If any one is interested, i know a couple of you may be very intersted !!
I found this link someone posted on need rom, from 4PDA site, for the s650, these roms are custom based from CN roms which include MIUI , LEWA and AOSP !!
EDIT 10 / 5 / 14: New roms have been added and updates to LEWA and MIUI, also a couple of ROW based roms in there too !!
EDIT 15 / 5 / 14: All roms confirmed to be working fully with dual sim !!
All seem to be good and working , i am still testing and have got stuck on AOSP, I love it !! It is smooth and fast, and for first release on all these roms extremely good with a very promising future !!!!
They are all in development stage still but, in particular the AOSP is particularly stable, the only fault seems to be notification light not working for missed calls and messages !!! MINIMAL PROBLEM !!!
If only i could join these forums to thank the guys for their hard work !!
Problem is the verification code to join, needs to be in Russian, so i can't !!!
Here is the link, ENJOY !!!!!
ALL LINKS FOR ROMS ARE OPEN TO GUEST USERS !!

So far my impression of the AOSP is very good, the only slightly annoying thing is that after a long call the screen does not wake automatically, you must press the power button, otherwise really good !!!!
Just started testing LEWA and so far looks good, a couple of things to note:
After first boot leave it to settle for a few minutes and then reboot, if you don't a lot of the toggles in settings do not work !!!
Dual sim settings in main setting menu do not seem to work, i tried the sim in both sim 1 and sim 2 slots and they work as they should but i don't know about 2 sims together !! (TESTER NEEDED FOR THIS )
Will continue testing and move on to MIUI later , so more posts / issues and request for testers on dual sim use will follow !!
OK, so apart from the already mentioned issue with dual sim management, the LEWA rom is actually very good, everything seems to work and the interface is very clean and easy to use, with smooth graphics !
The MIUI rom also has the issue with dual sim management, it is not obvious if it works or not, the feature in settings only shows the card in use ( TESTER NEEDED TO TRY 2 SIMS ), otherwise works very well, the things i don't like so much are, trying to figure out the root manager ( seems to be on all MIUI roms ) and the annoying WI-FI only pop up everytime you try to download or if it thinks it is too big for data, which happens to be everything over about 2 mb !!!
The AOSP rom, seems to be working great except for notification LED not working and poor battery life, it seems that the dual sim function is OK, the warning is in notification drawer that no sim in slot 2 and each slot works individually ( TESTER NEEDED FOR 2 SIMS TOGETHER ) i am really hoping battery life will be fixed somewhere in development but it does seem to be a problem with AOSP roms specifically , so i am not optimistic !!
The AOSP is exactly as expected, pure android look and feel, very fast, light on the system and without all the overwhelming features of some roms, i do like it but battery drain is a real minus for me !!!
If you like MIUI roms and are used to the features, it is great if not i would try the LEWA rom for something similar to VIBEUI !! Go with the AOSP if you want simple, stock android, light on the system and very easy to use !!!!
thanks for the info. I do not have a backup phone so please let us know if dual sim is functional for the AOSP. I really hate the default ROW ROM.
It appears to be, the warning is there to the tell me that no card is insim2 slot and both slots work separately , I just have not tried both together !!! Worst case is going back to ROW if it doesn't work, bear in mind these are only first release customs so they should become more functional with development !!
The downside with AOSP is battery life, seems to drain twice as fast but seems to be a typical AOSP thing !!!

Batter battery drain is a show stopper for me. My current Rom is fine with battery. I just want to run plain vanilla ROM. My gf doesn't need the extra crap they installed. I wish there was a Linux or Mac way of rooting. I don't run Windows, but if I have to dual boot, I guess I don't have a choice.
If there is flash tool for mac or linux you can actually load TWRP using flash tool and root through TWRP !??
Just make sure if you are with ROW download ROW recovery and CN for CN roms !!
Once you have chosen the scatter file in flash tool, tick DA DL ALL box at the top !
Click on the RECOVERY line, this will open up a window so that you can choose which recovery.
Choose the TWRP recovery you downloaded and then proceed with the flash procedure as normal.
Once finished reboot the phone.
Now power down
Now power on holding volume up and down together, release power button only on vibrate, this will boot recovery
You should see TWRP reovery, go to wipes / advanced wipe wipe cache and dalvik
Now go back to main menu and choose reboot, you should see a prompt that SUPERUSER IS NOT INSTALLED, JUST SLIDE THE BAR TO INSTALL
Now once the phone is rebooted you will see superuser icon on screen, click it and it will tell you to update, easiest is via play store ( make sure you added account ) , it will tell you upgrade success and tell you to update binary, do this too and now you are rooted
Awesome, hope the will be more progress on the AOSP rom.
Yeah, me too, i have been using it for a couple of days and it really is good, the battery does even out a bit after a couple of charges but not nearly as good as the battery life on stock Jelly bean rom, getting about 15-20%% less life !!
I have mentioned somewhere before that during 6 hours intense use on internet, testing GPS, bluetooth and downloading 2 rom zip files at 600mb each, on stock 4.2.2 rom still had about 50% left on battery but on this AOSP rom during exactly the same use it went down to 31% !!
Waiting for a 4.4.2 AOSP
Sent from my Lenovo S650 using Tapatalk
The 4.4.2. stock rom is still in development, so my guess is they are waiting for a more stable version to use for custom, it does take time and i honestly think there will be something by about July / August, provided everything goes well !!
Everything stable and working fine after a week using 1417 dev

Is there an AOSP ROW?
Sent from my Lenovo S650 using Tapatalk
Hi bluerichblue. I know you've been around the block with the current released ROMs. I found out that ROW is required for other because of the different languages. I only need EN so I can install any ROM correct?
The original ROM I got for this unit had some anti-malware / AV installed which resulted the unit lagging. Especially when it lists the text messages and opening texts. I restore to the S650_S119_131014 form needrom and it had the stripped down ROM that only has a few 3rd party apps and GAPPS included. The S650_S119_131014 is very light weight and the battery lasts longer than a day for heavy texting and and ligh calls. I was impressed! The only problem I have with the S650_S119_131014 ROM is that it has some Chinese characters in the text app and a few other minor Chinese characters on a few other places. It's not a show stopper though.
have you encountered other custom ROMs that have all English in it?
Yes you can install any rom, if you are using flash tool it is a straight forward flash, if you use TWRP you must make sure that you have the corresponding recovery installed, that means if you want to go from CN to ROW you need ROW TWRP installed even on the CN rom !!
Also the same in reverse, if you want to go from ROW to CN you need to install CN recovery even on ROW rom to flash !!
The reason is the partitions are different, on ROW roms you will have about 5gb allocated to apps space but on CN only 2.8gb !!
The ROW roms have been tweaked so the Chinese is not there and the AOSP is proper English !!
Hope this helps !!!

Are you talking about AOSP OS 4.2.2 R-V0.11.2 ROW - old? I'm assuming there is no AOSP version that matches the latest official *VibeUI* rom right?
Yes the version of AOSP you saw is correct but so far no AOSP for the latest KitKat version,
The latest release for VibeUI is a stable CN version so i am guessing they will start on ROW versions now and hopefully some of the Russian developers will pick it up and start developing custom KitKat for us but saying that Mediatek roms are known for having different dependencies which are meant to be a pain to work with and with the partitions in KitKat being different, could be a while before we get something !!

I used TWRP v 2.6.3.0
Failed flashing Lenovui_sofina_row_s650-s127 and s650_s930_row.
What TWRP version is consider ROW TWRP Will you link me.

You need to use the ROW TWRP even if you are on a CN rom , as the partitions are different and the recoveries are set for specific partition !!
Go here and scroll down a bit you will see 2 lines for recoveries :

Download the update I posted on rapid-share
{**rapidshare**.com/files/21...20130521.zip}
(just remove the asterix)
Then follow these instructions, to get to recovery mode I don't know if your phone will be the same; you could always try.
1. Drag the update zip folder to your sd card from your computer.
2. after its on the sd card turn off your phone then
3. hold the power button and the volume down button until you get to the recovery screen.
4. select apply update from sd card then when everything is done installing turn off your device one more time and hold the power and volume button and select factory reset.
if you dont do a factory reset after you install the update then the google play store and anything from google wont work.
so make sure you do a factory reset after the update is done.
Hope that works
Found this thread from GSM Arena and applied the update. Thank you flickpiston for posting. It's a start in getting these phones some dev love.
With that said, about 24h have passed since flashing the update and this ROM is not much better than the original that shipped. I still experience frequent FCs, freezes requiring battery pulls, and battery drain. But hey, at least Google Play Services finally installs like it's supposed to.
Unfortunately, this ROM still has BLU's hands all over it considering there are some dialogs in Engrish just like the factory ROM.
I rooted using another guide translated from Brazilian Portuguese and applied the V6 Supercharger and it has somewhat helped with the lag. I'm going back and forth between the 512 balanced and aggressive settings.
Let's hope we can get a real recovery on this phone soon. And a proper ICS/JB port.

I found out that the XOLO A500 is extremely identical to the BLU Dash 4.0 and they have a CWM recovery that i tried and it worked when i flashed it, but when i turn off the device and try to go into recovery a second time it takes me into the stock recovery instead of CWM recovery. I don't know why it does that
Yeah, going by the specs it seems that the Dash 4.0 is a rebadged Xolo A500.
On another note, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I have finally tamed the lagging and crashiness of this ROM using zepplinrox's V6 supercharger and KAK scripts. Specifically I switched back to the 512HP balanced settings, enabled the Nitro Lag Nullifier, fixed permissions, and wiped the dalvik cache. The KAK script has everything enabled except for I/O scheduling since I don't want to risk bootlooping without a proper nandroid.
Finally, consider downloading No Frills or some other CPU manager. For some reason the cfq scheduler is the default; I switched it to noop. Also you have the choice of using the interactive governor; this also cuts down on lag at the cost of more battery.
Thanks for the info it really does help. Till now i didnt know about supercharger or KAK scripts. I see improvements . I think the best thing to do right now till the development starts on this phone is to try and find compatible phone that already have developments for them and see if they work, because a custom rom would be nice.

Thank you for your conduct I downloaded your rom but I downloaded from dev-host host because the host Rapidshare very glimmering. I think some friends in a thread for my phone in my country have contacted with some people who also using BLU Dash 4.0 and get the rom from them. That's maybe you, guy I also don't know . I will try update your rom later.
Back to the main subject, as I know, your phone(BLu dash 4.0), my phone (Q-smart S20), Xolo 500, Cherry Burst S280 and Gsmart R1, they are running on 3.0.21-perf Kernel Version and the same hardware like: ram, cpu, os,....., so I think they can use the rom of each other, I have tried with all but the rom of Gsmart R1 does not detect SDcard on my phone, others run well. And now i am using this rom of blue dash 4.0 and satisfied it. In forum in my country, we have a thread with collective rom as i told, if you want to try those roms, i can share. :fingers-crossed: Sorry for my bad English.
Something went wrong when I had tried to update this rom. My friend is trying researching more. In this zip pack, we found that it has many files *.enc, it doesn't like any zip packs which we have flashed.
I am happy to report that I have finally stabilized this ROM to the best possible degree. Scratch that, no I didn't. But the following HAS cut the lag. Forgive me if I repeat myself from previous posts but here are the steps I took in hopes that others can duplicate and confirm:
1. Root using this guide and use Google Translate. You will need the Android SDK, the script in the OP, and the Qualcomm driver linked further down in the thread.
2. Install Busybox from Google Play.
3. Optional: Install Koush's Superuser as SuperSU has been bad news in my experience especially if you wipe caches.
4. Grab the latest Supercharger script. You will need to carefully follow the instructions. You MUST patch services.jar as explained in the thread. I suggest using the balanced settings for 512 MB but of course you're free to use any of the 512 options. You should also try using the Nitro Lag Nullifier.
5. Optional: Grab the Kickass Kernelizer script. DO NOT include I/O tweaks.
Caveats:
TiBu freezes the phone if you try to backup the system apps. Backup your user apps and data. I'm still trying to find a way around this.
DUDE
HEY MAN could you make a CUSTOM ROM AND UPLOAD, because its difficult to me to do all that you said... i want to eliminate the lag

I really dont know , what phone are you using? AlsoI've tried the Gsmart Rio R1 and it was in a different language so i went back to stock BLU ROM I'm using V6 supercharger like AlphaMack suggested. It's not bad:good:
Hi everyone.
I rooted my Note Pro 12.2 (wifi) a while back and installed a basic rooted ROM, not CW12.
I honestly don't remember which ROM I flashed. I believe it was just a stock de-bloated ROM, and if it's the one I think it is, in the thread it says that ROM was faulty and dev has stopped for it. I see the kernel version and build in the "about" section under settings but I'm not sure if that number would tell me which ROM it is, or just the ROM and kernal that it was built on top of.
I basically wanted a stock style ROM with the ability to change things as I wanted. I'm still noticing a TON of lag. Scrolling on pages, loading apps, screen lag between touch and actual input of characters when using on screen keyboard, etc etc. I've frozen a bunch of bloatware and other things and it helped a little, but it's still pretty bad.
Audio latency with recording and MIDI apps is very bad, but I know that's improved with lollipop.
Aside from lag, it seems that GPS won't lock on no matter how long Iet it look for a signal (hard to tell if it's the ROM, but my Note 4 has found GPS very easily). Also, my Note 4 (unrooted and stock at this point) is waaaaay smoother and faster than this tablet. I realize we're talking about lollipop vs kitkat, and that the Note 4 version I have is the snapdragon one. But it still seems like performance should be better on this tablet.
So I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a good ROM for me to flash until lollipop comes out for the wifi version of this tablet. I want the stock multi-window functions (4 at a time plus floating windows), so CW12 is not an option. I want to use some of the Samsung apps like s note and Hancom office. I use the s-pen from time to time with the pen apps like write-on-screen.
The "rooted" features I want to access are turning off the camera sound (adding the switch to the settings menu in the camera app, not just replacing the sound file with a dummy file) Changing PPI of apps (xposed module) and full access read/write on micro SD cards and really important is the ability to add any app to the multi-window apps list and force orientation. I've been able to do all this with xposed modules.
Other than that, stock would be fine if it wasn't so laggy. The main reason I want to try another ROM is the lag. On screen keyboard has a lot of lag, but even my Logitech k810 bluetooth keyboard is laggy.
I'm also currently travelling and don't have a PC with me. So I'm hoping I can flash the ROM without ODIN, or perhaps I can use one of the ODIN-for-android type things on my Note 4 to flash a ROM to the Note Pro 12.2. Also I have the stock recovey, and would like suggestions on which recovery to use instead. Again, no computer with me to flash a new recovery. Ido have an OTG cable and USB flash drive so Ican back up my files before flashing the new ROM, as well as a miscro SD card.
Any recommendations for a smooth, fast ROM? Any tips on flashing it without a PC? I know I can copy the ZIP to the tablet and flash it from recovery...but it is the stock recovery...is this going to be sufficient?
THANKS!
The hyperdrive rom by sbreen (in the dev section) works great. Isnt there an internet cafe in the vicinity? Ask them for assistance flashing the beast. I love twrp. Good luck!
I tried to find an easy root apk thingy so you dont need a computer, couldnt find anything (but maybe kinguser or something like it will work)

Thanks! TWRP is I think what's on my Note II back home. My tablet is rooted already of course. For the Hyperdrive ROM, one thing I'm a little confused about is if I have to FIRST install a stock ROM and THEN flash the custom ROM. I'm a little confused about why exactly but I see that in the forums from time to time. It's recommended for certain ROMs. I don't know if flashing the stock ROM updates some other firmware/hardware driver type stuff that's needed for the new kernal to work or what.
There might be an internet cafe. I'm flying from Vienna to Lithuania today. Trying to explain to them that I want them to download and install ODIN might be tough knowing only English and Spanish haha.
Sorry for the noob question but is clicking the thumbs-up icon what generates "thanks" or do I do that somewhere else?

If its rooted you can install twrp without computer (see my link) use twrp manager fromthe play store for that
You only have to flash the custom rom
(Make sure you backup on an ext sd or something, then delete everything in twrp, install custom rom, restart and done) I also always backup the launcher settings, if you backup the apps with titanium restoring is very easy afterwards)
Lemme know if this works for you!

I'm already having trouble installing TWRP. I can't do it from the app, as my device isn't listed. I downloaded the zip file of the correct version of TWRP and tried to flash it using the stock recovery. But when I boot into recovery mode, it still just goes to the stock recovery. Then I downloaded and installed ROM manager from the play store and it shows TWRP as being installed, but whenever I boot into recovery I just get the stock recovery.
I'm back home now and I guess I'll just try to do all this with ODIN.
Is there any reason I can't just install the custom ROM using the stock recovery? That's what I did last time.
Ok So I got TWRP installed via ODIN then I used it to clean wipe and flash Hyperdrive ROM but gmail app won't even open, just crashes immediately, and it's one of the main apps I need so...probably gonna look for another ROM...or most likely gonna flash the stock ROM, unroot and sell the tablet and get a Dell Venue 11 Pro. Might wait till the end of July though, the supposed release date for lollipop on this device.
Had the same problem. Install hyperdrive without the gmail app option. Afterwards install itmvia the play store.
And if you want lollipop give cyanogen a try. I love it (but its a personal thing).
Ad make sure to read the Venue reviews, they are not very positive.

I wanted to try lollipop because I use it for music, and latency is much better with lollipop. My Note 4 is running lollipop and I get way better performance from MIDI keyboards and guitar amp modelling. I really like the multi window functions on the stock and hyperdrive ROMs though, 4 at once, floating, etc. I'm sure as soon as lollipop is officially out for this device, someone will release a rooted version.
Thanks for the tip on gmail, fortunately I read it before getting too deep and just reflashed without gmail it and then installed the gmail app as you suggested and it does work. There still seems to be a bit of delay when using the on screen keyboard, not as fast as I had hoped. But it's up and running.
I was considering the Dell after trying a bunch of different audio and video editing apps for android and realizing that I just need full photoshop, premiere, and Reaper with all my VST plugins, so I need windows. Perhaps Surface Pro is a better choice but I like the Venue's chassis better, fanless, rounded corners. Also new tablets might be coming out with Windows 10 so another reason to wait...
My laptop is great but it's really big and I like a touch interface for on screen mixers and instruments. So I figured a tablet PC might work best for me. But the problem is GUI scaling. with the Windows legacy apps like Premiere and Photoshop, the buttons and menus don't scale, and on an 11" 1080 display they are quite small.
Just wait for win 10 and while waiting fine tune your 12" beast did you try system tuner pro already? You should be able to get less latency from that.
(And did someone mention "buy a Mac" already?
I am surprised, because after testing dozen ROMs I found stock ROM fastest one. Just root and debloat it.
Not so any lag or problems, but with custom ROMS I had a lot of problems.

Indeed, cyanogen requires a lot of tuning (but its what I like about Android, I am more tinkering with it than actually using it I believe

I checked out system tuner pro (didn't buy it yet just read the description) What exactly would I adjust to get lower audio latency? Just clock the CPU higher? OR does it have audio-specific settings not mentioned in the description?

OMG OMG I'm hoping I'll be able to use the Samsung Audio stuff with this, their DAW and amplitube and all that...plus I'll get Hancom office back...Thanks for the heads-up. I'm glad I've been using CM12.1 though So I can compare the experience.
Looking forward to the rooted version of stock lollipop making its way to xda as well! Now... to figure out the best way to back up my current installation...

I think any custom ROM can't replace the MIUI camera, i tried CM 12.1 but camera is very upset in terms of picture clarity as well camera app is very laggy and some times gets hang and wont response. Not able to dare to try custom ROMs due to this reason.
It would be really very great if anyone can able to port MIUI camera to these custom ROMs.

Try version 4 of the toolkit.
That worked for me.
Also, make sure you do exactly as the desctiption says, don't change the order of actions (as i did) because then it will not work.
First make sure that you pc has the right drivers (or use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979)
Then use v4 from this link and use the right order (http://en.miui.com/thread-117336-1-1.html)
So first TWRP then root (if you still need it).

Mi4i going into bootloop after flashing CM based roms!
I have tried almost all of the custom roms(latest ones) available for Xiomi mi 4i but neither of them actually worked for me. Whenever i flash the roms, it gets installed correctly and when it asks for language selection, it shuts off. I have tried flashing with both twrp and cwm, cleared cache, dalvik cache but problem never solved. I think the CM has some serious problems with this devices.

Mine is not directly going into boot loop.
Sometimes it works a few minutes (up to 20 or so), but it will shut down.
When connected to power it does NOT shut down, but still.
I tried yesterday the CM 12.1 version from Smoki3 from july 30th and that seems to work, but i did not have any time any more, so i had to restore my nadroid backup.
Will try it later again (maybe tomorrow) if that really does work, or if it was just to short time for it to shut down.

I think I was using developer rom and flashed CM on it directly so the problem occured. I read somewhere on a forum that you should flash it on global rom. I tried it with ASOPA-L rom as it was having the same problem and it worked flawlessly. Now going to try it with latest CM rom.
One thing I noticed the camera quality is better in ASOPA-L but this rom lacks performance mode.
I'm experiencing bad speaker sound after installing this ROM. Is there any way to fix that.
Sent from my Mi 4i using Tapatalk
I'm absolutely loving this rom. I've no idea why xiaomi let's miui be so slow and laggy. This room feels great and everything runs/opens so much faster and it looks fantastic. Cmon Xiaomi, step up your game, miui is way too heavy.
Like other people have mentioned, the only downside to not having miui is the camera. I've tried a bunch of others and the quality is greatly reduced compared to the miui camera. Please someone, please port miui 6 camera!!! PLEASE!! I'll be your best friend.
Whenever i boot ..it turns off...pls hlp
Thanks in advance

i also experienced the same problem when i was on miui 7 beta... i was able to flash twrp recovery but failed to flash custom ROMs... after that i reverted back to miui6 6.6.10.0 by using fastboot... and then again flashed twrp using mi toolkit v4 and succeeded in flashing custom ROM... this works 100%.Keep in mind that u can't flash a custom ROM..if u r on later version of 6.6.10.0
After reading on all the forums about Mi4C, I could not evaluate if MIUI ROMs are better with respect to custom ones. I think they're heavier, and as I don't care about features and customization, I was wondering which is the ROM which "could be flashed once and forgotten".
I'm a basic user, few apps, some photos, GPS navigation. It is important to underclock the CPU as we know out Snap 808 heats a lot.
All I search in a ROM is: stability, security, no frequent updates, good photos, lightweight, battery friendly.
Are there people with similar usage patterns which could advise me?
Thanks in advance.
If you want a stable daily rom which supports all the features of your phone, i would go with a debloated original rom (e.g. mi-globerom). If you want the newest features and u want to test some mods, i would go with Lineage/ResurrectionRemix but camera isn't best...
Mi-globe Lollipop or Nougat? Does Nougat still lock the bootloader at each flash on this one too?
I would take the nougat version as it has various optimizations and is also updated more frequently.
However, your bl will ALWAYS be locked if you flash from Nougat to Lollipop or Lollipop to Nougat but if you are on nougat bl and reflash the nougat rom it wont lock again.
Btw, u need to go through the miui unlock procedure once and then you have a "dev" account on which u can unlock (nearly) as many phones as you want without re-applying every time... it takes 5mins to unlock bl again then.
edit:
If you flash around a lot, stay on lollipop as there are more ROM's for it. Otherwise (and if you like MIUI) its worth to just update to Nougat bl, unlock (wait for the unlock-token to arrive before you upgrade to nougat), flash newest mi-globe and forget about the rom as everything will be working and batterie is ok (especially with gov-tuner mod).
If camera is high priority, then you need to stick with a MIUI based ROM like xiaomi.eu or Globe ROM.
I'm on AOSP Extended - AEX - (build from 2017/06/16) - Nougat BL - and I think I'll stick to this until MIUI 9 makes debut: good SOT - 3-4h, it's fast, it has many custom settings without cluttering. The only bug I found that could bug other people is that "Prevent accidental wake up" has no effect.
But regarding camera, I never rely on stock camera app (unless it's MIUI Camera on MIUI ROM). For a few weeks I'm using snapdragoncamera_v3.zip (flashed in TWRP) but you can choose from a wide range of apps if you have an account on a very well known Russian forum (I wont name it 'cause I don't know if it violates XDA terms but you can PM me).
Thank you, I think I'll go with mi-globe and I'll apply the MOD MI4C Charged (present here on xda). I have to unlock the bl sending the request and then flash the ROM, right? (I'm on an old lollipop MIUI8 xiaomi.eu dev).
Which is the gov-tuner mod you are talking about?
Thanks, so that ROM's bug makes the screen activate whenever the phone perceives movement?
About the cameras, I have the account on that site, which camera do you suggest for a not-MIUI ROM?
If the option is activated, when a notification arrives the screen should stay off if the sensor is covered and light up is the sensor is not covered. If we keep the phone in a pocket, for example, the screen should not light up. But in this ROM, if the option is on, the screen lights up not matter if the sensor is or is not covered. I can live with this, because ROM is good in many aspects.
About the camera, I'm using snapdragoncamera_v3.zip, but not from that forum. A Better Camera also seemed to me very good, its interface can be customized for your needs and produces good results. Feel free to experiment, there are many camera apps.
You can select the GOV-Tuner mod in the rom builder on MI-globerom website. However, if you use the MI4C Charged mod (didnt try this one by myself) make sure GOV-tuner mod is unticked, otherwise you will have problems.
To unlock BL:
1. Make sure you are on MIUI rom and logged into your Xiaomi account on the device.
2. Send the unlock request to Xiaomi
3. Wait for them to grant you the unlock
4. Flash newest miui DEV rom (best would be with Xiaomis flash tool)
5. Unlock BL
6. Flash TWRP over Fastboot
7. Flash MI-Globerom (dont boot it yet)
8. Unlock BL again/Flash TWRP again if necessary (shouldnt)
8. Flash supercharged mod
9. Boot the rom for the first time
This is a list of Nougat ROMs for this device and it's clones.
The list will be in the following format:
ROM : Version : Device : Tested/Untested
LineageOS : 14.1 : MMXC5 / E481 : Untested
Resurrection Remix : 5.8.4 : MMXC5 / E481 : Tested
crDROID : v3.5 : MMXC5 / E481 : Tested
AOSGPX : 7.1.2 : MMXC5 / E481 : Untested
There are also ROMs for the Elephone P8000, however the first time I tried one I got into a bootloop. It could just have been that I didn't wipe my caches, or it could have been a fault in the ROM; nonetheless I haven't tried any others from that device.
I couldn't find any for other devices, let me know if you see others.
Here is the factory firmware, as according to this post (Direct Download).
Also, the stock recovery: Original Post | Direct Download.
Im currently running crDroid and I couldn't be happier. Runs far better than the original firmware and the useless marshmallow update.

Have you encountered any bugs with crDroid? Did screen on time and standby increase by any good margin because doze and other os optimizations? With stock I get 7hrs SOT with LTE half the day. 5hrs if Skype calls and such.

Only bug so far is the kill app button not working (long press the back button) and sometimes after reboot sim cards not being detected. Usually it corrects itself after a few minutes. If not, I'll just re-flash the fix
Battery gets drained pretty fast compared to lollipop, but then again I used lollipop with xposed, greenify and amplify.

Happy to hear only minor bugs. I'm waiting on black Friday SD card to ship and then I'll be able to test too.
On lollipop all I needed to use was power nap to kill unwanted wake locks. I'll definitely try to get it to work because batter life is important to me. Only reason I'm upgrading is because of older exploits that stock didn't get updates for. Other than that stock with xposed is extremely stable for me.(30-60 days between reboots)
Do you know if crDroid is using stock lollipop kernel or is it a ported kernel? That would effect battery life greatly I suppose.
review of roms
Review time. Installed and tested these roms by wiping dalvik cache, system, data, cache and internal storage. Flashed ROM then gapps then "front camera flash" patch lastly flashed sim patch. Afterwards I wiped cache and dalvik cache again before rebooting. Once I had access to settings I disabled display live/night mode/blue filter for all ROMs.
All the roms tested used about 1GB of ram (and stock ROM being around <600MB.).
Resurrection Remix : 5.8.4 : Looks to me a part of this rom was made by another group of people that were not given credit.. Default browser loads the homepage of the other group. The system FM radio app was asking for root permission(denied it). Also it had email services running before I added any accounts can't remember this being the norm. Other than that this ROM ran the best in terms of speed and ui. Uninstalled because of security concerns.
LineageOS : 14.1 : This ROM has about the same speed as resurrection which is good but the ui stuttered/not smooth. Uninstalled because ported by same user as resurrection.
crDROID : v3.5 : This one ran the worse. It was slow and stuttered throughout the ui. Missed some customizations that Resurrection had so not sure why any one would want to use this instead.
AOSGPX : Didn't bother installing because last I heard they copied and pasted code from crDRoid.
At the end of the day I reverted back to stock because of security concerns. As well as having more ram available for apps. If I had more than one phone phone I would wireshark/test connections of the ROMs to confirm but I do not have. Hopfully this helps someone.

Just wondering with the ROM testing, did you disable the LiveDisplay nonsense? It drops my FPS to about 10, and is enabled by default.
Sorry, didn't read your whole post. I didn't find UI stuttering unless I enabled weird kernel stuff, or had L Speed installed.
Does anyone happen to know if any of these ROMs fix the problem that the official MM caused which was that all camera apps created a very dark image and took extremely dark photos?

You could flash a lollipop twrp backup, if anyone uploaded one or if you made one before. But if you don't have it, only way is by sp flash tool and original firmware (which is not a recovery flashable zip).
Been using the Crdroid rom for a few weeks now. Havn't had any lag or extreme battery issues. Im interested in trying the resurrection remix rom since it was tested to be the fastest, tho them security issues are kinda holding me back. What are these security issues people are mentioning? Isn't a ROM a ROM? I don't get it.
Also, if crDroid works fine, you could just try any other camera app. There are several that are quite good. I wish there were videos of crDroid.

I mean with what's going on with Kaspersky being investigated for allowing certain trogens to work undetected and Kaspersky is own by Russians and since when does fm radio need root access.
