Hey everyone. What's the general consensus on how to fix the camera lens? From what I'm seeing, it is to remove a so called film on the lens.
Anyone have any experience with this? My camera is next to worthless and that is obviously very disappointing.

Moist paper towel and some rubbing is all it took on the ones I've done

I used a Mr clean magic eraser, worked great. Look at the third to last post.
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
I ended up not using a Mr clean because of the way Mr clean works. It can really cause scratches to the lens because of its rigidity once wet.
I ended up using a q tip and rubbing alcohol. It worked like a charm. Perfect lens now!

Maybe I'll do that to get rid of the tiny bit left on the camera fringe. I'm just afraid of using a solvent because I'm afraid of it getting on the inside of the camera and loosening an important adhesive

It works like a charm bro! I was going to take my phone in to get swapped out today actually. I tried this as a last attempt and it worked perfectly. The body is sealed so you don't need to worry about anything getting inside of the phone.

The camera against the metal body isn't completely sealed. But should be sealed enough.

Just reaching out to the community (again, sorry) to see if dust is appearing behind the glass screen covering the camera lens on anyone else's g2x. I just noticed a spec or two that appears to not be a scratch or smudge. This phone is amazing despite this and a few reboot/lockup issues I'm had that everyone is claiming is software related... so this dust issue is really my last concern with this phone. I've seen this problem occur before on previous phones ive owned and it eventually spiraled into levels much more severe then just a spec or two. Levels that start to make some phone functions difficult to use or unusable altogether.
Again, any input would be greatly appreciated. I just want a general consensus from the community to determine if I simply have a defective model or not. Thanks.

I have lots of dust on mine but it doesnt show up when i take a picture. Guess there is nothing i can do about it. I got my phone for free so cant complain.
Have you removed the back cover and cleaned the dust from behind there?

The first thing i noticed when i was putting my sim card and battery in was the lens cover. That is good design. All of my other phones have had a sealed lens cover. So if you did get dust behind there you were screwed.
still a lame design, no cover on flash so dust gets in there when most phones don't have this issue.
I had to remove cover just to clean area to get a clear photo yesterday. LAME!

I dabble in photography and have enough of lint-free lens wipes lying around. I spray a wipe with just a little bit of lens cleaning liquid and use that to wipe down the phone, then use a clean wipe to dry it out. It makes the screen sparkle and also removes oil smudges off the back and sides.

Not sure, haven't tried it.
You could also use glass wipes of the kind available in CVS or Lenscrafters. CVS has wipes under their own brand that work quite well for cleaning my reading glasses. They are not dripping wet but moist enough to do the job.
i use alcohol wipes on my white one , would imagine it would work for yours
Any suggestions for the back? I assumed when the OP said grey One X they meant the back anyways, cause I don't see any reason why the color of the device would change anything in relation to the screen...

Hi, i accident drop my s4 i9505 and cause a dent to the middle housing bezel. Is there any recommend on spare part shop that I can get a hold for the replacement? I looking for the original/chrome if possible. Thanks alot!
here my picture.
service center should be the only way if you have to fix it, or you can buy a case for your s4 so that it hides the dent
It seems metallic.. Isnt It?? I thought It was plastic.
Enviado desde mi GT-I9505 usando Tapatalk 4 Beta
It's plastic. And you can change it yourself easily. You have to buy something like this

Same thing happened to mine and my wifes and we dropped them from like 2 feet
Looks like that case your using isn't doing it's job. Get a new case!
I don't think the top chrome is plastic since mine also got flattened after a drop

I did a drop test on my s4 from about 4ft high face down on a flat bar floor. Did it about 5 times and the only "damage" was something similar. Its definitely plastic.

One of the main reasons I bought mine as well is the looks.
You might want to check out the cases made by Spigen. Particularly the Slim Armor cases. They follow the looks of the phone and come in the same colors as the phone.

FYI no fingerprints here...

I have heard some people voice concern over the volume rocker being loose, small gaps between speaker grill and screen or (in my case) it being slight raise in one corner. My issue with the screen is only something I notice if I run my finger over it slowly and if I point it out to someone I get a chuckle and a head shake lol. Build quality in my experience with every m8 I have seen with the exception of one has been great IMO. The poorly built m8 i did see the rep wouldnt sell it and took it back with out being ask which was nice. Sometimes I will get tiny pieces of lint in the speaker grill but its easy to remove with tape.

Camera has a strange film on it that scratches very easily. Easily fixed by using an abrasive to buff it out like toothpaste or a Mr clean magic eraser. Annoying nonetheless.
Besides that it's great.

Yes, it's a supcase with a clear back, scratched up very badly just from being in my pocket. Also my duo camera and front camera kind of got really foggy, so my pictures came out all blurry. I had nothing else in my pocket and always took good care of it.
You might have a good model then. But once I had one scratch the rest came fairly quickly.
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
I happened to have taken mine with me on a jetski once by mistake and the results of it gave my phone a wiggly power button (i think, might have already been there) but other than that I've seen little to no faults in it.
Sorry for another question but I gotta ask about signal strength compared to say moto or LG. I went from a droid razr to a G2 last November and have seen some variance in signal.
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
Build quality for me is nice. I don't have the volume wiggle buttons problem. I will say some times lint from your pockets gets in the speaker grill but taking a cleaning cloth and wipe over the holes does it for me.

Haha, thanks for the sympathy.
I think a dead pixel might be worse, after you scratch away that film the camera is good as new. Dead pixel all you can do is replace the screen. My camera is great now.
