Try Nova Launcher Prime which has gestures to have this kind of customization. Using recent button as menu button can be done with Xposed. Stock launcher doesn't have any options to customize.

Pretty sure PAC ROM has an option for this

i see, you can also remap keys on stock with the gravitybox xposed module, just open the gravitybox app and go to navigation key actions

AOKP Milestone 6

I've searched through the entire rom but have not found a way to set up how many home screens I want, so wondering if anyone can direct me to that.
also does anyone know how to disable my soft keys at the bottom since i have the on screen nav enabled?
To the first question are you using launcher or nova launcher?

I'm using the stock launcher I don't care for Nova much
Edit: think I might go with nova just cause I can resize Widgets lol

I'm also curious if this is possible. Ive found an app that disables the lights... until you sleep and wake your phone again. I really like the on-screen keys but there is not much point in my opinion if the soft keys are still lit/working.
Thanks
For backlights
On Nova launcher do this.
Press and hold on the desktop>shortcuts>activities>galaxys2 settings.
Press on the shortcut and set up your back lights.

[Q] Extended power menu for Nexus 5 rooted?

Does anyone know of such a thing for stock rooted Nexus 5 ROMs? Either APK, or flashable zip is fine. Thanks in advance.
Quickboot app in the store works

Ok, thanks. Not what I was looking for though. Was looking for the actual extended power menu.

He doesn't mean quick settings in the notification window. He means additional options in the power menu (reboot to recovery, reboot to bootloader, etc).
To answer your question, I unfortunately have no idea.
Seconded. I've done a little research before and it seemed to require a lot of gritty work (but that was back when I had a MotoX). I'll start peeking around to see if I can get something working, that would be a nice addition to a great device.

Little Old now But I found my self here while looking for an answer.
Here is your Advanced Power Menu (Like what you get with CyanogenMod etc.)

Just about to comment that ^ I would recommend xposed/gravity box in either case so I would use that method.

[Q] Why is the menu button the task manager button?

The button to the left of the physical button on the phone. (I'm not 100% it is called the menu button, but that is what I am going to refer it as.)
I just upgraded from the GS3 and am a bit frustrated. The button now goes to the task manager. I have to press and hold to get the menu appear. I hate this! Does anyone know of a way to get it back to normal? :crying:
It is now the recent apps button.

That's how Android buttons are supposed to be.... Recent apps, home, back, in that order.

I know it has only been a day, but have you heard of a way to change the function?

I swear it wasn't like this on the Galaxy S3
It wasn't like this on the gs4 either ....give it a few days for some of the apps to be updated for the s5.

You can press and hold on the task button and it will trigger the menu.

It wasn't like that on the s2, s3, or s4
To be honest, I prefer the new layout on the s5. It was a pain having to hold the home button to get to recent app before

I was super happy when I saw the option to long-press recent apps for the menu key. Hopefully later on we get to remap the key to menu in ROMs like CM but if not I'm fine with it. I do wish it were still the menu key by default, though.

Menu Button

Is there a way to change the app button settings into the old Menu Option settings? I really miss that lol
They have a mod in the development section

app to easily switch between softkey and hardkey?

Hi, I'm looking for an app that is able to enable the softkey with just a click of button and lock the capacitive button? Is there such an app? It's much like the one plus 2 which has a way to easily switch between the 2
there probably is but most likely you will need to be rooted
