Hi, So this morning my nexus 5 restarted on its own and it was stuck on the loading screen all day. After trying everything I decided to restore it to factory settings but now I have another problem. The play store won't open. I get, "Unfortunately, Google play store has stopped". I've tried clearing the cache and data for the app, checking if download manager is disabled and resetting the apps. It still doesn't work.
My other problem is my phone isn't connecting to my network. My sim card is in yet my phone says No service.
Everything was working perfectly fine until my phone restarted and got stuck in the loading screen..
Which rom are you on?? are you fully stock??

Reflash the factory image in fastboot, that may solve your problem. Check the data in /settings/about the phone/status, do you see your Mac adres and IP adress? If not it may be a EFS issue.

I already reflashed the factory image but it didn't help. I do see my IP address and mac address. But all the other stuff like my network, phone number, and mobile network type say unknown. Would I just need to call my network provider to re-activate my sim card?

Yeah call them, have them check the connection and also ask for a new simcard as this may be also the problem.

Alright I'll give them a call. My play store, camera, and gallery still don't work. Even after I factory reset it, as soon as I hit the welcome screen it gives me the messages that these apps have stopped. I'm starting to think my phone is permanently messed up.

So I popped in another SIM to my phone temporarily, and in the process when I got my own back in, everything was fine EXCEPT
all my google accounts would not sign in, and would not accept their passwords. Strangely, 2/3 of them would not accept their password even on the pc in the browser. I briefly considered that I had been compromised but the timing is way too suspect with this never having happened before (the problem AND switching SIMs)
I reset those 2, and got them working on both the phone and pc browser again, on the phone only by deleting the accounts and re-adding them.
However, the remaining account (which I could always login on pc browser) will still not accept the password on the phone.
Because it is the main google account, it cannot be deleted on the phone except through a factory data reset.
I REALLY don't want to have to go through all that hassle of reconfiguring a million things just because something bugged out during switching SIMs.
How can I fix this without wasting my evening reseting settings and redownloading apps?
is data enabled on the phone? cuz if not it will give such errors. settings>wireless. data

mobile data has always been disabled on this phone; since day 1.
why would it being disabled suddenly cause a problem now?
I don't pay for any data, so what exactly are you proposing I do?
fixed it.
was related to 2 step verification crap. turned it all off and worked again.
I have the international SM-G920I version of the S6, running the latest 5.1.1 update.
Recently, it has started giving me issues in the Google Photos app. I am unable to back up any photos. When I go open the app and go to the Assistant tab, it always shows "Backing up 1 item out of XX". When I go to the "Backup & Sync" settings of the app, I get constant toast notifications saying "Backing up 1 out of XX". I factory reset my phone and tried again, however the issue persists. I am able to upload photos onto Google Photos using my computer, so it does not seem to be an issue in my Google account. Has anyone else faced this issue on their phone? What can I do to get rid of this issue?
Reinstall Google Photos.

I tried that and it didn't work. I also factory reset my phone, yet the issue persists.
Might be a network or server issue...

I am able to upload to Google Photos using the same wifi network, on my laptop. So it doesn't seem to be a network or server issue.
I had a similar issue. I deleted the data from the app (similar to reinstalling) and it went away. However, if you have done a factory reset thats a bit weird.... Sorry cant help more.
Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6 G920P.02
Android 5.1.1
Rooted, No ROMS
I am very, VERY confused. This makes absolutely no sense to me. I believe my phone is just fried but I will find out when I take it into the sprint store tomorrow. I will most likely get a new/replacement phone but they will have no idea what caused the problem and I need to figure out how this happened so it won't happen again. I'm also very curious as I don't understand at all.
The problem: It started with me not being able to connect to the internet on ANY of my apps. No crashes or anything, just no connectivity to the internet. Calls and SMS still worked like normal. After calling sprint support they told me dial ##72786#, which then just simply broke calls and SMS. Now NOTHING works.
What caused the problem: This is where I am most confused. I was trying to setup a VPN (purevpn, to be exact) on my Xbox One. In the process of this, I was modifying my router settings on my Windows 8 PC, plugged in a 2nd router, and constantly turned the wifi off and on. I was using my phone to test if the wifi was still working. (e.g. going to google.com on firefox or launching clash of clans...literally that was it) The only thing that I can think may have messed it up was a step in settings up the VPN. On my computer, after I installed the purevpn software I located myself to "Network and Sharing Center", then clicked "Adapter Settings", then clicked on "Pure VPN", then "Sharing", then checked the box "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection", and lastly from the drop down menu, selected "Local Area Network." This allowed all devices on my network to use the VPN. Somehow this messed up my phone that hard?

Steps I have taken to fix this: I tried rebooting my times a million times. Then I cleared DNS cache in firefox and tried to connect. Then I tried hard rebooting my phone to flush DNS cache. Then I called sprint support, who told me dial ##72786#. After dialing this, calling and SMS DO NOT WORK. "Hands free activation" starting running after dialing that number and fails to work everytime. When I wasn't able to call the phone rep back, I used the sprint online chat support. I told the online rep what happened, and they assured me the only way to fix this was to factory reset my phone. As frustrated as I was, I did it. After the factory reboot, my phone STILL CAN'T CONNECT TO ****. Exactly how it was before the reboot, except I lost all of my stuff. I have done countless google searches and am clueless and need help.
Google will push all your stuff back to the phone after you log into your account. But you'll need the internet for that.
How did you get root?

I really don't remember, It was months ago. I paid $30 for it though and have never had issues with it.
Just brought it into a sprint tech store and they fixed by putting in a fresh sim card, reseting the phone, cache, dns, and everything they could reset. After that did not work they flashed an updated version of my phones software on the phone, which removed the root , and fixed the issue.
I explained what I did to all of the employees in the store (I was the only one there) and they were all as clueless as me.
Does anyone know what could have possibly caused this?
After factory resetting my phone it won't connect to 4G/3G. I am still able to send texts and call people without this it just gets annoying when I can't connect to the internet. I am currently using the Sprint version of this phone. (I also tried debloating my phone and removed some stuff but then put all of it back on, and it still hasn't helped.)

found that out myself but ye that works!
Hi y'all, hope someone can help me with this since I can't seem to find anything on Google about the issue I'm having...
I got adventurous rooting my phone (running Lollipop 5.0) a while back to disable/ delete some carrier bloatware. All was great until the other day when I used Titanium to delete the AT&T Address Book. I immediately got a popup error "Unfortunately, AT&T Address Book has stopped." When I click OK it just keeps perpetually popping up like a zombie. While the phone technically works, it's effectively unusable with that constant popup message.
I tried restoring the system app + data Titanium backup but no dice. Also factory reset the phone with the hope of being able to then flash the stock ROM back to it but not only does the popup STILL happen, but during the welcome setup process I can't get past the screen lock setup part without the Google setup service (or whatever it's called) ALSO giving the "has stopped" error and crashing :crying: What have I done???
If you haven't solved you problem yet the way to stop the AT&T Address Book from nagging you is:
Open the dialer
Enter *#*#2666#*#*
Click "Registration" and set it to "Completed"
IDK know about Google Setup error, but I'd try clearing that app's cache as a possible fix.

Hi, thanks for reply. Unfortunately I cannot do either of those things because the phone will not let me bypass the new user setup process --- and I can't finish it without it crashing midway through. The only thing that can be done with the phone without completing the new user setup is make Emergency calls only. I'm hoping there's a way to connect it to the computer and do some kind of recovery boot to flash the stock ROM back to it so that I can reset it without the Address Book error constantly popping up.
