[Q] HTC One S no rom - HTC One S

One day I tried to root and unlock the bootloader of my friends One S, those were both successful so then i thought..why not flash a ROM (stupidly i didnt think about being S-OFF. I flashed CM11 in CWM and it got stuck in a bootloop so i wiped all data/factory reset. The phone is S-ON with an unlocked bootloader. It has a TWRP recovery. The bootloader stats are as follows:

Oh and fyi, my friend recently got a Nexus 5 (yes, of course I'm jelly) and he's happy with a custom ROM on that.
All I'm asking for is help to get this phone running on either on stock 4.1.2 or a custom ROM, from there, I can do what i please . Thanks in advance anyways

S-ON means you'll have to manually flash the "boot.img" contained in the rom zip via fastboot (Fastboot flash boot boot.img) after you installed the rom via recovery.

[Q] Failed Cyanogen Installation -> Half-Bricked Desire S

Hello, members )
My story:
Since i never liked HTC Sense i tried to migrate to Cyanogen.
I performed the following steps:
1. Bootloader was unlocked with HTC site.
2. 4ExtRecovery installed.
3. Cyanogen "update-cm-7.1.0-DesireS-signed" was installed via 4Ext from sd card.
Now phone stucks at HTC logo. Access to bootmenu, recovery is available.
I tried to flash RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.5_Radio_20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04_M_release_219480_signed.exe but it ends with an error.

Any chance to recover phone functionality?

Have you made a backup of your previous ROM? If not try one of the custom sense roms or run the ruu without attached device, don't close the first window and search for the rom.zip, copy it to another folder and delete everything in the zip file except the system.img, rename it to pg88img.zip and flash it in bootloader or flash the image itself with fastboot.
As much as I know is your problem that with htcdev the kernel isn't unlocked and cause cyanogen needs another then sense, it doesn't work.
Swyped from my Desire S
flashed pg88img.zip via bootloader. no effect, still hangs on white HTC logo screen (

first thing you should do is to go s-off, then you can install custom roms.

He's unlocked by htc dev
You can also try flashing the full package with all content from the rom.zip, but this sets also your unlocked state of the bootloader back and be sure that you use the latest version of the ruu.

seems like RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.5_Radio_20.4801.30. 0822U_3822.10.08.04_M_release_219480_signed.exe is te latest but it ends with an error.
I have already tried a few roms, but the result is the same HTC logo screen

You need to manually flash the boot.img from CM 7.1 when you have the unlocked bootloader.

Thanx for the help )
But i dont have cyanogen anymore since i tried to flash other roms.
Shall i install CM rom via 4extrecovery and then flash boot.img in fastboot?
I am ready to get back Sense because now nothing works (
Mr tpbklake , you do the magic!!
Everything works thanx!!
So,
1. CM rom was flashed in 4EXT
2. /boot was formatted
3. fastboot flash boot boot.img was performed (boot.img from the same rom)

One-X with old Cyanogen 10.0 (hboot 1.14) back to stock

I can not find my backup to this. I flashed this one-x last year with 10.0 after using the old rootkit exploit tool.
So in the bootloader it shows :

I tried to flash 10.1 cyanogen and after the the boot loop I found out I need newer version of hboot. But to get newer version of hboot apparently I have to get the phone back to stock and do the OTA update? I flashed this back before the jellybean ota rolled out. I cant seem to find my backup either.
Can someone help me with step-by-step guide on what I need to do to get this back to stock?
You don't need a different hboot, you need s-off. What's going on is that you need to fastboot flash the boot.img with that hboot. With s-off, that restriction goes away.
I hate suggesting S-OFF to everyone as it makes everything easily writeable which can be dangerous for many people -_-
But yes you can S-OFF or just fastboot flash boot boot.img from the rom you're flashing. If you're not going to be flashing often, or if you are afraid you may accidentally flash the wrong thing and brick this option does work.

So S-OFF and then "fastboot flash boot boot.img" after extracting the boot.img from the 10.1 cyanogen mod?
Or just extract the boot.img from 10.1 cyanogen and then fastboot flash boot boot.img"?
And if I wanted to get it back to stock, couldnt I just download and run this from the HTC site - htc_one_x_RUU_2.20.502.7_att_us_08022012.exe ?

[Q] Please help! One XL constant loop with red writing

Hi all, I was trying to root my HTC One XL (UK if that makes a difference) and its current status is dire to say the least...
I had unlocked the bootloader and installed twrp on it before, however I stupidly did a factory reset before a rom was successfully flashed on (roms had installed on it before but some like ParanoidAndroid stuck in a boot loop and some the touch screen was unresponsive...
Currently the phone can only sit in the HTC boot screen with the red writing 'For development purposes...'
It can be booted into the stock recovery with these details

The problem here is that you've done ABSOLUTELY NO RESEARCH, and as a result have no idea what you're doing.
S-ON + Hboot 1.14 and above, requires that you "fastboot flash boot boot.img" where boot.img is extracted from the rom you're flashing for most ROMs. The ROM thread's OP will usually indicate otherwise. This can be avoided by attaining S-OFF
AOSP ROMs touchscreen won't work with 2.14 Hboot unless you downgrade the touchscreen firmware as an update to the touchscreen firmware was done on this hboot but Source has not yet been released. touchscreen downgrade/upgrade thread is a sticky in original Android development section.
People take the time to create guides and stickies just so you can ignore them. Thanks.

Complex Problem

So I rooted my Butterfly some time ago and I flashed a rom which worked fine ONCE, but then after one reboot I couldn't get the ROM to work so I came back to stock. Now that I'm trying to flash a new ROM, but now I seem to have lost recovery. How do I flash recovery, get S-off again with a semi-rooted phone that seemed to be S-on after one reboot

[Q] Unable to access recovery with up to date CWM and/or TWRP

Hi.
I have previously had CM11 working very well on my HTC One S. To get the carrier unlock to work I had to revert to a stock ROM to apply the unlock code. Now, I am trying to go back to CM11 but facing difficulties.
I used an RUU (RUU_Ville_U_H3G_UK_1.78.771.5_Radio_0.16.31501S.19_2_10.23.31501S.10L_release_258982_signed) and that works fine but I lose root when doing it. I still have s-off and super CID.
Anyhow, if I flash TWRP recovery 2.4.1.0 I can get into recovery and flash SuperSu but cannot then flash CM11.
CWM will not let me flash CM Recovery and if I try a newer version of TWRP or any version of CWM Recovery my phone will go to the bootloader screen thereafter but when I select "Recovery" the phone just starts normally and I cannot get into Recovery at all.....
Please can someone give me some help / advice / pointers.
My head is spinning a bit so hopefully I'm missing something simple.
FYI Bootloader says:
