. (no pun intended)
I played WoW on mine (lowbie character) a few days ago using splashtop and worked well for just running around killing random animals on a quest. Had to modify my controls alittle bit in game because I was using TF only with no dock.
I got disconnected several times but it was playable enough to pass the time. I was at home, but tethered my TF to my VZW 4G service and my laptop was on my home internet, just to get a better test.
Cool. Sounds like there's been a good amount of you who've tried it with varying levels of success. I only plan on trying this with the dock and a mouse plugged in, so it sounds like a lot of the control issues would be alleviated.
Thanks!
Again, posting here since I don't seem to see anyone complaining about this, and I'm thinking if it's time to send my tablet to repair.
Whenever I play Gyro based games like Riptide GP or Busted (under-appreciated game btw, I recommend everyone to try this game, it's free! )...
I notice that my jetski or my ship bears left slightly.
So I downloaded Smart Tools, used the protractor, and confirmed that whenever I place my tab on a flat surface, I get a 5 degree offset to the left side. And that's what causing all my racing games to veer left.
I tried the in-app calibration option, but it only fixes it for that app. Once back to Riptide or Busted, my racers veer again.
(Edit: you may download the protractor only for free.)
Has anyone experienced this? or does anyone know of a fix?
"Bubble level" from Antoine something... Its available in the Market and is full-free.
This might be of use to you, as it has a sensor reset in its calibration settings.
I dont know if the in-app calibrator is device-specific or only in that particular
app, but I just tried its Reset feature, and it indeed does reset it. Give it a run
and let us know

Thanks for the suggestion omnius. Now, I didn't see a "reset" option, but I did see "calibrate". I tried to calibrate both orientation and accelerometer sensors, and they were fixed in the app, but when I go to Riptide GP, the 5 degree shift still seems to be there.
Do those G-sensor based games work fine on your A510?
When Im in the calibration settings, Ive got 3 options, Calibrate, Reset Sensor, Cancel
I cant see why reset aint available in your setup.. Hmm, I really dunno :-!
Have you had a check with other device info apps, just to confirm all sensors is reacting and available?.. Just an idea
Sent from my A510 using xda app-developers app
Again, thanks for the reply. Yes, I tried Smart Tools initially, and all sensors seem to be working. There's just that 5 degree shift in the protractor that's affecting my games.
And, that is very strange that you have a reset option and I don't... We're using this Bubble level app right?
That is indeed the same Im using.
You dont have that Reset button, as per this shot from my A510.?
Sent from my A510 using xda app-developers app
Thanks for attaching the thumbnail, I was looking for a reset button once I press the menu button on the upper right corner (feel free to laugh at my stupidity. lol.)
So I did try the reset button, unfortunately, it only resets the calibration in-app. Once I rest my device on a flat surface, I can again see the offset (because the calibration is gone), and when I try Riptide, I have a slight bearing to the right again.
So just to verify, when you press reset on your tab, does the green dot center up by itself? Or do you need to recalibrate it?
(My expected scenario is there should be no need to recalibrate. But if you also do, then I guess, I don't need to contact Acer support for this.)
I havent had that slide to a side that you do, yet, but would as a fellow racer be severely pissed if it happened.. :screwy:
But yes, it ligns up to center, as far as my kitchentable is straight, upon applying the Reset.
But not having that drift myself, I hardly know what else to advice you to try.
You might be able to digg up a hidden system intent, either Iconia or ICS specific, to fire up a real device sensor reset, thou so far I havent found any yet. But I'll let you know if I do

Update:
So I sent my tablet to local Acer Support last weekend, and after three days, they told me that my Gyro miscalibration issue is a mainboard issue. They're replacing the mainboard this afternoon since they just received the part today.
I'm half happy/sad that I did get a lemon tablet. But hey, hopefully, this ends well.
Update again:
After following up on the status of my tablet, it seems that replacing the motherboard did not resolve my issue. My ticket has been escalated and I am now being offered a new unit instead. I was asked to contact my retailer and provide my ticket number, since they've coordinated both with my retailer and my distributor already.
Will update this thread until I get a fully working tab.
To anyone reading this, wish me luck.
Just a quick update.
Got my new tablet from Acer service yesterday and my gyroscope is now perfectly levelled.
when i play high-quality games, sometimes the game will stuck and the screen flickered constantly. you can turn back to home screen, but the game need to be stopped.
i tried to update, or change change ROM version. now it's better, but the issue is still exist.

Since I see that you have the most problems with Asphalt 6 and Shadowgun, I'll install those over the weekend and report back.
I was able to try a few minutes of Shadowgun, Asphalt 6 and 7 over the weekend.
And the only time I get that screen flashing behavior is when I have a window on top of the game (i.e. Facebook login.) Other than that though, the game seems to be handling normally.
I did notice screen tearing in the background for Asphalt 6 and 7.
Also, I notice some gyroscope misbehavior at certain times in Asphalt 7's game. Which is what some commenters in the market also mention, so I'm not too worried with it. I might play Asphalt 6 more then.

Hello!
I have one question that I could not find answer on internet. I have note 10.1 and have been using BT keyboard - Canyon, and it has been working flawless with a bit disconnect here and there. But recently I have bought BT Mouse - HP and it works just great. But when they are both connected at same time they both misbehave a lot. If I use mouse my keyboard just dc and it won't respond unless I hit few keys and sometimes keyboard lags/button stuck like "dddddddd...." untill my mouse dc. When my mouse dc keyboard is fine once again and this apply to vise versa but with mouse it is not responded well like move around for 2s late...
So now my question is if there is any program or script that will help with this situation? I know tablets aren't made to be used as PC but on college my battery last for like 9-10 hours while others with laptops cant get 3-5 hours full writting. I can even play games and my battery wont be below 30% when I get home. I have rooted ofc and I am using android revolution HD 9.0 since it is most polished. I dont wanna go to other android stock roms cuzz s-pen does not work well. I do not use pen often but heck, if I have it I want it to work perfect.
I hope someone had similiar situation and had it fixed.
Cheers

I have found a way to help it. I bought external keyboard helper for 2€ and it works amazing now. I have also tryed Null keyboard which is free and it basicly just hides ur onscreen eyboard from appearing. Guess this was the problem.
I hope someone will also fix their issue with this 2 apps. Cheers
It's those devices. I have several BT Keyboards and Mice and they work perfectly together. There's no app that can really do anything about stuttering mice or duplicate letters, as the issue is in the RF layer of the BT protocol.
I checked the play store and no luck but does anyone happen to know of an app that I can use the S-pen as a mouse so I can point and click/tap from a distance?
Some of the Samsung apps can.
In settings search for "air actions"
Options vary depending on the app.
Universal spen mouse app

I found that on a Google search already. It isn't compatible with either the device itself or the version of Android on it. I have seen the air actions, but I'm looking specifically for something that will let me use it while my phone is several feet from my face and I'm basically using the pen as an air touchpad.

Unfortunately, the S Pen isn't designed to work as a mouse for than a centimeter from the screen. The proximity sensor on the screen is the limitation.

It's an older app. Saw it first years ago, had forgotten about it.
Yeah I don't think that's happening. Air moves doesn't work that detailed, the gyros sense gross movement not fine.
I find that feature annoying and don't use it on my N10+'s, maybe the newer spens are better at it.
I'm good with the bt remote and other display based tricks though.

I actually just plugged a mouse into the phone, and the cursor appeared and I was able to move the mouse and click with it. I didn't know that was even possible, but I do have a gyro mouse that I'm going to test out tomorrow. Thanks!

Yeap, that works. It's a pretty cool trick.
The only hitch is having something hanging out of the C port. If you could use the phone's built in bt to link up with the mouse that be cool. Sounds like it should be possible but never heard of that being done that I can recall. However I haven't looked into it.
I'm still learning tricks that my N10+/Pie can do

Yeah it's a really nice feature. Honestly, my use case is so niche anyway. I tend to get a lot of massages(better than drinking or gambling, right?) but work from home and do so during work hours. So when I lay on the table, I can now put my phone on the ground and use an air mouse to continue to work

You got wireless Dex too.
Cigars beat booze. Trying out some pipe smoking too. Relaxing.

Wireless Dex? I think I have that disabled with the package disabler, but tell me how to utilize that feature?

Just like Dex except it's wireless, uses wifi.
I'm still running on Pie on my N10+ so I don't have it. Lol, I never tried Dex as don't need it, I package disable it too... guess I should test it
If you can use it, you might like it.

That is because Android has supported mouse and keyboard (both BT and wired) for several years now. At least since 2017 when the Note 8 was released. Probably longer. I was doing it with a Windows Phone back in 2015 with Microsoft Continuum.
You just can't use the S Pen as a mouse more than a centimeter or so from the screen. It would cool if you could, but the way the current S Pen works is not feasible. That goes for DeX mode too. In DeX mode you can use the phone as a mouse, however, you would need to either touch the screen with the S Pen (or finger) or no more than a centimeter with the S Pen.
Honestly, spend a little more and get a decent BT mouse. That way you won't have to worry about wires. On a side note. The S Pen does work very well as a remote camera trigger. That is purely BT and you can trigger the shutter at 30ft or so.

I definitely do use it as a remote camera trigger, and it's quite nice. Can a Bluetooth mouse sync up to the phone directly or will it still need to connect to a dongle first?

It can connect directly, no wires needed. Some older BT mice may have issues. By older, I mean more than 4 or 5 years old.
Fun fact: If you have a newer Samsung laptop, you can connect your phone to it and control the phone from the laptop. I can do it with my Galaxy Book2 Pro 360. I can also use my Tab S7 as a second screen for my laptop.

One final tidbit. The S22 Ultra also supports BT keyboards.
