More fingerprints than my stainless steel fridge - Verizon HTC One (M8)

I know this may sound a little lame but I love the look of the phone, so I use it with no case. But the fingerprints are a bit much. Does anyone use anything like a cleaner, hand sanitizer, etc.?

I use my microfiber cloth, which is what I clean the screen with.

U WOT M8?

I haven't noticed any fingerprints on the metal. It is way better than a plastic back.

Hm. Haven't had this issue yet. A microfiber cloth would probably suffice though.

In my case, my 4yr old has her fingerprints all over the stainless fridge, and not my M8. No problems here!!

One of the reasons I got the silver. Not a single print.

One of the main reasons I bought mine as well is the looks.
You might want to check out the cases made by Spigen. Particularly the Slim Armor cases. They follow the looks of the phone and come in the same colors as the phone.

FYI no fingerprints here...

Chances are in this day and age that stainless steel fridge isnt really stainless steel at all. ?
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk

I have the spigen case and the screen protector. They work pretty well. I don't see any pri ts on tbe case. The screen will always have a smudge or two, but it's not that bad, way better than som other phone screen protectors I had.

I wish I could leave my grey m8 without a case but nope. have sweaty hands, this bad boy would be all banged up like my old s3 if it wasn't for the otter box defender I bought

I dabble in photography and have enough of lint-free lens wipes lying around. I spray a wipe with just a little bit of lens cleaning liquid and use that to wipe down the phone, then use a clean wipe to dry it out. It makes the screen sparkle and also removes oil smudges off the back and sides.

Not sure, haven't tried it.
You could also use glass wipes of the kind available in CVS or Lenscrafters. CVS has wipes under their own brand that work quite well for cleaning my reading glasses. They are not dripping wet but moist enough to do the job.
i use alcohol wipes on my white one , would imagine it would work for yours
Any suggestions for the back? I assumed when the OP said grey One X they meant the back anyways, cause I don't see any reason why the color of the device would change anything in relation to the screen...

One of the reviews say it's not real.
I dont think you're going to find one. real carbon fiber to make into a case would require some expensive tooling or someone to hand make each one. Your best bet might be to buy a sheet of carbon fiber and a cheap case and glue panels to the case.

That is pretty much what the BodyGuardz armor is, sheets of vinyl that look like CF that you apply to the body of the phone. I bet it's just 3M Di-NOC cut to fit the SR, in which case just get a 4"x8" sample from 3M for $8: http://store.carbonfibergear.com/3m-di-noc-carbon-fiber-vinyl/ and cut it yourself. More colours there too...
A *real* CF case will probably not ever be produced, for the reasons listed above. The only phone I know of that has a real one is the iPhone, since there are millions of them, and they are all the same, so the market is larger.
Tom
Ya i had one on my iphone and thought someone might make one for the skyrocket. I guess there are way too many variations of the galaxy s2.

I bought a sheet off ebay like a year ago. It was a 1'x3' foot sheet for I think $12. I've cut it and put it on all kinds of stuff. If it's flat (like the battery door on the skyrocket) its really easy, just stick it on then trim the edges with a razor blade. If it's a curved surface then you'll need some heat (blow dryer) to conform it to the curves. And don't worry if you mess it up just peel it off, and try again.
One of the posters above posted a link to some from carbon fiber gear.com but you can get it on ebay too. The 3M brand is the best (imo) but I've seen glossy sheets before too, they look more "real" but I have no experience with them.

Interesting... making your own case.
Tell us how it works.
I might get myself some epoxy and some carbon fiber myself. My back is pretty scratched up anyways.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA
We're not actually making a real carbon fiber case. It's a vinyl sticker that looks like carbon fiber. You just stick it to the phone and trim the edges.

Google this: B0061V1FAQ
I don't use the invisible-shield like screen protector that comes with this, but the skin fits beautifully .
Saw that already. The 3m di-noc is the best vinyl apparently. I've seen a few cars wrapped in person with it and it's the most realistic looking stuff.

I got the Belkin bumper case. And HD Zagg shield (doesn't have the orange peel of regular zagg).
As someone that generally hates cases, I find the bumper gives me the illusion of no case..but protects the corners very well.
Keeps the phone nice and minimal looking still.

Trident case on mine. Would like more color choices but nice case otherwise.

Rather than looks does anyone have any experience with dropping their phone with their respective cases? My life flashed before my eyes a few months ago when I saw my old iPhone 4S dropping from a bag I was carrying. But, the otterbox hybrid case I was using kept the phone safe and secure. While I don't want to go full derp and increase the thickness of the phone too much, I would love to increase the peace of mind with a good case that protects better than it looks.
Thx in advance.

Bumper Defect?

I had my bumper off my phone while I was having ghost armor installed on it, the bumper was in my pocket and I tend to be one of those people who fiddles with things in their pocket while they wait.
I was just pushing on it lightly, when I realized that the hard plastic easily came apart from the rubber. I thought maybe I just pushed too hard, but when I started inspecting it around the sides, I realized that there were many spots where it would happen with very little force.
Is this supposed to happen or is it some sort of defect in my bumper?

Judging from this bumper unboxing/review... it's supposed to be like that

Most bumpers are 2 parts
Mine does the same thing around some areas of the bumper.

EDIT: I don't think it can come all the way apart, there is glue holding parts of the bumper.

Anyone thinking of getting one? I'm torn. I love my hornet defender (though the screen protector has proven itself cheaper than my previous defenders), and am torn on giving up that color combo. On the other hand, true waterproof protection could be worth it.

I agree, it doesn't look anything like the lifeproof other than it is a case. The back on the lifeproof (both versions) is completely clear.
Also, although there is no top view released pictures of the Otterbox Preserver, it is obvious that the headphone seal it quite a bit different from the lifeproof.
I was set to plunk down some money for the lifeproof, but the clear back and the flimsy headphone seal drove me away. It will be interesting to see more info on this case. But if it is not released soon, it will be irrelevant.
So this is really just their Armor series re-branded.
