[Q] Droid Maxx root upgrade to 4.4 - General Questions and Answers

I have a Droid Maxx on verizon. I rooted with RockMyMoto here http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/orig-development/root-rockmymoto-yes-ota-t2509590. I have note removed write protection with MotoWPNoMo. Im looking at these instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/orig-development/4-4-root-slapmymoto-1-0-motowpnomo-t2538896. Since I am already on 4.2.2 if i just do the MotoWpNoMo can i continue with the instructions or do i need to return to stock first? If i do will pressing full unroot in SuperSu work for this or do i need to flash 4.2.2 again? Any help is appreciated.

Can I root with this method???

I'm on JB and DON'T want to flash my XT926 back to ICS to get root. Finally it seems there's a way to get root on 4.1.1 but obviously I need to make sure...

Safestrap / TWRP restore question

Hello,
I’m running w/ the Droid Razr Maxx HD (non-dev edition) and I’m currently running the stock ROM 4.1.1 but I do have root, and safestrap installed. I’m aware before I apply the OTA update 4.1.2 to have Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper backup root, do temp unroot, and then defrost all the bloated apps.*
I’d like to be able to retain the ability to downgrade back down to ICS, should something catastrophic happen w/ my phone. I have backed up the stock 4.1.1 ROM through TWRP.* Is there anything outside or beyond the ROM that’s updated when these OTA’s are applied?* I’m just curious should I have to downgrade back to 4.1.1 that Matt’s utility will still work.*
Thanks in advance.

4.1.2, rooted and need to swap my device under warranty. How to unroot?

I'm on 4.1.2 and rooted. How do I unroot to send my device back to Verizon for a warranty replacement?
(The HD Utility 1.10 4.04 restore does not work from 4.1.2)
plenty of info on this on here if you search first but HERE is a link to help you.
I read a post about using some rsd file and also a file from the hd utility to do a restore using rsd-lite. It's all very confusing to me. On 4.1.1 rooted, all I had to do was the 4.0.4 restore in the HD utility, is was extremely clear and easy.
This 4.1.2 via rsd, not so much.

Obtaining Recovery for OTA Update

Hey guys, so I rooted using motoroot (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2442585) and I just unrooted using the same app. I'm told, however, that I need to have stock recovery in order to get the OTA update without having a bootloop. How do I do this?
This is for a Droid Maxx btw.
Thanks for the help
I'm looking for the same answer. Accidentally tried installing the ota and ended up in a boot loop. Ended up having to freeze the ota apk in the 30 seconds I had between reboots. Would like to take the ota and re root using the new method but I'm not sure if I just have to unroot or if I have to flash anything.

The above link will help. You will need to flash back to stock. The PwnMyMoto root exploit removes your stock recovery.

[Q] SBF 9.30.1 on unlocked bootloader

I hope this is an easy answer...
I want to SBF my Droid Razr Maxx HD to full stock. I have an unlocked bootloader and it is currently on CM 10.1.3. If I SBF this phone with RSD Lite and the firmware (from http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=5) will I still have the unlocked bootloader and the ability to flash other roms if so desired?
yes
Thank you.
EDIT: I have successfully brought the phone back to full stock.
